Room No. 208: Look for controlling electrical equipment! Too poor and dark lamps; plug for shavers is dangerous; switch for lights coming into the room is adventurous to find... Place is good for foot-walking into old town, but parking place for car is expensive.

It´s, for me, the best price/quality hotel in Kaunas. Very conveniently located, and the price is extremely low for what you get.

It´s the perfect hotel for someone who is not looking for any luxury, just a place to sleep, take a shower and leave the luggage. It´s a wonderful location, just near Laisves Aleja, a couple of blocks away from the Akropolis shopping centre, and surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants. Good for a budget trip.

There are some modern rooms and there are some soviet era rooms. I had the latter, things looked a little tatty but was in good working order and the quirks made the stay more memorable. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good indeed. As for the location, smack bang in the centre! I would stay again

The staff wasn´t bad at all, but they were not giving the first step to help you. They wait until you ask or you go for them. Also they need to wear a smile sometimes. The hotel, well, I knew that it was a budget hotel. But, anyways, there are some details that can be easily fixed, without spending almost any money. For example, the towel hanger was broken, and they just put it there looking nicely, but, as soon as you put the towel, it falls down. Also the wardrobe hanger. They can easily just glue it or fix it to actually have a hanger there. Those kind of small details that can make the difference, without spending almost any money.

The saying 'you get what you pay for' sums up our experience at this hotel. The price was excellent and so the unfriendly receptionist, very old carpet coming off of the floor (I was afraid to walk without shoes), the rusty, very old bathtub and toilet (no wash basin), and the fact that you could hear the next room very clearly through the walls, were acceptable. However, the very large circle of mould/mildew on the wall next to my bed was too much, no matter the price. As far as I am concerned, no one in the hospitality business should ever offer such a room to any guest. It was a big surprise, considering the public areas were quite lovely in a 'fading glory' sort of way - and our 'living wall' certainly wasn't in the pictures on the Internet! However, if you are an unpicky backpacker searching for the cheapest, central stay and a decent breakfast buffet then this hotel certainly meets those requirements.

Very disappointed!!!!! Could not believe places like this still exists!!! Especially in the centre of the city. So far the worst place I ever had to stay in. When I have arrived, I was given a room with NO HEATING (at winter time). The worst thing was, I didn't realised as, I left my luggage's and went out. When I came back I found two little electric heaters, which ones obviously not enough to get room even worm. Also there was no night curtains! But that wasn't everything..... When I've got up in the morning (at outside temperature!!!!) even SHOWER DIDN'T WORK!!!!!! How much worse can it get??? Went to the reception and I was given another room, nothing really good, but at least with heating and night curtains and working (very horrible, but working) shower. WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE ELSE!!!!! Walls are horrible - really dirty! So do shower!people who likes to clean them self's in the morning would not like at the Metropolis. Great location, but really shame that hotel wasn't looked after at all. Even knowing the price isn't big I think they still should provide people with main things., because the price is definitely to big to pay just for roof above your head!

The hotel is two star rated, but I think the breakfast should be at least 3-4 stars. wery good!!Please, don´t let people smoke everywhere. Keep at least one corridor as a no smoking area with no smoking rooms. Do something to your elevator! It is terrible to look down 5 floors.

Ask for renovated rooms (suites), the rest of rooms may scare you off. But location of the hotel is great, right in the heart of Kaunas.

The Hotel Metropolis is located in the Centre of Kaunas. It is not top quality but for persons which do not need deluxe accomodations it's just perfect. The cost-to-performance ratio is excellent. I'll book this hotel again when I'll be in Kaunas next time.
