just rightLovely hotel, good service, great breakfast, views over river, parking outside (we were lucky), central location and still in the nice bit - just right for a night away (if the hotel could have sorted the queues for the Banksy exhibition it would have been perfect)

Saturday overnight stayIt was easy to park in the adjacent NCP car park although I had to pay £18 for the privilege. Perhaps I should have moved to the Cabot Circus which appears cheaper but I preferred the convenience. Staff were very courteous and helpful at reception. Our room was on the 5th floor and was described as "Superior". It was comfortable, quite big and I particularly liked the ability to slide open the huge window for a mini balcony view across the river. A deep bath was a pleasant change with lots of hot water AND I was able to watch TV via the mini screen on the facing wall while enjoying the soak. An excellent fitted shower was also in the bathroom which I used on Sunday morning and I love the bubbly aerated water from the washbasin taps while shaving (How do they do that?). We'd already booked a meal elsewhere for Saturday evening so didn't try the restaurant but the bar staff were attentive and knowledgable when we ordered a couple of drinks - (£8.75ish for G&T and a Tiger beer - a bit pricey I thought). Breakfast was included in the price on the Sunday morning and was superb. It was served from 7.30am. Due to our plans for the day we needed to be away from just after 8am to join our steam hauled excursion train from Temple Meads station so we walked into the dining room as soon as it opened and got 1st class service with freshly cooked eggs & bacon after helping ourselves to cereal, juice etc. I will certainly try and drag myself out of bed early again in whatever hotel I stay to avoid the bunfights at 9.30am in future. RECOMMENDED.

Birthday treatBooked here as it was the best value overnight deal i could find in Bristol and really was not dissappointed at all. Hotel is perfectly located near the main shopping and nightlife in bristol. Room was funky and fresh with a fab view over waterside (£10 upgrade to a superior room - Bargain!) Breakfast was good but I have had better, but please don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, it was more than adequate. Overall a fabulous nights stay at a great price - well done Laterooms

my stayMini bar was empty, rang concierge, they said had to pre book room service. So no drink. In morning rang again for a drink, lady said have to wait ages as we are serving breakfast. Air con was so noisey every 30 seconds. If you want to stay, go to the one stop around corner before it shuts otherwise you'll be going thirsty.

Great location, clean roomThe hotel is clean and in a great location within Bristol. The staff are friendly and facilities are excellent. There are a couple of downsides - 1) a river view is actually of trees (so not worth the extra) and 2) the sound insuulation between floors is not great so you will get woken up if the people in the room on the floor above are up early.

Great LocationIdeally located for central Bristol and right on the river which was nice. Very clean and staff were all helpful and friendly. Stayed 2 nights as was working in the area and had a pleasant stay. Only problem we encountered was noisy air con!

Great place for a city breakGreat hotel. Had a room overlooking the river. Very nice, quiet, yet a stone's throw from heaps of bars and restaurants. Breakfast until 12 is a big plus! More hotels should do it. Room was very clean, comfortable. Would stay here again.

Tried AgainWe stayed here a while back and had a disappointing stay. We complained and were assured our comments had been taken on board.Upon arriving my partner got there before me and checked in to find a twin room. He went staright to reception who insisted this is what we had booked. ( I had the paperwork not him incidently) He explained this but they said he had to pay £10 to be upgraded to a double room!He agreed to this and paid it.I took it up with reception on the morning and they credited it back but I think it is a very poor system.Breakfast was very understaffed and it took longer than one would hope for in a city centre hotel mainly catering for business travellers I would say. There were no pastries left at 8am and no sign of any coming. The cooked breakfast was nice when it came.We have tried this hotel twice now and we wont be doing it again.

Great location and excellent value for money. Rooms at the front of the hotel give you a view. Rooms at the back subject to loading/unloading things, so can be a bit noisy. Breakfast one of the best I've had! Comfy bed, good sized room and smart design. Will stay again.
