The staff at the hotel was pleasant although the gentleman who checked us in laid it on pretty think. I was obvious he wanted us to feel like he was doing us a favor and expected a big tip in return, it was kind of uncomfortable. The rooms are very big for NYC, especially the bathrooms. The shade in the bedroom was pretty much broken and almost fell on my husband when he tried to raise it in the morning. There was also a huge crane outside our window so we were up every morning pretty early from the outside noise. The price could not be beat though. The bed was comfortable as were the linens. The bathrooms in the renovated rooms didn't really look renovated. It seems like when a hotels slaps a flat panel TV in the room that makes the room renovated. Still the stay was pleasant and the value was excellent. We didn't eat at all in the hotel so no reviews for that.

The size of the room. The rooms are dated and run down.

I stayed for one night at the Millennium UN Plaza hotel and would stay again if I were in the area for business. The staff were all very courteous. The hallways were quiet. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The best aspect of the place is the views (aside from the convenience if you have meetings nearby). The only aspect of the hotel that could be improved is the decor...which was probably modern back in the 1980's (the bar in particular makes you feel like you're on the set of a movie). So, overall, this would be a good hotel to stay in if you were in New York for a night or two for meetings nearby given it is quiet and peaceful. If you are going with a family to see the sights of New York or on a romantic weekend getaway, you may want to stay somewhere more central in a more bustling neighborhood.

Awesome staff. Great hotel. The view was AMAZING....I needed fragrance free linens and towels and they had them specially washed for me. Wonderful. Thanks!!!!!!! for everything!!!!! It was my birthday and they made me reservations at a local restraunt and when we arrived the restraunt was well aware that it was my birthday and were almost waiting for us. It made me feel really special. Thanks again!!!!! I will stay again.

We were impressed by the friendly greetings and helpfulness of the staff from the time we checked in until we checked out. The room featured a great view of NY and a kitchenette. The hotel served a great Sunday morning buffet. The hotel is across the street from the UN buildings, and has easy access to public transportation. All in all a great place to stay when in town.

The view from my room was excellent. Towels were not so clean - stains seen on unused ones. Worth staying if the price is right. Walking distance from Grand Central station is a major plus.

For the price, this was a really great experience. The hotel room was very classy and modern and the view was absolutely amazing. It was also nice to have a pool and take a swim in the morning. The pool also had a great view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

It's all about the view!!! Breathtaking. Could see from Brooklyn to the Hudson and everything between. The lights of the city at night were unbelievablle. Room was a good size, updated and comfortable. Bathroom was modern. Hot water always available, no matter what time of the morning.

The Millennium Hotel UN PLaza was a nice place to stay. The room was a nice size. It had a very modern look. I liked the fact that the room had central air and not just a window unit.

Stay from December 17 to December 21, 2008.... What a perfect stay, walking distance to everything, beautiful room...Lots of hot water. The view from our window was breath taking!! The people that work this hotel were the best, We ate every morning at John Cafe on the cornor of 2nd Ave and 44th street. What great lunch and breadfast for the money! They were three of us and we only paid $18. per meal for three, for a breadfast fit for a King. I saw my first snow fall and snow, how beautiful. I will be back and stay at this hotel again. It the perfect place to see everything!!! if you get a chance go to Bond 45 restruante to eat it in Time square, little pricy, but it worse it, the food out of this world. See you soon Millennium UN Plaza New York.

From the moment I arrived at this hotel I knew we picked the right one. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were always nice and clean when we came in for the day. The view from the room was amazing. To the left was the UN alongside the East River. To our right was a beautiful view of the Chrysler Building, as well as the Empire State Building. A short distance away is Grand Central Terminal where you can get on a subway to almost any area in NYC. All in all, I will definitely stay here again.

The room was very modern and the view was excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were treated like royalty! The location was in a quite area, but it was only a few blocks to the main subway terminal and about 7 blocks to Times Square. We would stay at this hotel again!

The room was spacious and the view was spectacular. The room was a bit shabby and had no coffee maker, but otherwise comfortable. Clean, attentive staff, great location for my business purposes, incredible view of the city.

I was hoping for a good view of the city at the hotel and we had a fabulous view. Woke up looking at the Empire State Building each morning. The lights at night were not to be believed. Great all the way around.

I took my 12 year old daughter for her birthday and this was her first trip to NYC. The hotel staff was fabulous and made her feel like a queen. They gave us a beautiful room with a panoramic view/ corner unit on the 38th floor. The Crysler Builiding and the Empire State Building were right in front of our window with a river view from the other window. The room was very quiet. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. The level of customer service was amazing. I have stayed in many NY hotels for a lot more money and was never treated this well. Room was modern, comfortable and clean. Air conditioner was noisey and bathroom a bit small but fine overall. Pool was heated but very cold so not a great expereince. No jacuzzi but there is a sauna. Good location if you like a good walk every day to get to Times Sq and uptown but taxis were always available. Perfect location if you like a neighborhood feel and want less energy then Times Sq. I would stay here again.

This was certainly the best hotel that we had ever stayed in they treated us like royalty. Everyone was friendly and always asked if we needed anything, or help. I don't think that there was a bad view of the city in any window. The only negitave thing that I can say is the bed was hard, but that's ok because everything else good outweighed that small complaint. Yes, we will now return to this same spot as much as we can.

Views from the room were spectacular. Rooms were extremely run down, walls marked up, decor dated. Needs a serious upgrade. Pleasant staff and large rooms for New York City. The downside, the rooms were rundown. Walls were marked up and furniture was damaged. I had to request a room change after the first night due to the shaky bed frame and general appearance of the room. I was moved to a corner room with a spectacular view, but the room was still lacking for a luxury hotel. The staff was very attentive and accommodating.

Overall, we found this to be a good place in downtown Manhattan. The location makes it easy to access the subway system at Grand Central. The staff were unwaveringly friendly and the concierge gave some excellent food recommendations. We had a cityscape room and the views were nothing short of spectacular. Overall, we would recommended the place, There were a few small problems. The first was that we were not asked if we wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. The room we got had clearly just been occupied by a smoker and REEKED of stale cigarettes. It was bad enough that my wife picked up an air freshener for our room when we passed by a CVS on the first day. The second problem was the lack of hot water. The two of us were on the 37th floor and whoever showered second always got a pretty lukewarm shower. Finally, avoid the breakfast buffet unless you have money to BURN. it is really tiny (four chafing dishes of eggs, potatoes, and bacon and a couple cheese/fruit plates) and they do not tell you the price in advance--I was SHOCKED to spend $ for two people to eat a buffet that most restaurants would not charge $ for on a Sunday morning. If they had told us the price in advance, we would have laughed, left and grabbed a bagel around the corner.

I stayed at another sister property The Millennium Broadway and had such a great experience there I decided to try this hotel. I had the same great customer service!! The staff really cateres to your needs and both times they accommidated my early check in and even upgraded me! Wow!! In all future travels, I will continue to stay at The Millennium Hotels!!
