Inside lobby floor was wet and pool was closed on the morning we were leaving and caused problems since my son wanted to go swimming. room above had small children and you could hear them jumping and running constantly. Staff was nice, room was clean. at 8.30am was hugh crowd at breakfast almost no food left and no one refilling.

I stayed overnight at this location in order to attend a funeral the next morning. The staff was very courteous, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the location was just a couple of miles from the funeral home. Staying at this location helped make going to the funeral a much less stressful situation for me. Thank you very much.

The beds were very comfortable. Nothing. We were in town for our daughter's college graduation and found out that all parking would be in public garages down town. That posed a problem because with the cargo carrier on top of our van it was too tall for garages. The hotel manager was very helpful. He allowed us to store our cargo carrier in an unused conference room until we were ready to leave. Without his assistance, we would not have been able to park down town and had to pay for a taxi instead.

The Microtel in Gardendale was just what we needed. Near the highway (I-65), Walmart and many decent restaurants nearby. Jim and Nick's Bar-B-Q was within sight of the hotel. It was good food and very family friendly. We had more space for our family of 5 (three small children) than we experinced at other locations on this trip. Outdoor pool was just fine and the complimentary breakfast had enough basics to satisfy. Great stay for the price.
