Misty Hills Country was very cozy. The room was a little small but the bathroom was large. The estate is an old stone estate, which adds to it charm. Carnivore restaurant is also on the property, which is a must-do-once experience for all visitors to South Africa, with carvers serving various types of game and doemtic meats cooked on swords over an open pit carved right at your table. The menu changes every night but we had giraffe (the best!), zebra, warthog, kudu, crocodile, and chicken, pork, lamb, and beef.

Staff were very friendly, clean and relaxing setting, food of a superior quality also, would stay there again.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and has good facilities. Rooms are not kept very clean and we had an incident where a fan was brought into our room while we were out and a bottle of wine was knocked over and left broken. When housekeeping was called they did a very poor job of cleaning up the mess. The next day when cleaning was again done we still found that pieces of broken bottle had still not been removed nor had the floor been vacumed and wiped. I would return to the hotel ony because of the spa and the outdoor facilities but would not really recommend it to others as from a cleanliness point of view a lot needs to be done.

This was a very nice country hotel, although some of the furnishings were less than prisitine, the ambience and the feel was great.

We stayed here for 5 nights. Fabulous hotel with excellent and friendly staff. About 45 minutes away from OR tambo airport but near enough to places we wanted to visit. They also recommended us the tour company which has provided us with excellent day to day trips (Boateng Gape tour). Wonderful selection for breakfast provided in Summerhouse restaurant. Dining at Carnivore restaurant is a must try experience for the meat eaters. The night drinks we have at the Gin Box was just the perfect way to end the night. Drinks were dirt cheap and comes with free bags and bags of crisps. This hotel is more like a resort, an oasis of calm and peace. The swimming pool, spa and sauna were the bonuses.
