You have to be careful with this Hotel. You book a double and non smoking and then you are told there are no doubles left when you arrive. Another person commented on this in an earlier review. That said the Hotel is good and the young girl on the front counter was excellant dispite being landed in a situation that wasn't her fault. I would definitely stay again. Hopefully reservations will to up their game so this type of event doesn't happen to others.

DisappointingI booked this hotel for my partner's birthday and was extremely disappointed when after reserving a double room to be given a twin room, without the option of any alternative as a wedding was been hosted at the venue. This is not the standard of service I expect to receive from a four star hotel!

1 night business stayIdeal for a 1-night, late check in stay overnight. A very nice looking hotel in a central location. Rooms are good quality although as it is an old hotel when somebody walks around in the room above you can hear it.Bar and restaurant area look good.Nothing to not recommend it - just get a good rate under £90

Excellent location, within walking distance of shopping/restaurantsVery convenient location near the center of Cheltenham. Within walking distance of many restaurants, pubs and shopping. Only negative comment is the internet access was a bit pricey - was expecting (hoping) for this to be included with room?

MediocreDisappointing for a 'premier' hotel. Room was clean but tired looking and required sprucing up.

Weekend break at the QueensWe booked the Queens via Late Rooms as we fancied a weekend break in Cheltenham. Due to snow we had to cancel but the Queens were very flexible and, although the booking was on a no refund basis, they allowed us to rebook and we decided to extend the stay by another night. We booked a double room but they were only able to give us a twin, which was surprising as we booked over 2 months ago. However, they gave us a superior twin and it was a very well appointed room, well furnished with a very modern bathroom. We were right next door to the Brasserie Blanc which we patronised twice and very much enjoyed. However, the sound proofing in the room was not very good and it was very noisy in the early hours of the morning when the customers were leaving. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is excellent for Cheltenham, parking is easy and the staff were very friendly. We did not eat in the hotel, opting for the Brasserie Blanc, but the dining room looked very light, airy and inviting. We would stay there again.

Good but...Below par for a 4* hotel.I've rated this hotel with respect to other 4* hotels. So a 3 is average for a 4*. Our room, 118, was a bit shabby. It needed re-wallpapering, the curtain was ripped open exposing the (good quality) liner, and the bathroom needed re-painting.The office chair was yellow, with gold stripes and many many coffee stains. Our kingsize bed was very comfortable, but the bedding did not fit. The undersheet was tucked in at one side and one end only and the duvet did not fit fully into it's cover.Having said that, a hotel is just a place to sleep. Our standard room was clean, reasonably large and comforatble. To me, these are the most important things.Avoid rooms 112 to 128. These are above the hotel bar, which plays music until midnight.

Perfectly situated hotelThe Queen's Hotel in Cheltenham is very well situated at the top of the main shopping/eating areas, overlooking the park. It's old fashioned charm is backed up by courteous but not fawning staff. Food is above average for a hotel of its type but limited choice for room service. Lovely spacious room with views over the park. Very comfortable, large bed. Car parking well laid out and easy to park a large vehicle. This was my third/fourth stay and I will return.

The hotel was in an excellent location with access to shops and restaurants, and was very comfortable and friendly. Staff were extremely helpful and charming, and the rooms (if small) were well furnished. Bathroom had a bath, not just a shower. The only fault was with the breakfast, which failed to materialise after 50 minutes wait. However, the hotel not only didn't charge for the tea and toast we had but also gave us free parking which we were very happy with. There were plenty of local alternative sources of breakfast.

A great location with friendly staff. The room we had was fairly small but comfortable. We didn't try the food but the restaurant attached to the hotel looked very good. We have stayed in this hotel twice now and would happily return.

The reception area of the hotel appeared a litle 'shabby' however the bedroom, although small, was immaculate. Would have liked brighter lighting in the room, however this is a minor issue. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom facilities excellent.

lovely stay central for theatre, town hall events and shops. however be aware car park is £10 per day and breakfast an extra £16 a head. for a weekend break brill

We paid £80 per night for a 2 night stay - excluding breakfast. However, when we arrived there were signs outside the hotel saying double rooms available for £80 per night including breakfast - so it was frustrating to discover this.Breakfast was very expensive so we didn't bother. The car park was £10 per night where as on the website it said £5 per night. All that aside we enjoyed our stay and would visit again (although would probably check with the hotel directly first to see what better offers they have than when booked through Late Rooms). The room was quiet and clean and the hotel is in a fantastic location.

No hot water second morning so cold shower or nothing. Apparently hot water system broke down. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location in centre of town. Bedroom spacious, plenty of room to walk about.Car parking £10 per night but website says £5 per night so they charged my £5 per night. Getting out of car park takes time. On both occasions I used the car the barrier did not lift with card issued by hotel reception so I had to park the car and go back to reception. I saw this happen to other guests as well. New machine needed?Dirty towel in bathrooom not removed. It was there on arrival and I spotted the dirt when I unfolded the towel to use it.I like to use this hotel again but only when the above problems have been fixed.

Check in was brilliant and very helpful. Pity the car parking charge had been doubled from the price advertised. Booked into the restaurant for dinner. Service and food excellent. Had a great window table looking out over the gardens. Breakfast was served in the conservatory room , which was bright and airy. More staff needed though, as there were only 4 on duty, and the hotel was near full being a bank holiday. No menu offered, and when ordering the full breakfast, we were told we could not have scrambled eggs. Any other eggs except scrambled . The manager did apologise for the delay however. All in all good value and worth a visit. We would go back.

I was very inmpressed by the wallpaper in the hallway, which made me feel most relaxed after an arduous jopurney from Bexhill in my Morris Marina. The toiliet seat was the most comfortable I have experianced for a number of years. My only area of disappointment was that the lack of biscuit selection. I am personally very found of a garibaldi at bedtime and sadly had to venture out late at night to purchase these from a late night garage. A minor issue, but one that I would like addressed before my next visit.
