We liked the neatness room and the location was good. But the elevator was broken the whole time we were there. The repair people came several times, but didn't fix - so we needed to walk to 3rd floor room every time we wanted to go to our room...even after running the Anchorage Marathon...our reason for coming.

Let me start by saying that I'm not an overly picky traveller. As long as the hotel I am staying in is safe, clean, and has friendly staff; I'm happy. However, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Especially for the prices they are charging! When we arrived at the hotel from the airport, we were about 1/2 hour early for check-in. When I approached the counter I was rudely told to come back when they were ready. We sat in their lobby and waited with all of our luggage in tow. About 40 minutes later there was still no announcement that they were now checking in. I went back to the desk to finally check in and again we were brushed off in a hurry. We finally got to our room, at a first glance everything looks fine. However, when you take a closer look you will notice the cobwebs on the ceilings, drapes, and the dirty windows. My mom then went to take a shower after a long (almost 10 hrs) trip, and when she turned on the water it was brown! We had to let it run for about 5 minutes before it cleared. I have travelled quite a bit over the years and I must say that I was highly disappointed at the experience that we had at the Millenium Hotel in Anchorage. I will not be staying there again, and will not recommend it to anyone I know.

We liked being beside the lake and watching the bush planes take off. It was too dark. There were a lot of people waiting to check in with us. Ridiculous. Our room was a double bed occupancy and we had to have a cot since there was four adults and one child. We had to pay and extra $20.00 for the cot. After we got the cot, we had no room hardly to walk around in the room. We were all over each other. We had to change rooms because we had no heat in our room. We heard others talking about things wrong in their room also.

The hotel staff was very disorganized. We reserved 2 rooms via travelocity and the hotel for 5 hours refused to provide the 2nd room claiming no record. After an extended hassle and showing them them the reservation the 2nd couple was given a room. Then they charged us for the 2nd room (actually they charged for the more expensive room), but it had been paid for by the travel agency. Still trying to sort that out. Bottom line - would not deal with again. PS: Breakfast in restaurant was excellent, albeit very slow to come.

I liked the architecture very much. The situation near the lake and the airport. The shuttle bus provided by the hotel. Very well located. Cleanliness. Employees very polite. Very helpful.

We stayed there Christmas Eve as we were up visiting family for Christmas. For a non smoking hotel, our room smelled of stale smoke. When we entered the room, both the light and television were on. The bedspread looked like someone had sat on it to watch TV. Perhaps an employee taking a break? I don't know. Staff was pleasant enough and offered to switch rooms for us after I called to let them know the room spelled of smoke. I did not mention anything about the TV and light being on to them. Otherwise the room was decent enough but a little higher priced than other hotels of similar quality in the area.

"Spent 3 nights here on business. It is more like a hunting lodge and my room, although large was old and looking a bit tattered around the edges. I had a 4th floor room that looked over part of the lake, but also looked over the dumpster and restaurant loading dock...very noisy early in the AM. "

Maintenance needs improving along with some attention to detail such as corners of vinyl wall covering being loose and dogeared. Rooms are a nice size and the Millennium is a class hotel - it deserves better. Elevators doors are also quite noisy. Food service and catering are outstanding.

Lovely room, friendly employees, efficient airport shuttle. I appreciated that the already paid Priceline charge for the room was sufficient and that we were not charged extra for two beds for two adults.

"Spent 3 nights here in May '06. Nice hotel, good size rooms with comfortable beds. Restaurant (breakfast 2 days) was good, though it was included in our Club room price, or else we would probably have eaten elsewhere as I've read there are good restaurants nearby. I did notice several people carting their own bags to/from their cars, so I think bellmen are scarce. We used the shuttle from the airport and the driver was very nice, even cleaned up my luggage after noticing something had leaked inside."

Staff was very friendly. This hotel was probably nice several years ago. It has fallen into a state of disrepair. The wallpaper in the room was peeling, the carpet was threadbare, one of the elevators was not working, the furnishings were old.

The restaurant and bar both have good views of the lake and service is prompt. They charged me to use wireless internet service in my room which seemed ridiculous considering the price of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with comfortable beds. However, they charged me for wireless internet services in my room. Also, there is an in-window air conditioner that did a poor job of cooling our room.

It was close to the airport. Rooms were dated. This hotel was better suited for family vacation for fishing and hunting than for business.
