Good hotel. Good Facilities. Nice situation.Very enjoyable stay.We really enjoyed our stay however our daughter's bed was a temporary Z bed. This was anticipated - however the mattress was too thin and the springs could be felt through the mattress.

Very nice stay, excellent locationFor a young couple it was a lovely hotel to stay in for a one day trip to Sheffield. Room was nice with a great view of the town hall and fountains etc... Recommended

Clean, modern decor, good service. Quite hot in the room during our stay (July) no opening windows and ventilation a little noisy. Great location for the city although no parking, valet parking offered for £20 per night. Overall would recommend for a short city break.

MercureWhen I booked this hotel I arrived to find that there was no trace of my booking with reception (this has happend on 2 other occasions) Luckily for me they had rooms available.Room was very nice but somewhat strange to be so close to the council offices who appear to be almost at arms length! Shower needs some attention as sealant has started to blacken. Lastly given the calibre of this hotel, why do we need a cable from reception (where you have to pay a £5 deposit) to use the internet? What's wrong with wireless?

The Club roomis the best. This room was reduced to only £89 and was well worth the cost. This was a very special occasion and to have such a nice quiet room with a view of the fountains in Sheffield was stunning. check in was quick and simple, the hotel was very busy but everywhere was clean and the staff were discreet and professional. We didn't use hotel facilities such as bar, restaurant or pool due to other arrangements.

Mercure St Paul's hotelBooked through LateRooms.com and for the price £60 very good value. Would not have been happy to pay normal price. Only issue with room was insufficient lighting and air condition system not working as effectively as could have been. Staff and service excellent as was location and spa facilities lovely.

Mecure SheffieldThe hotel overall is brilliant, it's in a great spot in Sheffield, it's very clean and the spa and the spa staff are great. But the staff on the reception area are not that helpful and actually confused us even more than we already were than help us. My word of warning is if you are travelling by car and will need to park overnight be prepared to carry all your belongings up a hill from the nearest NCP! The hotel says that it offers a discount if you park at this car park, it even states it in their welcome book in the hotel room, the truth actually is that they don't offer this service anymore, a bit too late for somebody who has already parked there and settled in their hotel room! I have stayed at this hotel before and stayed in a normal room, so this time I decided to pay the extra £50 and stay in the more \"luxurious\" superior room. This room boost of excellent veiws from the top of the building and flat screen TV's and bath robes for all of the guest staying. Ha! The room was actually worse than the bog standard room! The view was rubbish as these rooms are at the back of the building, the TV was smaller than the one I had previously and as for the robes, they didn't appear. Saying all this I will back up the spa facillities and staff, they are wonderful. If you are going to stay here I would recommend that you have some form of treatment as this really will make your stay, and they are reasonably priced. I would stay in this hotel again though and I think that we were just unlucky and to be honest I think the rooms had been overbooked as when we were leaving at least 6 people were waiting to speak to the manager.

Loved itNo hot chocolate so was bit disappointed. The spa was very nice, especially the aromatherapy room, the scents in the aromatherapy room could have been a little stronger to make them more distinctive but was still brill. Fridge in the room was not turned on. View was wonderful over lookin the peace gardens.

wedding visitthe hotel was fantastic however the room let the hotel down. It was not clean rotten apple under the bed and in a poor state of repair, fridge not working and door retainers all broken. The staff were very friendly but when I mantioned the problems in the room they seemed unable or unwilling to change the room. possibly because we got such a good deal through late rooms.com all in all it was only a good experience because of the pool and spa facilities.

Business Trip - ConferenceThe hotel overall was very good, although when I visited they charged an extra £30 per room per night when the conference was taking place. Usually when events take place in hotels I thought guests got a preferential room rate, but this was the other way around!

Last minute night awayWe stayed room only. Had a very pleasant stay - made full use of the leisure facilities which were excellent - only down side was that the gym was very warm. Hotel was clean and staff were professional. The food and drink in the hotel were a bit on the pricey side but the location is excellent for lots of nice bars, restaurants and night life.

Gig stopoverWE have stayed at this hotel twice before and got the feeling that it had edged downmarket: minibar needed ordering; no biscuits in room and horror of horrors the champagne bar had stopped its cocktail menu!

Very smart hotel in great central location. Lacking a little warmth in terms of looking after guests ie more business-like than friendly. Room very nice but bed counterpane stained, some scratches to furniture and no extra pillows. Minor niggles but annoying in what was otherwise an enjoyable stay. Have stayed before and would stay again hoping this was just a slightly off day.
