If you have a short fuse, don't stay at the Mirage. This place would try the patients of Mother Theresa. our Room keys worked less than half the time. My 2 bedroom suite was a one bedroom suite connected to an adjoining room, which I kept getting locked out of because their was no key to the connecting room once the door was shut. We paid to have concierge service with my suite; however, when I called them to assist me in getting show tickets I was told to call another hotel for details.(I was told to call) I'm still having trouble proccessing this. I have NEVER experienced the likes of such utter laxiness in my life. No one ever had a smile on their face at in this place. The Mirage felt very dark. My husband, young child and I walked across the street and the aura was great. It felt like I had left the devils den and stepped into a bright peaceful wonderland.

My wife, and I stayed at the Mirage ,when we went to Vegas for the first time. We see no other reason to try other hotels, because this was such a great experience. Everything was, as we thought it would be, from the arrival to the departure, and the staff were phenomenal. The pool was enough for a return trip alone, and you'll find that you are close to a lot of action on that part of the "Strip". We will be staying at the Mirage many more times in the future, and I highly recommend you try it, to see what you're missing.

TRAVELERS & VACATIONERS BEWARE..... Hotel has NO non -smoking rooms... Confirm your room ammenities, you will be given less, just to see if you care... Allow extra time for your stay, you will spend a lot of time at the front desk having your room key reprogrammed to access the elevators... Your own your own with the room smells, who knows which one you will get.... Would not recommend..

Great place and so did the young adults who can't handle their booze. Lots of screaming in the hallways and multiple knocks on our door as the drunks walked down the hallway. Hard to sleep unless you pass-out.

Everything was great; however, the pool area was cowarded with no space.

Minor gripes about housekeeping and the fact that their large pool was closed for repairs & repainting (not really a big deal in December) but on the whole we loved the hotel and enjoyed our stay immensely. Service was great, food was great and the hotel's location on the strip was perfect. We would definitely stay there again.

Our hotel room at the Mirage was very, very nice. Plasma TV, marble bathroom and the most comfortable beds we ever slept on. Lines at the restaurant very long in the AM so look for the two coffe bars located in the lobby. We would certainly stay there again.

I could not believe that this was classified as a 4 star hotel, i have stayed in two stars and been more satisfied. First of all, the picture of the room was a misrepresentation of what the room actually looked like, and this room had clearly not been updated since the eighties. The linens were obviously aged and should have been replaced some time ago, the television was totally outdated and was splashed with some kind of liquid. When we approached the front desk, there was no obvious line, it seemed more of an unruly mob. When we tried to check in, they told us that it usually took them 24 - 48 hrs to receive the reservation although when i booked with orbitz at every other hotel it took them all of 5 mins from the time i booked for the reservation to be present. We went to our room and it was a smoking room, although non-smoking was requested and we had to have our room switched. This new room had no view at all, granted the initial "view" was not much to begin with, and therefore not difficult to part with. When we returned to our room later that night our key did not work and we had to wait for security to let us in. When I filled the bathtub two long hairs appeared. Early in the morning I lay awake from the noise of what I believe was the pipes above me as a few of my neighbors showered. During this trip we also stayed at another '4 star hotel', paid less for the room and the quality was far, far above what we saw at the mirage. This hotel needs to be seriously updated to deserve this rating!! I would not have been as critical of the hotel if I did not have 4 star expectations. The only positive thing that I might say is that I did not encounter a problem with the customer service.

We were in Vegas for 4 nights/5 days in early April '09. Our room: Room was really good. We had a Premium View room with a fantastic view of the Strip. Got to watch the volcano every night from our window. Room was spacious and three of us are women/girls. The beds are fantastic! I have real issues with hotel beds but these were fabulous. The bathroom looked great and was clean but wasn't very spacious. Two people could have difficulty being in there at once unless one was in the shower. The staff was great and since we had driven, we especially found the Bell Service people extremely friendly and helpful and recommend utilizing their services. They took care of everything when we first got there and delivered to our room, and came when we left and held everything until we pulled around to pick it up. It sure beat hauling everthing up and down ourselves. Food: With two picky teens (17 & 14) most of the places didn't offer much they would like. We ate at the buffet, Cravings, once and it was okay but pricey, over $100 for the four of us. The other menus had nothing our kids were looking to have. The Carib Cafe was pretty good, still pricey but had some choices the kids liked. Room Service is ridiculous! Double check prices when ordering and at $4 for a 12 oz can of Coke: skip it! Elevators: 6 of them and only 2 to 4 worked the whole time we were there which made for some long waits at times. Kids wished they'd had an arcade or something for kids and want to stay at Excalibur or NY NY if we go again. We would stay again if it was just the adults.

This was our first family vacation with our adult sons in 10 years and it was just supposed to be fun and relaxing. We booked 5 nights at the Mirage and everything else was whatever we felt like doing after we arrived. It did not start well when storms made us miss our connecting flight from Salt Lake City to Vegas and had to spend our first night of vacation in Utah. I called the Mirage as soon as we landed in Utah to ensure our rooms would be held for us until the next morning. I was assured that our rooms would be ready immediately upon check-in. Since we did not have our luggage in Utah, we were looking forward to checking in and freshening up. We were not happy when we tried to check in the next morning at 9 AM and were told that our rooms had been released; that nothing would be ready until after 3 PM. Apparently Reservations did not notify the Front Desk that I had called the night before to hold the rooms. I had to argue with the front desk to find us available rooms immediately and to provide us with the upgraded rooms that I had reserved in the first place. After an hour, we finally received temporary rooms and were told that our upgraded rooms would be ready after 1 PM. However, when we moved to our upgraded rooms, the room keys did not work and we had to spend another two hours waiting for the front desk to rectify the situation. I expect better service from a resort hotel with a 4-star rating. I don't expect to spend almost 4 hours getting into the correct rooms with the correct room keys. With regard to staff service, for the most part the staff was friendly, not exactly what we expected but OK. We've had better service from other hotels with both 4-star and below ratings. The in-house spa attendants were very rushed and not attentive. The cafe staff was slow and inattentive to the point that we chose to go to the Paris buffet for our next breakfast. The Ultimate Texas Hold-Em table dealer was very friendly and patient since we were novice players; how

Just came back from a 4 night stay at the mirage, this was my second time in vegas but my boyfriend's first. The hotel rooms are very nice since they are redone but the bathrooms aren't the best craftsmanship, hard for two ppl to get ready in there at once but otherwise everything you need for a carefree vacation. Went to Onda which was not that great, the food either seemed watered down in flavor or just poorly seasoned. We also tried Stack Steakhouse, GREAT food, everything my boyfriend and I ordered was wonderful. We were on a budget so the hotel location was great, although the denny's across the street always had an hour+ wait the shops on either side of the hotel had nice food options for breakfast and lunch as well as the serendipity cafe on the strip in front of Ceaser's is fairly priced and quite yummy. The mirage staff was very nice and the check-in grl was generous enough to give us a room on the 14th floor overlooking the strip when I told her the trip was a surprise gift. Security also starts checking keys for safety in the evening before you can get to the elevators, so you would have to come down and get any guests you might have visiting from other hotels. Finally, if you want to see any shows, most are offered at the tix4tonight stations around the strip at a discount ranging from * off original price except for the Cirque du Solie shows so get those ahead of time.

The hotel was very relaxing and quiet, which we didn't expect in vegas. The location was in the middle of everything. There service was wonderful because they were very polite. Our favorite part of the hotel was the pool, THE BARE!

Took a short (3 night) trip to Las Vegas; both of us were first-timers. Being from Michigan, the temperature definitely took some getting used to. Even though The Mirage is prime location right in the middle of the Strip, you'll still walk ALOT! All the hotels are big and the floorplans aren't great since the casino is the center of everything. Our room was very nice and stylish and the air-conditioning worked well. The bed was ultra-comfortable. Only problem was a strange smell, kind of like sawdust... but got used to it really fast. We ate at Onda Italian, Ramba Brazilian Steakhouse, and BLT Burger, all of which were very good and had no wait. We also visited the Private Garden and Dolphin Preserve by the pools. This was very cool, we went around 1pm and saw the trainers exercise the adult dolphins, the baby dolphin, and the baby cheetah cub. We LOVED KA by Cirque du Soleil at the Venetian, my fiance was skeptical but he really enjoyed it.

We stayed on the way back to San Diego from a trip to Utah. Our reasoning for picking the Mirage was because the Beatles Love show was there and we had bought tickets for it.

We wanted to stay here for a long time but the cost was not comparable to the other hotels on the strip until this last visit to Vegas. We had a great room and the staff was very accommodating. The restaurants were very good. Cannot wait till we can come back again.
