While in Bologna we took several side trips to near by histoorical locations. It was a great "base camp" plus being very centrally located in Bologna itself.

Mercure Bologna ReviewGreat hotel directly opposite the train station. Stayed there due to travelling to Rome the next day. Got a double room which was spotlessly clean with everything you would need. Restaurants & bars nearby. No problem in leaving your bags in the hotel which they looked after until my return the following day.

We walked out of the train station and there was our hotel! We could walk to the center of the city, and to a very good restaurant.

Very comfortable position, near the historical center and very closed to the train station. I was afraid to listen noise of trains, but nothing disturbed me there. I'll choose the hotel for my next trips.

We were only there for one night but it was a great location near the train station and a short walk to the center of town.

Hotel was clean and upscale. Good value and very convenient to both the train station and amenities of the city.

We stayed at ten different hotels throughout Italy during our trip and this was by far the cleanest and most air-conditioned hotel we found. It's like the W hotel on a budget. The garden is great, the people were friendly and it was right across the street from the train station. As Borat would say NICE!

expensive parking, breakfast not very good value-by italian standards, internet connection 35c per minute-ridiculous in the year 2008. Room 1970s style. not a big issue though.Location is good but there are other hotels around too.

Excellent (unbeatable) location for railway travellers. Quiet room (at back, overlooking garden). We got a fantastic deal through Late Rooms. Friendly service. We were due to arrive very early - I eventually (too late!) got a positive response to my e-mail asking if we could leave our luggage there until our room was ready. We could have avoided paying to leave it at the station.

When i booked the hotel,it was on the understanding that it would be a double room,the room was only a single.

Unfortunately in all areas except reception the air - con was hopelessly inadequate meaning a hot restless night. When I commented on this to a "French" manager she told me it gets hot in Italy!!! and this was only in June. Beware if you are travelling to this hotel in July and August. The price and other aspects were v good and I would use it in winter.
