Hotel was very easy to find from the railway station - just a short walk. We only stayed overnight - would have been good to have stayed a little longer to explore.

We arrived to discover a complete rewiring of the hotel was being undertaken to install air conditioning. So it was very noisy with workmen and their tools etc filling the corridors outside the room. No mention of this was made as we checked in. The rooms were extremely hot and the windows didn't open more than an couple of inches. We were provided with desk fans, but there was nowhere to put them. The rooms were tiny, The double bed filled them leaving little room to put a bag much less move around. Anyone more than slightly overweight would have found it impossible to use the bathroom. It was not at all clear from the website that the rooms were so small. The underground garage was also very tight and we scraped our standard sized car getting down the narrow entrance slope. Finally the hotel was located very conveniently for the station, but sandwiched between sex shops.

Near the train station in a not so nice street under improvement, though. Small rooms, reasonable service adequate to a 3 star hotel.

For starters, the hotel is in the train station area, wich we came to believe during our stay is a very bad neighborhood, judging by all the dangerous looking people we saw at every street corner and by all the sexy-clubs in the area. We did not felt safe in this hotel, although the area is a hotels area. The parking facilities were at basement, but the entrance in the parking was very narrow and abrupt, and very dangerous to try. So the cars stayed for approx 20 eur/night in the public parking of the train station, also not very safe looking. The room was VERY SMALL. It had an irregular form and the bed occupied the entire romm, making it difficult to go from one side of the room to the other. We could not move our baggages accross. The bathroom was also small, but very clean, and the lamps were heating surprisingly fast. We would not return to Mercure Center.

Quite a bit of construction taking place right in front of the hotel. Once completed, should be fine. Location is very convenient to transportation. Hotel itself is clean and comfortable.
