This hotel has 2 types of rooms: the type that I stayed in was like an older style motel with the door facing an exterior walkway. The other type of room that I did not see, but I assumed it was a better room, are in the tower. I'm assuming this since the building I stayed in looked much older than the tower. The room was worth the price for a short business stay. I decided to check my confirmation directly with the hotel 4 days before checking in and found out they did not have any confirmation. I emailed the Venere customer support number and they followed up the next business day and got me a confirmation number. I was impressed with the speedy resolution. I was a bit skeptical at first since the Venere price was much less than the other online pricing services.

The Metropolitan Hotel has a nice friendly staff. Wonderful room with adjustable beds for each side of the bed. Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Only downside $5 per day resort fee.

Overall, it's a great retreat. There's Starbucks in the Lobby. The family enjoyed the pool and the beautiful grounds. For a resort, however the pillows were horrible. They were flat and uncomfortable. Regular room beds need to be comfortable as well. They need to add a pillowtop matress pad. Also, not enough channel choices for T.V.

If you stay here, be sure to book a deluxe room in the new section-do not get a standard as we did. In the older room, the bathroom was clean enough, but oddly laid-out, you had to reach under the sink countertops to flush the toilet and they only give you two towels. The closet shelves and hangers were covered in dust so you couldnt hang your clothes. The bedspreads were so old and smelled very very musty as did the room. The mattresses were so worn out that two indentations from years and years of travelers were evident. There were only two tiny flat old pillows. I couldnt sleep all nite for thinking about how old old old and musty the mattress was. The next morning i requested a room in the new section and the front desk clerk was very helpful and let me take a look at it before I upgraded. I was happy to pay the 38 more per night for a new room-it did not smell and had clean white duvet covers instead of bedspreads and suprisingly had very comfortable "sleep number" beds and four good pillows on each bed. We were satisfied with the new room. The only problem is that there were only three towels the first day, but even worse each day the maid would only leave two towels. The pool area definitely needs some cleaning up and daily attendance. The hot tub water was completely cloudy and dirty, the deck was never swept off in four days! The wooden flower bed enclosure surrounding the hot tub was rotting at the bottom and when it rained water from the flower beds would run out into the hot tub. Save your swim time for wet n wild or disney not here.

OUR 9 NITE STAY WAS AWFUL. THE FIRST NITE WE GOT A CHEEZY ROOM WITH A DOOR BARELY HANGING ON ITS HINGES-IT NEEDED TO BE SLAMMED AND WIGGLED TO CLOSE AND LOCK. THE SECOND NITE THE A/C IN OUR ROOM BROKE AT 1 AM-THE FRONT DESK JOKED ABOUT HOW WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH THE HEAT SINCE WE'RE FROM ARIZONA. NOT FUNNY. I THINK THEY PUT Travel agent CUSTOMERS IN THE CHEEZY ROOMS, WAY IN THE BACK. I THINK OUR STAY WOULD HAVE BEEN MATCHED BY A MOTEL 6-WE PAID TOO MUCH FOR OUR ROOM. OTHERWISE, ORLANDO IS A GREAT PLACE TO VACATION

The hotel was actually pretty decent....if you stayed in the NEW ADDITION. The rooms as represented in the pictures are in the DELUXE ROOMS ONLY! We booked a standard room and when we checked in were disgusted. There was a two inch gap underneath the door, it was musty and frankly very old. That room had not seen a face lift in many years. At the front desk the staff was initially very nice. They showed me a deluxe room and WOW...what a difference! I told the front desk clerk that comparison was like night and day to which my 10 year old said "And the deluxe room is certainly the day"! The rooms were new, modern with sleep number beds, great bathrooms and they were all in air conditioned interior hallways (Not exterior entrances like the standard rooms). It was really a great hotel. DON'T book a standard room. Otherwise, it was a great hotel. The pool was good, there was a Starbucks in the lobby that opened at 6:30 or 7am. It was easy to get to and from Universal and Disney and the airport. The upgrade is not expensive! UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE

We stayed at the metropolitan resort in April and I LOVED IT!!! The staff was friendly and helpful and we actually upgraded to the "Newer tower" and I hated it i would prefer to stay in the older part of the hotel it was much easier to access your car and the pool!! we didn't have one problem and would reccommend this hotel to everyone!

This hotel served our needs perfectly as we needed a day of relaxation before we hit the theme parks. The lobby and grounds were well-cared for and attractive. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool area was pleasant. Some of the public halls and stairways were a little worn and unkept, but they seemed to be working on freshening things up during the time we were there. This hotel met our requirements in a pleasant atmosphere and location. I'd recommend it.

Besides hair event, workers ran the power washers early in the morning outside doors to clean walks. Most occupants had been at Disney until 2 am that day, so it was not very customer friendly.

They have the inside and outside rooms. Quality of the inside ones are much better. The other thing was that you had to pay resort fees, whether you used them or not.
