lovely hotel suitable for all. Lots to do from swimming to guided walks. Large open reception amd lounge areas. Doesn't feel crowded. 3 different eating areas fast food / brasserie / restaurant. All excellent quality and value for money. Evening buffet in restaurant is very good.Have stayed here many times and always feel it is one of the best value in Jersey. Late rooms price made it even better value!

We were very pleased with the whole experience during our short stay at the Merton. The efficiency of the staff was matched by their friendliness and hospitality. The food and the menu choices were as good as any we have experienced anywhere and the entertainment was second to none.

Fabulous hotelVery well run hotel. Staff are very helpful and nothing is too much bother. Breakfast time was one of the best we've ever seen, with all types of diets catered for, and all dishes constantly replenished, and all tables cleared promptly. There was a little queueing at peak times but this was very short lived and dealt with very quickly.

Summer holidayThe Merton was an excellent hotel that exceded our expectations. The staff were very friendly & helpful, the food in particular was outstanding. I enjoyed listening to the lady pianist in the lobby before dinner. The swimming pool facilities were very good and I used it every day.We also went on a guided walk with the entertainment manager Pete Webb which was very interesting.

Wonderful Jersey - cant wait to returnJust spent a wonderful week in Jersey at the Merton Hotel. Room was spotless, food excellent. Catering staff were the stars - always there to greet you with a smile and cater for your every need. Pool facilities second to none. Only criticism would be sound proofing between floors - think we had an elephant staying in the room above us!! Apart from that we had a wonderful week and look forward to returning next year

Merton HotelI can't fault the Merton hotel it was great- Our room was very clean & modern -even a flat screen TV. We thought we would get just a standard room(perhaps a bit lower grade )because we didn't pay a great deal -not the case it was lovely

Merton HotelThe Hotel was a very friendly hotel, the staff were very willing to assist and the rooms were very clean. Did not get to the pool area but the gym was well equipped and spacious. The food in Bonetti's was excellent and also good value for money, Would definitely stay here again

Merton OkayDespite initially being in a double which was more like a single room, eventually got moved to a bigger double room. This took about 4 hours to sort. Communication between desk staff and management appeared to be poor.

The Merton was a nice place to staythe rooms were clean and nice, with plasma tv, our room unfortunetely was situated above where the bin man collects at 730am ! for twenty minutes noise, traffic was noisey too, and a generator running, from kitchen or pool not sure. But, we informed reception, and they kindly moved us to another lovely, but quiet rm, unfortunetly, the plasma tv didnt work, they gave us a temp, portable same day, but maid removed it, and we never got another, and gave up. Building was bit dated but all well cared for and clean, ll resteraunts were lovely and all very nice food, pool was nice, everything really was good. Walk to town was about 20 ins stroll. It is a very decieving big hotel.

bowls holidayten ladies stayed at this hotel and we all thoroughly. the rooms were first class food excellentand the staff were brilliant. the evening entertainment was excellent and the swimming pool was lovely. i would certainly book this hotel again ten out of ten.

Resort hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Rooms were fine and only gripe would be that you couldn't get away from the awful Musak playing throughout the hotel lounge areas..... Otherwise would stay again

A Great HolidayWe were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Our room though quite small and facing a busy road was imaculate and looked recently decorated. The breakfast was excellent with every taste catered for, as was the evening meal. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. After a day exploring the island it was great to come back to an enjoyable meal and really good entertainment. Every evening we were treated to a different show and we enjoyed them all.

Great HotelThe Merton is a great place to stay on a visit to Jersey especially if you have kids as the Aquadrome (which is just over the road outside the hotel entrance) is a brilliant facility with slides, pools and the new Flowrider. It is a shame they have chosen to make the Flowrider a seperate charge per session rather than let people just hop on for a try, but for £2.50 it represents reasonable value.The standard of the rooms and restauants, bars and public areas is high with only a few traces of the older 70's style still noticable. Our room was of a reasonable size with a confortable bed all the usual facilities and a nice bath and shower room all very clean and modern. Entertainment is provided quite a few nights a week (and every night in higher season I believe). The night we stayed to watch the singer/commedian was good all round entertainment.The buffet breakfast was very good with an extensive choice ranging from cereals and yogurts to a full english selection with toast etc. Also was a small continental selection of the usual meat and cheese etc. All was well perpared and tasty. We only stay in on the first night to eat at the italian but the food was excellent and reasonably priced too for a hotel. Other food outlets are available such as the main restaurent and a 50's styled American burger bar. We did not use them on our short stay but there is no reason to thing that the quality would have been any less than in the itallian.Overall I would highly recommend The Merton although don't expect a prime sea front location with stunning views as it is located on the outskirts of St. Hellier a good walk 15-20 mins walk from the sea and about 5-10 mins walk to the town centre. There is however plenty of private parking although the car park is quite cramped so I wouldn't reccomend hiring a big Chelsea Tractor for your stay, particularly as many of the roads on Jersey a quite small. A fiesta or similer is a great choice for touring the island but book onl

Family BreakThis is the second time I have stayed at the Merton in the past twelve months. As before the hotel was excellent. The rooms are good, the food is good, all of the staff are friendly and the entertainment in the evening is a bonus. I have just been in touch with the hotel to book my next stay.

High standard 3* hotel with free parking 10 mins from centre of St Helier.We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Merton. However, I would recommend having transport if anyone in your party has difficulty walking, as taxis into St Helier are expensive (£5-£6) for a short trip which only takes an able bodied person 10 mins to walk. Buses are also good value for money. Free parking is provided at this hotel. Our room was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. Free safe & Left luggage facilities were available on request. Breakfast was buffet style with a selection to meet most dietary requirements. We did not use the Belvedere restaurant in the evening as it was an all inclusive 3 course meal rather than a choice of one, two or three courses. However, we did visit Bonnetti's restaurant on one occasion for a mediocre Italian meal. The leisure facilities located across the service road were excellent and well supervised. The only downside was the evening entertainment which due to private functions, were limited to just 2 nights, which were fine if you enjoyed Line Dancing! T.A. Fife, Scotland

Pleasant StayThe hotel and the staff were of a high standard. The room was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel and the restaurants within the hotel. The food was of a high standard and the service was really quick. The swimming facilities were also very clean and the pool was very nice. We would definitely use this hotel again and would recommend it. There was nothing we could find fault with.

Good Time in Jersey

Check in: room was ready by 14.00 which was a bonus. No information given by Reception regarding breakfast, facilities etc which would have been very helpful. Shown to room by Porter. Buffet breakfast was OK, but no fresh fruit and some of the hot food had obviously been lying too long. No marmalade and when I asked for it I was given Marmite! Had one dinner in Bonetti's Italian restaurant. Garlic bread with cheese was awful - the thinnest piece of pizza bread with slimy, oily topping. Sent it back. Pizza main course was OK. Wouldn't go back. Restaurants all closed by 22.00. Jersey Joe's (diner style) should have served scoops of fresh ice cream - not Magnums etc. Bedroom was fine, though bathroom very small. Housekeeping very efficient. Everything worked. Quiet. Reception/Concierge service let the side down. They were either ill informed or apathetic. First impressions are the lasting ones!

Disley family Flowrider TripAs always had a great time at the Merton. As usual most of our time was spent on the Flowrider at the Aquadome. The staff there are brilliant. It's becoming a second home for us. We ate at Bonetti's and Jersey Joes Diner and can recommend both.
