Stayed on 2 night deal - excellent value. Room spacious but a bit dirty round the edges. Dinner on first night included and was lovely with good service. Breakfast also good. Didn't have time to use leisure facilities. Drove into Cambridge and parked easily on Castle Hill, 10 min drive down A14, for £5 per day. Location of this hotel good and would stay here again.

Menzies CambridgeNice hotel - Shame about the foodThe accomodation was ok, in a good location, however the food in the restraunt was overpriced and barely edible.I have stayed here before and eaten from the bar menu which was basic but good.

SmokyThe covered porch area in the hotel entrance was constantlu occupied by smokers making it impossible to enter or leave the building without walking through a concentrated cloud of smoke.

York - yum yumA decent hotel - great that it has FREE parking (often overlooked by many travellers).I had the 3 course fixed menu in the evening - great value for money.The only prob i had was the air con thing was on in the room - and i struggled to understand how to turn it off.That's being very picky - walking distance of the train station too.

All round excellence. Staff were all pleasant, friendly and exceedingly helpful.Standard of accommodation excellent. Room was spacious and bright. Bed very comfortable.Absolutely no complaints and this is possibly one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

Not the quality I would expect from a four star hotelI had no towels or bath mat in my bathroom, but eventually found one hand and one bath towel in the wardrobe. There were no extra blankets available and not one pen to be found anywhere in the room. These are basics one would expect from the simplest of hotels; for a four star I would expect this and a little bit more. The room service menu was very dull and limited. I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions - because of the convenient location, but this is not the first time I have been disappointed with the quality. Overpriced and disappointing yet again.

ReviewI booked a non-smoking room through Laterooms and was given a smoking room which smelt musty and horrible, on opeining the window for freh air the noise of the generator outside was irritating.Also, I think I was more Greek than the salad I ordered.

some things in the room need attention. One light shade is stained and needs replacing and the valence had been covered with splashed candle grease and badly needs . washing. What a pity there is no fridge in the room . £8.80 is too high aprice for two single gin and tonics in the golf bar. Cooked breakfast was so cold I had to have it heated up and they did not do a good job with that

Menzies CambridgeVery jaded hotel - booking in was fraught as inexpereienced person left on their own at busy evening booking in time. Lacklustre menus and the tariff was expensive for a 4 star. Pool and changing rooms were very average- the whole place felt run down. Very noisy too.

review on menzies cambridge hotelHotel is easy to get to and parking is ample. Reception area was smart but the quality of rooms were quite poor. We had change rooms twice. Once because the double standard room was in very poor condition (e. wallpaper coming off the walls) and the second time because our tv was not working (Hairdryer was broken too.) When we were given our third room we did have a wedding party next to our room and music til 1am. The night stay was not quiet and relaxing which is what we were looking for and I would not say it is a four star hotel although the food was very good.

Mixed review...The room was standard. Unfortunately the hair dryer was broken and informing reception of this produced no results.The air conditioning alarm went off at 7am saturday morning and woke us up - not the best start to the day as we had to wait for reception to come and fix it.Food at the restrant was excellent and the pool facilities were good.

Only problem with the room was the double bed (not big) was against the wall which made life difficult for whoever got the inner berth - trapped!! Room was nice and clean and we didnt eat

Misleading BookingWhen I booked it appeared I could only book a room, and not room and breakfast. As a result the breakfast was extra and at £9.95 seemed a little on the dear side.Otherwise it all went well and the leisure complex was adequate for my needs. However if there had been 10 people in the pool it would have been crowded.

I will definately stay againI was made welcome, The room was lovely and bed was comfortable. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to try out the leisure facilities as I arrived late but I will bring my swimming costume next time.
