A really excellent hotel with very friendly staff, gorgeous rooms and a great location if you are driving - about 20 minutes walk to the centre of Florence. The room was very clean and beautifully appointed

It's a shame that there is no possibility for having breakfast in a common room. The rest was perfect.

Great, central location. Big clean rooms. Nice garden. South of the river has lots of interesting bars and restaurants which feel less touristy than the other side, yet still close to the main points of interest. Suppose it's a bit pricey, but worth it if you want something nice and central.

Angela came to the door to great us as we arrived and showed us to our wonderful room on the second floor, which was most impressive: very high ceiling, beautiful furniture, nice kitchen inside a closet and two large windows with great curtains looking at a green garden. It felt like being shown a room in a palace. The bathroom was nice, the towels perfect and the television set very convenient. We stayed for a week. Coming back from the various tourist activities was always a pleasant experience. We were given a key to the villa so we could come in any time and it was a pleasure to walk into the peaceful place and enter our huge room. Transportation to and from the city was easy: five minutes in one of two buses that stop a block and a half from the hotel and go directly downtown. Using the local transportation gave us a feeling of living in Italy and it took us away from the very touristy center of Florence, which can be overwhelming. I would definitely go back to this palatial place and I would definitely recommend it as a wonderful place to stay in Florence.

A fantastic stay. Room was large, recently & tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Service was superb. Highly recommended.

The best way to see Florence, in my opinion. Lodged on the tree-lined Viale Michaelangelo, it is a welcome rest from the hub-bub and crowds of the city, but it's only a 20-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, or 20 minutes in the other direction to the church of San Miniato, with a stellar view of the entire city! The rooms are huge, especially by European standards, and include a kitchenette inside a large armoire. Angela and Cherubino are friendly, and will help you with your Italian if you like. We have already decided to stay here on our next trip to Florence.

Would highly recommend this small hotel - very friendly personal service of the highest order, and although it is a relatively old building the rooms have been refurbished to high standard and include everything you would expect, including free broadband connection. The only possible drawback to some people may be that it is not in the very centre of Florence, it is about a 15-20min walk, we actually preferred this as it is in a quiet area, and the walk is flat, or you can very easily catch a bus. All in all a very comfortable stay.

Wow! What a beautiful little Palazzo (Palace). You get a very spacious and impecably clean room. The bathroom was also large and spotless. Our room even had a little kitchen. The location, while not in the heart of the historic district, is conveniently located near restraunts, shops, etc. We walked into town one day and it was no big deal. The other days we took a bus and that was very easy. The owners speak english and are wonderful hosts. Just be carefull with the taxi when arrive into town. Apparently there are 3 Michelangiolo hotels in town. This is a "residence" not a "hotel" the taxi guy told me. So have the address on hand so you can give it to the driver.

The hotel was very nice with an extremely helpful staff. It can be a little difficult to find, so if you are driving in yourself take a good map. Overall, I would highly recommend it.

Our room was very large by European standards and very clean. The room was on the ground floor and opened out to a lovely courtyard. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The desk clerk spoke fluent English, which was a tremendous help. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to most of the tourist attractions, but the weather was lovely, and we enjoyed the stroll. Other than the magnificent art galleries, one of our favorite moments was attending a Gregorian Chant concert at a nearby church. We also enjoyed a carriage ride in the downtown area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the residence. The directions given to help find it were accurate and the owner/managers were more than helpful. Angela and Cherubin assisted us with travel advice, maps, internet connections, restaurant bookings, return of hire car and were always interested in where we had been and how we were faring during our 3 night stay with them. We travelled as a family of four adults, parents and 23 and 20 year old, and the adjoining apartments were more than adequate for our needs. Lovely juice, tea, coffee etc provided in rooms and plenty of water. Lovely place to stay. Nice restaurant close and others about 15-20 mins walk. Very highly recommended

Not really a hotel closer to a guest house, quite a distance out of town (c.30mins gentile walk along riverbank) but nice building and good size room.

Angela and Cherubino were great and extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was downstairs next to the front desk so it could be a bit noisy in the morning and evening, but that was probably the only room with that issue. We loved the back patio and the spacious room ... and we even had a kitchen!

The Residence is an excellent base for visitin Florence, although it is a bit of a walk to the centre but there is a good bus service. The room was beautiful, very large and clean with a very large and comfortable bed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with directions and advice. I would certainly recommend this to anyone visting Florence and would definitely stay there if we visted Florence again.

We loved it! Great accomodations. The owners/staff VERY friendly and helpful. The room was huge for a European hotel room. and the feel was very "homey." Kind of like home away from home. We would definetly recommend it!

A great 'Residence'. Rooms roomy & well appointed. No formal breakfast (as to be expected from a Residence) but basics provided in a mini kitchenette. Location is great too - on a main road but secure & quiet. Close enough to the sights (via bus), yet far enough away for peace & quiet. Hosts VERY nice, friendly, helpful & prepared to suggest where to go, how to get there etc. We loved it!
