Dining/shops within 1 mile away, good price.

The bed was comfortable and the air worked very well. There was multiple colored walls; no refrigerator or ironing board. I was very displeased with this hotel. I only stayed one night and wouldn't have stayed another if I had to. The walls were different colors. I did not have a refrigerator or ironing board in the room. The towels were see-through and rough. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked very well.

My room was absolutly horrible. The bed covering had several huge burn holes. The room was extremly small and the furniture was very old. The breakfast was bad the coffee was watered down and not much of a selection.

Was small, but efficient. the continental breakfast was a lot to be desired. Very friendly staff and housekeeping was excellent.

Clean, good bathroom. TV with wrong remote, no coffee machine, coffee cold in Foyer. For a traveler who just wanted to sleep there it was OK but was really basic. Room small with no closet for clothes.

The rooms are usually dirty, and are cramped and smell bad, the front desk staff are little to no help with anything, not to mention have ""can't be bothered"" attitudes. I've stayed here several times on business because it's cheap and close to work, but it's not pleasant.

I have stayed at Microtels before and have had good experiences. This hotel was a nightmare. The police were leaving for some incident when I arrived. The hotel was dark outside and in all public areas, and in a bad neighborhood. There were stale, old, dirty smells throughout. There was an unbelievable level of scum and filth on everything. The extra toilet paper roll was soaked with urine. There were stains on the sheets, scum on the phone, flakes of dirt in the AC, peeling paint, broken face of the clock radio, stained tub, no key in the in-room safe, dirty windows, broken curtain, and scummy light switches. I could hear people talking next door through the walls. There was mismatched and uneven paint on the walls and bubbles under it that looked like they were caused by a water problem. I was afraid to touch anything, even the door to get out. There was greasy scum on the door near the peephole. I saw a cockroach in the hall. This was the scariest hotel experience I have ever had. I setup another hotel and left. The Indian management company refuses to refund my money because they checked me in automatically at 7pm, when I arrived at 10pm. Then claimed that I had stayed longer than 15 minutes. This was the worst and shortest hotel stay in my life. The staff was polite and said they could only refund my second night. The refund never came through. They promised to have the manager call me, but she never did.

It was not a very nice hotel room. The sheets had a few stains on them on one side so I slept on the other side. The staff was friendly.

We were treated well by housekeeping staff. The front desk was very prompt in helping our needs. We brought our dog & 3 birds also.for a extra fee, We were evacuees from Hurricane Gustave. I guess overall we were treated fair in the priceing of our stay.Motel was in a good location, close to a lot of restraunts. I would recommend this motel to everyone.

I stayed at the Microtel while in Birmingham for a 2 day conference. For the price, it was a decent hotel, one exit away from nice places to eat, a Walmart and a few minutes from downtown. The room was what I expected for $56.00 a night--no frills. You may want to bring your own personal hygiene items and air freshner for the room. Overall, my stay was o.k.

My stay was very comfortable. There was a desk with a chair. There was a nice window bed area. Everything was very clean. It was in a good neighborhood close to restaurants. I felt very safe there with my seven year old son.

The Microtel at Summit Pwky, Birmingham is close to what one may expect of a discount hotel. The hotel is very simple and relatively low-priced. They offer a continental breakfast each morning which was marginal. The hotel smelled musty, almost like urine. However, I figured it was related to the humidity. I would stay there again if on business in the area.
