Though the pool wasn't available, the staff was very apologetic and we used the hot tub. The lobby was open 24/7 and the staff gave us water, use of the microwave, etc. Not a new hotel, but comfortable. Worked for us to visit Temple Square, Gateway, etc.

I read the reviews before booking this room. The comments don't give a true picture of what is to be expected. The building is very old and is not renovated as stated. The complimentary breakfast was of poor quality. I will never stay here again. It is way overpriced not even as good as Motel6

The staff were a little disorganized but all-in-all its a great little place for a getaway. The beds are without a doubt the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Great location. Not too many bells and whistles. And cheap!

Hotel totally misrepresented itself. Did not look like the website picture at all. NO HOT WATER. Staff not responsive to needs of guest. Car security does not exist. Travelling from out of town, very dissappointing travel stay. Would not recommend this facility.

Just for the Tempurpedic Beds alone... I already ordered one of their pillows. And the retro look of the entire property is perfect.

When I arrived it was very late - about 1AM. The dark walk way to the elevator and the outside access to all rooms made me very nervous. As a woman traveling alone, the hotel seemed seedy. Although this was not the hotel's fault, each night as I returned to my room I was approached by a homeless person. Walking alone and the dark, shadowy hall way made me quite anxious. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. However, the decor was pretty awful.

I thought this was a great motel. It was perfect for our overnighter. My husband really enjoyed the beds. Very clean. More parking would have been nice. A continental breakfast was a nice suprise. We would stay here again.

The Metropolitan Inn in Salt Lake City is not a four star hotel but it was clean, the tempurpedic beds were nice and the location was great for the price.

I read the reviews prior to my stay and I was prepared for a small room. They really aren't that bad...how much room do you really need? The beds are incredible and make up for any lack of space in room or bathroom. I would stay there again at the drop of a hat.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple times and you can't beat the location. It's right downtown and close to all the shopping and restaurants. I also like the Tempurpedic beds they have at this hotel. It can be a little noisy on the weekend, but for the price you can't beat it.

"The rooms are inexpensive and clean. The staff is exceptional and very helpful. You are located alongside all of the big name hotels, but without the high price. The light rail station is only one block away and within 5 minutes you can be at the Gateway Shopping District or Temple Square. The staff was very good at getting our family over to the light rail station and helping us to plan our day. Extremely clean rooms and lobby. "

The outside noise was very annoying. When I asked for directions to the ice machine & vending machines, I was directed to the end of the outside corridor. Buat when I got there, there were no vending machines & the ice machine was out of order, with no directions to a working ice machine. Then the neon lights were not turned on until after 10 p.m. on 11/30, & my friend had to circle several blocks to locate the place. I changed hotels the next day.

"We had a nice stay. The hotel was very clean and in great shape inside. But the extreior was a little run down. Great location for downtown fun. The pool was advertised as heated but never as seesonal, so the kids and I will not be back, only because they loved to swim and not just sit and watch t.v. The beds were a plus but I didn't like them, just didn't wake up soar.Oh yeah the staff was very nice also."

"This was a fun hotel. The room was small, but every room in the hotel has tempur pedic beds. The hygiene products are from Bath and Body Works, so that was cool. The pool was still closed for our visit, but it was pretty small. There was also an outdoor hottub. If you're looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it. If you're looking for a fun place to stay, you've found it."

"This is the place to go for something low-key, quick, in the middle of everything, and price-efficient. It was a Travel Lodge and they refurbished it. They had Bath & Body Works soaps/gels, Tempur-pedic Mattresses (great night's sleep!), and super-close to a lot of downtown restaurants/bars/nightlife. If in need of something quick and cheap, this is deifnitely worth it's money!"

"This place knows exactly what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else. If you're looking for a hotel that has overpriced rooms, a bar that serves overpriced drinks, and a restaurant that delivers overpriced food, this isn't the place for you. However, if you?re in for a place that has comfortable beds, affordable AND clean rooms, and is within walking distance of some of Salt Lake?s finest clubs, bars, and restaurants, this IS the place for you. A perfect place for travelers that like to have fun and explore the places their visiting."
