The Hometown Inn is an affordable lodging option located approximately five miles from the Cedar Point Amusement Park. The hotel is about one mile from Lake Erie. For onsite recreation, enjoy the hotel's indoor pool, whirlpool, and game room. Guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast and coffee with their room rate. Although there is not a full service restaurant inside the hotel, there are dining destinations nearby. Within a quarter-mile, guests will be able to reach KFC, Lerny's Restaurant, Burger King, Arby's (adjacent to hotel), Harbor Bay Sports Bar (adjacent to hotel), and Subway. To suit guests' needs, the hotel offers a meeting room, free parking, free local telephone calls, and laundry services. There are 82 rooms at the hotel. Children under 16 stay free in parent's room. Non-smoking rooms and rooms equipped for the physically challenged are available upon request. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, an alarm clock radio, coffeemaker, dataport telephone, desk, hairdryer, television with free movie channel, and voicemail. We were very happy with the location, service and cleanlyness of this hotel. The service was friendly and informative, the pool was clean and warm the property was in excellent condition. the infrequent trains were not to noisy. Definetly would stay here again.

This is a great location for a Cedar Point weekend! The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you have any energy after going to the park, the pool is opened 24 hrs! This is the second time we've stayed here and was consistently a good experience. Would definately stay again.

We just spent a night at Microtell Inn and Suites in Huron near Cedar Point and thought the room was very clean, the service was excellent and the breakfast in the morning was good (cold cereals, bagels, muffins, coffee, juice, etc.) One thing I want to warn all travellers about are the trains! I stayed on the second floor and had trains wake me up all night long starting from about 11PM to just after 5AM. There are train tracks which are less then half a kilometer away from the hotel and these trains really lay on their horns while passing. I thought the hotel was exceptional especially for the price but would never stay again because of the poor location next to the train tracks.

Booked a room after reading good reviews of this chain in consumer reports. Nice pool area and free wireless internet was a nice plus. Never heard the trains the other reviewers mentioned. If you can, get a room on 3rd floor as floors are thin and kids playing above us were loud very early in am. Don't plan on cont breakfast filling you up. Great friendly staff and very clean.

We arrived at the hotel at 5pm. We opened the door to our suite and it was filthy dirty. The pillows from the coach were thrown on the floor, the beds were not made, there was food all over the counter and much more.I saw a cleaning lady in the hall and she went down to the desk. I also went down to the desk and I was not happy. We had dinner plans with friends at 5:30pm which we were not able to keep. We brought up all our luggage and we weren't about to bring it back down three floors and bring it back in again. So there my family and I sat for 45 minutes until they cleaned our room.We were sitting in the wonderful hallway. Also, when we went to bed and pulled out the sofa bed there lay the dirty sheet and blanket from the people before us all wrinkled and dirty. The man at the counter was pleasant and he told me I had to contact your office.I almost forgot, our sink in the suite was clogged up so we couldn't use it our first night . It was fixed the following evening. I don't understand what the problem was. It wasn't like we got to the hotel early. We got there about 5pm and it should have been cleaned. It just started our vacation off on a negative note. I hope you will compensate us for this, this was really unexceptable. Thanks for your time. Millie Mercado-Dolan

This hotel offers a lot in comparison to the prices that are offered. Yes, you do here trains occasionally but it's not horrible and the staff is very accomodating. For what you pay...It's a great choice.

I'm starting to become loyal to the Microtel brand, in the sense that I'll pay a little more to stay at one. They provide a solid deal for the money, with the strong point being consistently neat, clean, and tidy, and things like the air conditioning unit actually work! We stayed here because we went to Cedar Point amusement park. The hotel isn't as close as most, but it's still conveniently on the major roads. The pool was nice for the kids to cool off in after being in the humidity at Cedar Point all day. Only negative would be that at the free continental breakfast, they quickly ran out of table space.

Trains came at 4:30 in the morning and knocked you out of bed. If you stay get a room in the front of the motel. Breakfast also needs some kids cereal.

trains running all night long made it impossible to get a good nights sleep - we stayed 2 nights!! Awful!!!!
