Great hotelThis hotel is a little older, but clean and safe. This hotel is conveniently located in hotel circle in San Diego. It was a few minutes drive to Old Town, where my business was located. We also stayed extra days for sightseeing. It was a short drive to Old Town and then we could get on bus, train, or taxi for seeing the rest of San Diego. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, especially at check-in and check-out.The restaurant on site was great. We ate at least one meal there everyday. The portions were large, the prices were reasonable, and the service was quick. And the food was basic American fare, but delicious!!

As others have commented, this is an older hotel that had some makeover work. I found the room to be clean, relatively quiet given the location next to a major highway, and the staff helpful. The bathroom, though, needs more work. Laminate shelf peeling, along with trim. The tub was reglazed but poorly done and the glaze is coming off in spots. We had 2 double beds, relatively comfortable and very clean. Room was small. Grounds are pretty, but lawn furniture and hardscape needs some maintenance. Location of hotel convenient to everything in San Diego.

Has everything you need at a very faircost, very convenient. I have stayed here twice. It's right off the freeway, very convenient. It has many amenities. Gas station, restaurant, bar, gym, pool, and even a liquor store. I enjoy the in room coffee and tea as well.

location was good. check in was okay. room was ok. bathroom was small and older but it served its purpose. however the water pressure was our biggest complaint. walls were thin but we put fan on which helped drown out other noise. window in back of room did not have a curtain and it did get bright early but we got up early so it did not matter.beds were comfortable. we felt safe here. nice to have convenient store/liquor store on site as well as a restaurant. also very close to shopping. pool was nice and lots of lounge chairs to lay on. i would recommend staying here for someone with a lower budget. worked well for us!

The hotel was nice enough, but our room was kind of small and faced the freeway, so there was lots of traffic noise. We were also able to hear people talking outside our door. There was not much in the way of a noise insulator in the building. We did go to the pool and it was clean and nice. Around 10:30 pm we had someone knock repeatedly on our door saying something we didn't understand. We looked through the window and he said, "are you having trouble with your iron?" We said, No! We did not ask for a service call and was not wearing a uniform or name tag. We did not open the door, but we were a bit alarmed. We had our room cleaned each day and everything was great with that. We got a list of stores from the little market on the resort site. It would be helpful if the addresses of the stores were listed along with the directions to the stores, for those who have access to a GPS and can enter the address. That list should be available in the room and not have to be picked up in the market. A refridgerator in the room would have been great also. We had some things that needed cooling and that was an inconvenience.

I loved the friendly bar with games, the hot tub and other amenities, and the convenience of the liquor store/mini mart. The room was pretty small with no mini fridge! It is great for the money. All the comforts you need (except you NEED to put mini fridges in the room for our beer!) and a great location. Accommodating and friendly staff.

My husband and I were visiting our son who lives in San Diego. We chose the Travelodge mostly because of the cost compared to other hotels in the area. When we got to the hotel we checked in and, of course, went to our room. The room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable. The only down side was there was no microwave or fridge in the room even though there was enought room for one. More expensive rooms did have these items. There is a coffee pot w/ coffee & a hair dryer. We were very surprised when we went to the bar later in the evening. It was a lovely bar/restaurant. There was a piano bar where someone played Tues-Sat. They also had a happy hour from 3-7 pm. The bartender(s) were very nice and the rest of the staff was also. We ate at the restaurant one night. Even though it was a little on the pricey side the food was excellent. We didn't use the pool but saw that other people were. The food at the breakfast restaurant was also very good. The staff was very nice and helpful. When I booked the room it was simply for the price, but I would defintely stay there again!Kim from WI

Quite, relaxing , clean, working to take good care of you. Lost hot water in the shower during my shower.. It was great. we would go back to this hotel in a min. the staff were kind and tried to make you feel at home. it was great to just rest and be away from it all. but if we wanted to do anything it was right there for us. thanks.

I wish I had paid attention to the bad reviews, because this is the one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, and definitely the worst value (we paid * for a Saturday night-- exaggeratedly expensive for the type of the hotel it is, instead of what it claims to be). It smelled like a smoking room, the carpet borders were very dirty and the carpet had ripples in it, bed was uncomfortable, bathroom was small and, though it claims to be a ?resort,? only two towels were provided for two people, a small window in the back of the room had no shade, so bright light shown in all night, door was difficult to open (had to give it a hard shove), it was very noisy from the highway that is too nearby (though this is probably true of all the nearby hotels). Do not be fooled by the name, this is not a resort, but instead a bad quality motel! To be fair, the one positive was that the staff was friendly and responsive. I absolutely would never stay here again; I would rather stay at a Motel 6, Super 8, Best Western, or pay more for a better hotel. This is just about the worst choice you can make for a hotel in San Diego.

I checked in very late (3am) with no problems. The graveyard staff were very helpful and we were escorted to our room. The room was average considering that the facilities have that lived-in look and shows its age but I didn't mind one bit. The onsite cafe had good service and good food everytime we went there. The minimart and gas station were also convenient. I would definitely stay there again.

Don't listen to the bad comments made on this hotel. Some people say it's noisy, but I hardly heard a peep except for when people walked down the hallway and were outside my window. I came down to San Diego for the annual SD Rock n Roll Marathon and stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is great besides being slightly outdated. We had a king size bed in a nice sized room with a 27" flat screen tube tv. The tv had many channels to watch whatever is on cable. The bathroom appears a little small but everything works great and there is even additional ceiling lighting (for those of us ladies needing it for makeup application!) High-speed internet is available free of charge and if you need to print, the lobby even has a computer with internet access where you can print for free! The hotel also has a pool, jacuzzi, and gym (but I never stayed on site to use them). Furthermore, there is a convenience (liquor) store in the parking lot to buy necessities and alcohol. There was also a restaurant on site but we also didn't try it because we wanted to go out and explore! Everything is close by...Point Loma, Old Town, Downtown, Gaslamp, Airport...just to name a few were within a ten minute drive. Check in took a while since only two people working and the person before me booked 21 rooms! But, overall great experience and the staff were very friendly!!!

Convenient location. Nice staff. Enough space to sit around in groups. The rooms were rather small. We had trouble with a slow drain in the tub the first night. A window in the back allowed light to shine on the bed. The hotel was okay for our purpose. We did not spend too much time there since we had many activities to attend. This is why we appreciated the good location so we could easily get to the different places.

I had read some of the reviews, and thought this would be a great hotel. We were traveling down for a conference and needed a hotel for a night prior. I was not impressed with the hotel, it was overpriced for what you get. The security lock on the door was broken when we checked in, after complaining, they replaced it. It looked as if someone had pushed on the door very hard multiple times, the lock was in pieces after we touched it. The restaurant onsite was recommended to use by the employees who "eat there daily". My friend and I did not get what we ordered, i.e. over cooked/undercooked food, over priced, and poor service--multiple times we had to ask for help for little things like for catsup or place settings. The hotel staff overall were rude and seemed to be overworked. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all, I was not impressed. I was glad to leave the next day to go to the Town and Country Resort across the freeway for my conference, it was much better. The bathrooms are on the small side and I was just not impressed at all. Hopefully someone else can have a better experience. The garden was nice....that's about all it has going for it.

The location was convenient, and the hotel was clean. The people were helpful. Cannot think of anything. My stay was very pleasurable and I would return again if I would be in the area again. I will recommend it to family and friends.

Just stayed at the hotel for good night sleep. Toured the city with relatives. My children felt comfortable than Super 8 Motel the last time we went to San Diego. Will surely check this hotel again next time we visit our relatives there.
