The breakfast was AWESOME! However, it was VERY hot in our room and it was a cool day outside. We had a hard time sleeping due to the heat. When we opened the windows, it was too loud outside to sleep. Also, this is in the Gay district of Cologne- located between the Gay Sex Shop and many Gay singles clubs. It was also Gay pride weekend and people were loudly singing songs in front of the hotel until 5 am. We thought about calling the front desk to have them run them off, but I think they were guests!! Not a great experience due to the sleepless night. Breakfast made up for it!

The room was tiny and hot. Very noisy on the street. We wern't happy there so asked if we could check out early the next day and cancel our third day so we could go to Amsterdam early. The concierge on duty said there would be no problem so we booked a room in Amsterdam. The next morning when we checked out the woman at the desk was extremely rude and insisted on charging us for the unused night. We wouldn't have minded a "booking" contract for the third day if they had let us know the night before and not been so rude about it at check out. Overall it spoiled our perception of Cologne in general and definitely left us wishing we had gone ANYPLACE else.
