The beds where white, clean & presentable- couldn't say that for the valances which where dirty, we had a fridge in the room..shame the cupboard was colder than the fridge, it also looked as if it had never seen a cleaning cloth as did the filthy windows, and the bathroom floor & shower door--it appeared previous customers hairs where still there, there was Tea/Coffee making facilities - which could not be used as the majority of the electric sockets did not work and neither did the hair dryer which hides away in the draws, also the tv remote was missing and there was a coating of dust on it.

Mecure Holland CardiffStaff were great, room was fantastic, although TV chanels were not working, also curtains would not close properly, which is important if you have young kids like me.The carparking charges were expensive, I feel that we shouold have not paid for parking as we were guests.

I was given a smoking room despite having rung the hotel days before, to inform the hotel I would be checking in late and to ensure a non smoking room. I was told that I was late checking in there was no other room available, that the hotel was full and that they could not move me. I insisted that I wanted a non smoking room and was eventually upgraded. The receptionist was pleasant, but I should not have had to argue to be moved. I checked in at 11.30pm so it was unlikely the superior room would have been needed for a late guest.I ordered breakfast in my room. It was the poorest breakfast I have ever eaten at a hotel. The eggs were cold, bacon undercooked, and the toast was only cooked on one side.

Not bad - not worth the 4 starsNot a bad location, only a few blocks or a short taxi ride to the town centre, bars etc. Room has modern design but unfortunatly not cleaned correctly (there was left over half eaten biscuits in the room and plates and dirty towles lying in the corridor all day.The hotel was busy with weddings and noisy functions downstairs. To be honest I wouldn't stay again, really not worth the extra price I paid for the room.

hotel was ok, not quite a four star, didnt have robes in rooms as stated on write up, we paid for breakfast as it was not included in our price and there was'nt much hot option for vegitarians, staff were all very helpful and polite maybe I'm just being picky but when you pay this much money you expect a certain standard. Location was very good for centre and bay.

Generally goodgood news - We were upgraded as we checked in, the staff were helpful, bad news - The maid knocked and came into our room around 9am while we were still in bedgeneral info - its about a 10-15 minute walk to the town cetr

Great Hotel Excellent locationStayed at hotel for two nights - location is excellent just on the outskirts of the centre (2 mins walk and your literally in the centre) the room very spacious with every mod con you'd require.Bar on first floor good size, drinks paid £7 for 1 pint lager and small glass of wine; Leisure facilities good - pool ok size, jacuzzi not working when statyed so that was dissapointing - sauna, gym and steam room very good. Only dissapointments, no breakfast with room rate - an additional £15pppn! also car parking additional £12 per 24hrs which is very cheeky.Overall recommended!

OK for one night - justRoom was OK but not what I would have expected for a Mercure. No shower, no TV remote & very noisy - behind lift shaft. As I was staying only overnight & didn't get to my room until after 11pm I didn't have energy or time to complain.

Delivers what it promises.A good hotel for the price of £90 per night as room was lot larger than the average shoe box. Also a very good pool, steam room and jacuzzi going by hotel standards again better than average in this price range. Overall very satisfied just one gripe about paying £12 a day to park in the hotel but it is underground parking so very secure.

Food was excellent, breakfast was also excellent, with a fantastic variety, all filled on a regular basis, presentation was great, everything full and being lovely and fresh.Service in the restaurant was A1,would definately recommend this hotel to others. It was just a shame there were spa day rooms available but they werent renting them out as Take that were preforming at the millenium stadium, therefore we wernt able to book a room at the cheaper price to include b&B ,a treatment from the spa,a breakfast, plus a 3 couse evening meal.

Cardiff AccomodationExcellent hotel and very reasonable through Late Rooms.Fire alarm in the middle o f the night was really annoying but almost certainly not the fault of the hotel. On checking out the desk had the incorrect credit card details which was a bit worrying. The non inclusion of breakfast was a shame.

A great short stayWe decided to book into the Mecure Holland House as a special treat on a visit back in the city to meet up with old university friends. We were very excited about staying in an upmarket hotel and were not disappointed. The views of the city were amazing and the cleanliness of the room and rest of hotel was great. The staff we spoke to were friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely stay again. Well worth the money.

Sunday night at Mercure Holland House Hotel CardiffThis is our tenth Sunday night at this hotel as we transport our son to and from Cardiff University. The accommodation is and has always been excellent with friendly, helpful staff and a superb breakfast. There is a delightful swimming pool, gym and underground car park. The hotel is very easy walking distance from the centre of Cardiff, where there are excellent shops and a few restaurants.
