Description:
The Hotel Minerva is located on the Lista di Spagna, one of the main thoroughfares of the city, 200yds from the railway station and 300 yds away from the Casino. History: Our adventure starts back in 1939 when the determination of granpa Gigi made him open a small inn called Moble Minerva, notwithstanding the war looming at the horizon. Since than, our hotel now called Hotel Minerva & Nettuno has continued along that original line, improving and modernizing, but still retaining its reputation of homely, family-run hotel. After 63 anni Gigi, the grandson of the original founder, still continues with that same determination that is a hallmark of our group. Today, the Minerva Hotel is able to provide its customers with an excellent quality/price ratio, still retaining a homely and simple feel.

LISTA DI SPAGNA 230, VENICE, VENICE, IT, 30100
Dining:
Some of the best venetian restaurants are located nearby within walking distance. Our Concierge will be happy to assit you with your selection and reservations. Top recommended: Visit our Restaurant in Venice, and see all our tipical food from venice tradition. 'The 4 Rusteghi ' is situated in Campo Ghetto Novo one of the most ancient historical site in what is called the Minor Venice (that part of town which is unknown by the majority of tourists but is neither less interesting nor less beautiful than places like San Marco Square and Rialto Bridge).

PleasantThe MAIN thing to note is that there was no Airconditioning. The Hotel is well placed on one of the main routes from the train station (less than 3 minute walk with suitcase). The rooms are of a good size. One shower to cater for 30+ hotel rooms and 2 toilets. The rooms could be on the main drag and therefore potentially noisy, the rooms really could do with airconditioning as Venbice does get very humid. The hotel did provide a fan that eased the situation.

This is a great hotel for those travelling to Venice on a budget. It is in a great location near the train station, easy to find and although the reception is quite small the people were very helpful and friendly. We had a double room with a shared bathroom. Our room was really spacius and clean and the toilet and shower room were always clean and perfectly fine. Breakfst was included and although the 'restaurant' (some tables on the ground floor) was a bit cramped, breakfast was great, a pot of coffee and a good choice of food was an excellent way to start the day walking round this beautiful city.

Basic hotel, good value and location. Nothing luxurious just room to sleep after sightseeing. It was clean and convenient. Would stay here again

the first room they tried to give us was brown with damp and stank, the mould had gone down the wall and was on the mattress of the bed, we complained and the only other option that night was a tiny single room that they had shoved a camp bed in to make it a double, it opened out onto a terrace that other people could access, this would have been nice had the door from our room not have a cracked window and it actually shut properly. we asked again to be moved if possible as we didnt feel our stuff was secure, the rude, arrogant dismissive receptionist/manager (who claimed he wasnt because he didnt want to deal with the problem) just shook his head and said there was nothing he could do. finally on our third day we were offered another room which was fairly good in comparison to the other 2, however the sink was blocked in this room and sewage came back up. hotel not adequately signposted. would not stay here again.

Close to the station and vaporetto which suited our needs, however the hotel is on the main pedestrian thoroughfare so the room was quite noisy at night. There was an airconditioning unit fitted in the room, however it wasn't possible to use it.

We visited in mid August. Far below expectations for the price we paid. The breakfast was poor (supermarket 'value quality' jam tarts and yoghurt cans). On Day 2 the yoghurt ran out and were not replenished for the remaining 2 mornings we were there. Our small room showed signs of wear and tear. In particular no air condition-manager had audacity to ask us for additional 10euros per night although we insisted this was not stated on their website at time of booking. On busy street, every morning woke up to 15 minutes tolling of bells. Was very glad to leave hotel minerva&nettuno!

Very clean. Very easy to get to the hotel once you are in Venetia. Small room but all conditions including clean private bathroom. Had no problem. I will come back there with no fear.

For a place like venice, Hotel Minerva is ideally located next to the station. You can catch the water bus on the grand canal, you can walk to Rialto in 15 minutes and you can find great shops in the vicinity. Hotel staff are nice and helpful. Rooms are of good quality considering that you pay only 70-80 Euros a night. Rooms are cleaned every day. There are no great views from the room, and breakfast is very minimal, and rooms can get a bit warm on a sunny day in summer, but I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. i booked a double room and was given a single room which had a makeshift bed attached to the single bed. it was tiny and i asked for a bigger room, which i was refused. the breakfast was pitiful and staff at reception was for the most part very rude. you could find a much nicer place for the came price, if not cheaper.
