Try again but still not improvedI've stopped at this Last Drop a few times and each time I tell myself "surely it can't get any worse...." but it can. The room that I had (49) had a torn and threadbare bedspread cover, the floor in the bathroom was very uneven, it literally took 5 minutes to get any hot water out of the shower and when it did you had to dance around to actually get wet there was so little water coming out of the head.On a positive note however the service was great, I arrived late and they could no have been more helpful. Breakfast was good and the gym facilities are great for the price that you pay for the hotel.

Last Drop Rip OffIf you want a surly welcome, a room with paper thin walls, a collapsing bed and the most expensive drinks you can buy then I recommend this place.

Regular visitorLike the health facilitie,s location is scenic for a jog and like friendly receptionists. Bar food Ok and enough money, I usually arrive late and eat around 9pm so dont want three courses (and wouldn't want to spend more in restaurant even though company pays for this). I'd also rather go to MacDonalds for £2.69 rather than pay £13 for breakfast since I think this is expensive. Room clean and good value at £50/night if staying in separate "new building"at the back, other rooms in old part were looking tired. Pleased to see electric radiator working and additional blanket provided in room as chilly that night. Finally need to invest in larger flatscreen in bar as couldnt see the football!

Hotel is dated, food offering poor and overpriced. My room was dusty and the kettle was covered in cobwebs The spider in the room was 3cms in diameter and had a better nights sleep than I did. Despite leaving a note with reception I have not been contacted by the hotel.

lovely hotel lots of character, the room was spacious and clean, parts of the hotel are in need of a little TLC, leisure facilities spa & pool are excellent very relaxing, only thing that let down this hotel was the food, breakfast was lukewarm and dinner was at best dreadful and expensive. We would stay again but would eat elsewhere.

Although the receptionist was not the most helpful I have ever met, I must say this was probably the best hotel I have stayed in for months. I had one of the courtyard rooms and it was more like having a suite. The decor is not the most modern and the television has very limited channels, but the setting is great, the leisure facilities welcome and the room was massive. really a "home from home" feel.

Strange name, nice hotelI booked The Last Drop largely because of its gym and pool and I wasn't disappointed. Whilst the accommodation and food generally met my expectations, the fitness facilities far surpassed them.I will make a point of staying there in the future, if at all practical. Also, I have to say that the staff were all friendly and efficient

Mecure HotelMy room was set apart from the main building, I had my laptop bag, an overnight bag, my handbag and my suitcase, the room was up some steep stone steps and I was not offered any help with my luggage.The room was small and dated, I ordered room service the first night which was overcooked and the tray stayed outside my room for the duration of my stay, I had put some wet towels in the bath to be changed and these had been folded up and put back on the towel rack.

The shops are good and priced well. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. On the night we were therre, there were problems with television reception and this was explained to us. We had good value for money but if we'd been paying hte full price, it would have been good to have a drink voucher to make up for the lack of TV. The bar staff were professional and friendly and the room had good atmosphere. The beer was priced well and we liked to option to take bar meals especially as there were no other places to eat nearby.

On returning to the UK after serving in Iraq with the British Army, my partner booked this hotel as it was nea to where she was working during the week, the hotel and its facilities where that good that we inceased our stay by 2 more nights. I have recommended this hotel to many friends and will most definatly use it again. The Spa facilities put to shame some top class gyms that I have used.

Nice hotel, friendly receptionist - not as first rate as it could be being a spa but respectable nonetheless. Would stay here again. Good facilites. Bedroom was a little tired and was on a throughroute for other delegates so a little noist, but noting OTT.

This stay was extremely dissappointing.I've stayed in this hotel a number of times before and the accommodation, food, service, leisure facilities etc have all been excellent. This time however, the hotel was particularly busy and I ended up staying in one of the courtyard rooms, room 14. They look lovely from outside, particularly with snow covered lawns out front, but the rooms themselves are sorely in need of refurbishment. The mattress was 'boingy' because the springs are shot and needs replacing. The boiler which fed hot water to the radiators and shower/bath had broken down so the room was absolutely freezing (outside temperature was 0degC and snowing) and I couldn't have a shower the following morning. On top of this, the TV wasn't tuned into all of the terrestrial channels!The Drop Inn was closed (this wasn't mentioned to me at any point, I only found out when I ran through the snow to the door and it was locked!) so I ended up eating in the main bar. I ordered a burger and chips which cost just under £10 and received an awful flat patty, which looked like it had been bought from Iceland and thawed out before being fried and chucked on a bun. The following day I went for a swim before breakfast and the entire spa suite was out of order.To give credit to Franco, the duty manager, he sorted the shower situation out very quickly by allowing me access to a room which had been unoccupied the previous night. However, when I checked in I had requested a room other than the courtyard rooms and been told that everywhere was full. Having stayed a number of times previously, I would have expected better from the staff.So as you can probably guess, it was an extremely disappointing, inconvenient and uncomfortable stay. I was given my food for free but still had to pay for the room which although it was at the laterooms rate, was still relatively costly for the experience.

Same as always - clean, comfortable and great value at Laterooms prices.Remember to take gym and swimming kit, the facilities are very nice.
