Restricted choice of TV channels compared with freeview.

The food was excellent however a £5.00 tray charge seemed a bit exessive. Laura who greeted me on my arrival did a great job in making me feel welcome and all the staff we very helpful

The hotel is just situated just out of the city centre , but within walking distance to get to the main shopping area and restaraunts. The views from the hotel room are stunning, seeing Cardiff Bay itself from where we stayed. We will definately stay there again.

Hotel was easy to find, good location within walking distance for INternational Arena for our concert. Used the swimming pool only 2 in there and staff were very pleasant. Only drawback was that breakfast not included and quite pricey so opted for excellent bacon sandwiches at O'Brien's literally 2 mins walk away.

Room and bed fantastic but shower was terrible-poor water pressure and very noisy!! Also the hotel did not honour the desription on the late rooms website- they said that they did not promise the type described and 2 of our party's 4 rooms were not as descibed in the confirmation e-mail. But because our deal was good value for money and we only stayed one night this, luckily, did not spoil our stay.

Be aware that the parking is first come first serve - the day that we went there was a wedding/reception at the hotel and all the parking was taken before we could even book in.

Very pleasant hotel. Exactly what you'd hope to get from a decent hotel chain. Disappointed not to have hotel-wide WiFi, though -- I do think that in 2008, this should come as standard.

we had a great time in Cardiff as we do every year and this is the 3rd consecutive year we have stayed in the Mercure Holland House Hotel Cardiff, only a couple of very minor things - the jacuzzi was out of action so that was a real shame as looking forward to that after our journey and we had bought another couple with us this year and told them of the lovely pool etc. and one of the barman was a little strange when ordering our lunch but i am sure he was doing exactly how he was supposed to but came over a bit odd

Very good customer service and very good room. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff reception even drove my car to the underground car park from the street where it was parked(car park costs £12 per day!)

Very nice hotel, good location, not too close to the main street, 15 min walk to Stadium. Would stay again

Excellent hotel. Beautiful room. Spotlessly clean with a brilliant shower (why do so many other hotels have plumbing problems?) Very friendly reception and highly professional bar staff. Elegant and spacious. Will definitely come back to the Mercure Holland House Hotel Cardiff when I am next in Cardiff.

As a manager in sort & leisure facilities, the wet side of the leisure spa failed to meet a good standard-overall though -we were very happy with our stay.

An excellant hotel to stay when visiting Cardiff. The room was very clean, and the bed was huge just right for a good nights sleep after a night out in Cardiff bay. Good location only a few minutes walk from the shopping centre.

The Mercure Holland House Hotel Cardiff flatters to deceive. For over £100 per night I would expect more from a 4 star hotel. The client service levels were very poor and £12 to park your car in their car park is appalling.Room service was atrocious and I waited over an hour for the food to arrive despite being told it would be half an hour.

Stayed at the hotel for a rugby weekend. Hotel was within easy walking distance of the shops and the millenium stadium, castle. Rooms were excellent and the staff couldn`t do enough for you. We only ate in the Hotel for breakfast but this was very good. Hotel was good value, as other hotels within the vacinity of the same class were considerably more expensive . The only down side is car parking as it is limited and £12 a day is steep but Cardiff is like that and it is a secure underground facility. You get what you pay for at the Mercure Holland House Hotel Cardiff a good quality 4* service.

Cleanliness of toilet and public areas was generally poor and toilets in the bar area did not work!, notified the bar staff in the afternoon and it was still the same on the evening which reported to the acting manager. First time I have complained at a hotel, especially one of this rating.

Staff were quite helpful, more so when checking out than checking in. Good location for Cardiff city centre and reasonably priced as well. Room was good with very good views over the city, although the windows were a bit dirty and the shower took too long to warm up. Overall, however, pretty good, and I'd probably stay there again.

The hotel was great, but unfortunately we were not booked in when we arrived, if they had not found a room for us I am not sure what I would have done as it was the Rugby Super League weekend and all the hotels were booked up in the area. The hotel said this happens regularly with 'late rooms' taking the booking - this needs to be addressed.
