the staff was rude unhelpful unfriendly. even the managers i dealt with were unprofessional and robotic and extremely un-knowledgeable. i also stayed at the ararat hyatt and that was a dream compared to the metropole nightmare

Excellent location. Rooms were not good. This hotel is too expensive for the room we had. Is typical European Hotel with very small and very old rooms.

Metropol Hotel is located in a great area - just next to red square! It has a lot of old style charm and has good service to compliment. It would be a great hotel for leisure purposes but probably not great for business. Reason being, there is no in room internet access so if you need any work done - it would have to be in the lobby using wireless internet or at the business centre.

Situation. Business center service more than expensive, room WiFi connection impossible. Excellent situation (just 1 minute from Red Square and Metro), very friendly staff, but room poor decorated, difficult to work in because of absence of free or at least cheap internet access, strange girls in a bar.
