What can I do nearby?

The Mision Carlton Guadalajara Hotel is located on the outskirts of Guadalajara Historic Downtown; nearby you can find The Agua Azul Park (walking distance, a little further about 15 minutes' walk). There are The Guadalajara Cathedral, San Juan de Dios Market, Degollado Fine Arts Theater, Cabañas Institute of Art and Culture & Museum, The Mariachi Plaza, The Charro Arena, Lienzo Charro, Mexican Cowboy Shows, City Hall, Guadalajara City Museum, Arts & Crafts Market, typical Mexican food restaurants and much more.

Parque Agua Azul (Agua Azul Park), with the longest tradition and ancestry of Guadalajara. This public park dates from the late eighteenth century. It began as a playground for families, who liked to ride in carriages or on horseback through the streets inside. Today, with an area of 38 acres with extensive gardens in which there are about 1500 trees of different species. Inside are: butterfly garden, aviary and orchid garden, a band shell where shows are outdoors, the Garden of Art, the Avenue of the Musicians, the Parthenon (exhibition hall), a video room, educational trails and children's forum. The butterfly, called "The Butterfly House" is a big aluminum sphere where you can see the different butterflies that live in Jalisco. In the aviary, cages are equipped to the natural habitat of the bird’s home, so the public can enjoy its beauty. The orchid, pyramidal form, specimens of orchids is exhibited in the region. In addition to the above, the park has soccer field’s cafeteria and fast carpet and cement.
