Ottimo posto. Bellissima casa.

Michael is very friendly and helped us in booking attractions and giving us special advices on what to see and what to do to enjoy our NY stay. Metro stop is very close to Michael's, we safely used it also by night. Enjoy yourself.

It is a friendly place to stay. The place is quiet, clean and the owner is very kind and helpful. There are only four rooms so it's more like being at home. It is quite far from downtown but there is a subway stop at two minutes walking and you can also choose to walk a bit more and find an express line that takes about 20 minutes to downtown.

Very nice place to stay - Mike took good care of us! Only negative point: underground ride to Manhattan center takes at least 20 minutes - positive point: underground station is only 2 minutes from hotel

A very friendly, clean, small hotel in an interesting historic environment. Although a long way from downtown Manhattan public transport is excellent. It is perhaps best suited to the slightly more adventurous tourist who enjoys exploring areas off the usual tourist trail.

We've spent 5 great days at Michael's NY in December 07. Michael was very friendly, he helped us finding interesting places, booked up cheap tickets to Broadway and gave us some usuful tips etc. Location is perfect, almost by the subway. It takes 20 minutes to mid Manhattan. Harlem looked pretty safe place even at night. Next time I'll stay there again.

I had a very pleasant stay at MichaelNY, 4 nights from the 14th of september 2007 to the 18th. It's not really an hotel, but the property of Michael, the very friendly owner who lives downstair and rent the rooms of the 2nd and 3rd floor. The house is very stylish (see the photographs on the website), much more good looking than regular hotels. My room was very clean, with a comfortable single bed and a LCD flat panel providing TV (160+ channels) and internet access. The bathroom was clean too. It's a shared one, but as there're maximum 5 guests, it was no problem at all. Each morning, during the breakfast in the kitchen on the 2nd floor, I taught with Michael and the other guests of what we did the day before and what we're going to do on the current day. Michael gave me really good advices (restaurants addresses, places to visit, the best way to go there, ...); it's a kind of service you don't usually have in regular hotels. The only problem was I spent too much with Michael and left too late every day :-). Best of all, this "hotel" is one of the cheapest in New York (I made many searchs). The only downside could be the location. Living in Harlem was really not a problem, as the police and people made this borough quite safe (not as it was in the 70s), but the "hotel" is a little bit far from NY downtown (about 45 minutes using the subway) but it's just a few steps from the 163 Street-Amsterdam subway station. The hotel is not really from the Yankee Stadium. If you plan to stay there on a week end, you should not miss the gospel on the sunday morning, at the Paradise Baptist Church (23 Fort Washington Ave). People, there, are very friendly and it's so refreshing! :-) For sure, if I'll come back to NY, I will go to MichaelNY ! :-)

Some places you just want to keep to yourself. MichaelNY is situated in the most beautiful street of Harlem with all houses from the end of 1800, close to the subway station (around 20- 30 minutes to the heart of Manhatten) and owner Michael is great company. Full of knowledge about NY and can help you with any question on the city, activities, restaurants etc. I realy liked the place a lot, it felt very relaxed and no doubts for me where I will book for my next trip to NY!! (If you have any questions feel free to send me a mail).
