We got a room with 1 full size bed and 2 twin beds and one fold-able mattress. It's nice to see the hotel is quite accommodating for 4 people in a room. The room rate was pretty cheap, but the location is very strategic. Across the street there is a grocery store and various Japanese restaurants. It's one block away from kalakaua ave where all the shops are located and it's very close to the beach. The only negatives are $14/day parking (which is pretty convenient) and $10/day wireless internet. We spotted a cockroach in the hotel lobby. It might have been dead because when we approached it, it just stayed there not moving. Or it might be some plastic cockroach someone left for pranks. The hotel staff didn't bother to remove the cockroach from the floor. There is denny's literally next door and there's a so so chinese american restaurant if you're up for a quick and cheap grub.

Breakfast prices were expensive which deterred our use of the facility.Half the price next door at Denny,s. Staff were friendly and helpful especially Daryl at the luggage area. Would stay there again.

I would never stay at this hotel again. We actually started our vacation here and then rent to a Marriott resort for 5 days and then returned on our last day. Both of our rooms were horrible! There was mold all over the bathroom and huge mold stains above the beds. The bath tub was disgusting too. I would have much rathered paid more to sleep in a nicer hotel. It didn't appear that the hotel decor has changed since the 70's. Everything was outdated and smelly even the sheets. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Being from Hawaii, I KNOW where to and not to stay. If you are not honeymooning, the two main priorites should be location and service. You want access to everything by foot or car and the staff needs to be as friendly as your neighbors back home. I thought things would be higher due to the rising price of fuel, but our total package was less than last year. Don't know about the rest of you, but I KNOW where we'll be staying at next year!

It was fine. Business trip, clean, friendly, and just what you need.

My husband and I just spent our 30th anniversary at the Miramar last week. It is a great place to stay! The staff are all so nice, and prompt. The hotel is very clean, houskeeping was very prompt as well. The carpets and decor are all updated and nice. the bed is one of the most comfortable hotels beds I ever slept in! It is convenient, and a doorway away from the International market Place. It is located in the middle of the action, and all busses and trolly stop there. Parking is the cheapest on Waikiki and very conveniently located an elevator ride away. Denny's in the lobby is handy and staff very nice. Fatty's Chinese is so good too! I would stay here again anytime!

our first room had tiny ants in it and the second room had some kind of bugs, pretty much one every couple of days. The bed was not comfortable, the pool was ice cold and they were painting and renovating out there so it was noisy and had sections roped off, there was no lei greeting and for the amount of money we paid for one of their top rooms its bad. There was also no mention of them doing a bunch of renovating. We also talked to at least 3-4 diffrent people who felt the same way and said they would never stay there again. We were really disappointed. There was one girl at the front desk who was great as was also the guy in the tour shop. The only thing that was nice is it's in a good location. We ended up deciding on this hotel because of the reviews that were left which we found didn't live up to the reality of it.

The Miramar was not at all what we expected. Our room was so small that two people had to crawl over each other. We could tell that the hotel was older, but the big brown bugs on the the bathroom sink were unacceptable! The hotel is just a few blocks from Wakiki Beach, but the hookers outside our hotel at night made us feel that we were in an undesirable part of Honolulu. We will not stay here and will not recommend the hotel to anyone.

I live on Oahu however until this weekend have not visited Waikiki due to the traffic and congestion. My wife and I stayed for the weekend for a romatic getaway it was nice but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. Hotel location and service were great. "Partial Ocean View" "Deluxe Room" not worth the extra price only sliver of ocean in view if leaning over balcony with binoculars. Room was not terribly filthy but did not have fresh clean feeling. Water in tub very slow to drain recommend bringing thick soled shower shoes or standing on edge of tub. Floors were not vacuumed in low traffic areas i.e. under tables, bed, near walls and corners of room. Walls and ceilling were dingy. Room had stange but not overpowering smell ... good reason to burn some romantic scented candles. Wakiki is very expensive place to vacation overall I rated this hotel fair as compared to other similar priced hotels. I did not agree with 4 out of 5 star rating that convinced me to stay here initially. My next trip I will try another hotel.

This was our first trip to Hawaii. We enjoyed our stay at the Miramar, close to shopping and a short walk to the beach.Had a little trouble with hot water at certain times but I think it was because everyone else was showering in the morning.Dont miss the hula show Friday hight by the pool it was alot of fun,and the Mai-Tais were great. Will be goin back next year but may spend a little extra and go with a hotel right on the beach.

The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room, although a bit outdated, was clean and felt relaxing. Only 2 complaints: the hall ways smelled of old tobacco smoke and the other complaint is that the only In-Hotel restaurant open for breakfast only offered a breakfast buffet. $$ whether you wanted to feed at the troth or if you just wanted a cup of coffee and toast. Saving grace was the coffee shop across the street with the most incredibly declicious cream puffs ... both savory and sweet.

Located in central Waikiki & close to everything: a few blocks from the beach, next door to the international market and all things one is looking for in the general area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bright with a nice balcony and a partial view of the ocean. Located close to public transportation and many resturants

The main problem I had - as businesstraveler was no internet services. Even after I was promised the service, I was repeatedly told to go to an internet cafe. If I wanted to do that I would have booked a cafe. I thought I was booking a real hotel with services. There was no help provided after many request. In my experience, no services when needed means no servives at all. Come on,for the price that place cost, they can aford internet services. And get it now! I would never stay their again without internet services.

This is my second time staying in this hotel. Last time was Nov 04. I had pretty good impression on this hotel during the trip in 04. This hotel room was nicer back then. But this time i was kind of disappointed. They should keep maintaining the hotel rooms. The restroom is clean, but old. The toliet bowl makes small annoying noise all the times. The bed is too soft. Good thing the location is good. The buffet breakfast is great.

The best thing about the Miramar at Waikiki is the location, which is fabulous, in the heart of Waikiki. I chose this hotel because it was cheaper than the rest in this area. However, the hotel seemed drab and dingy. I also had to wait two hours for my room to be ready at check-in. Next time, I'll pay more so that my accommodations can match my surroundings.

Overall for price the room was comfortable and clean. Hotel staff very friendly and courteous. Location was good, only one block from beach. Parking for the area was good and only $10/night. If looking for a place to sleep and be close to beach this is a good hotel. Only real complaint is that there was no Internet access in room or in lobby. Told to go across the street to coffee bar.

"Ordered room with two beds and they gave us a twin, double, twin room. Talked to front desk and they quickly changed rooms to two doubles. A couple blocks from the beach, well within walking distance. About what I expected for middle end price range. Would stay again."
