The room itself was a good decent size, however the cleanliness was another story...black fingerprints all over my bathroom door, the toilet flush buttons had not been wiped/cleaned and there were even crumbs (and I'm not taking a few crumbs either) in the coffee/tea sachet holder that obviously hadn't been emptied for months. I asked about car parking before booking with this hotel but what they didn't tell me was how limited it was and how awkward it was to park. I ended up taking my car into town and parking at the car park building as I didn't want to get blocked in as the day before.

The room was freezing cold and it took all night for the tiny heater to do anything to the temperature in the room and I had to wait a hour for someone to bring an extra blanket up.Parking was awful, one morning I couldn't even get my car out it was so jammed packed with cars. My room had a lot of traffic noise from very early to late at night. Will not stay there again

Comparatively easy access to Downtown. They did not clean the toilet on a daily basis. They charge everything, even local phone calls. The room is tiny. There is no air conditioner.

We were told breakfast was open from 6.30am so made our plans for an early start, only to be told when we fronted it was not open until 7am - this caused quite an inconvenience, counter staff were also not exactly friendly

The reception area is lovely but the rest of the hotel is old, our windows were rattly, the curtains didn't block the street lights, the street noise was very loud, the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly....we wouldn't stay there again even though the location was really handy.

Very helpful reception staff. Queen room is VERY small and really only good for 1 person with minimal luggage. We were a couple with 2 largish suitcases. Excellent guest laundry. Breakfast not really worth the money. Only few minutes walk to Cuba Street with good selection of restaurants. We had meal in Italian restaurant on the Sat evening to live music of string quartet!

We found the Mercure Hotel Willis Street up to standard and the Reception was excellent and polite and very willing and able.

Good Location, bad parking and uninterested staff... price right it is serviceable but not memorable.

older hotel that we use a lot. Great staff, excellent restaurant and convenient to the areas of the city that we need to access

I had a very pleasant stay. Having parking is great - can park and walk to town. The fridge had no bar across the door storage - when I opened the door all the drinks fell on the floor. I put them up on the bench. No plates or cutlery - might be something to consider.

good room, comfortable bed, no air conditioning a problem for summer, internet access very expensive, 10 minute walk to Cuba street , good value for money but low season Christmas week in government city

The Room was lovely, clean & Tidy but unfortunately very noisy! we did not get much sleep at all, its on a busy intersection/corner and Wellington traffic does not stop all night! very hot too, no air con, and if you open the windows, even louder!

Had a very good stay apart from the rattling windows in mhy room that kept me awake

Good value standard hotel room for the price. A bit out of town, however, with indoor pool and 24 hour gym on premises, more than made up for the walk to and from the shops. Excellent service provide by all staff. Restaurant over priced for level (star rating) of hotel.

Sky tv could have more options (such as movies channels, not just skysport). Bar/fridge items in ones room are too expensive. Apart from that, excellent!

No wardrobe, only a standing coathanger device. Restaurant very average quality. Handy hotel but not quite up to the standard expected.

Good location and price. There was no air conditioning and the door rattled all night.

Room very small. Too small for staying longer than one night.

We booked a twin room with extra bed. There really wasn't enough space for three people with suitcases in this room. It became like a maze when the third bed was brought in and the bags had to stay vertical. There appeared to be no airconditioning. The windows opened only a little and were above a noisy street. Bathroom was tiny too.
