We are situated in Douglas the capital of the island and the many attractions of the island are within reach. Whether your visit is for business or pleasure the Melrose is an ideal base, great for families, couples and businessmen. Ideally located for the business sector, shops, promenade and the many bars and restaurants Douglas has to offer. Also for the more energetic there are some beautiful designated walks throughout the island. The Melrose serves a full English breakfast in our well appointed Dining Room. Varied breakfast menu and Vegetarians catered for on request. Highchair available if required. The spacious comfortable television lounge gives you the opportunity to relax when the mood takes you.

The following questions have been answered for you by Melrose Guest House...

What are your breakfast options?: We serve a full cooked English breakfast but there are plenty of cereals, toast and orange juice as well. Usually breakfast is served from 8:00am to 9:00am but will do an earlier breakfast by arrangement.
What transport is available to get around?: We are in the centre of town so most places within Douglas are within walking distance. For travel further afield there is a steam railway to the south of the island, an electric railway to the north of the island, a horse tram which travels the length of the promenade and a bus service to all the towns and villages. The airport is close to Castletown (12 miles from Douglas), there is a regular bus service every half hour or so to Douglas. Alternatively, a taxi from the airport into Douglas will cost about £20. Car hire is also popular among visitors wanting to see more of out of the way places.
What can I do nearby?: We are a small guest house in the centre of Douglas close to shops, restaurants, bars, public transport and the Manx Museum just a two minute walk away.
Do you have internet?: We have free wi-fi throughout the guest house.
Do you provide parking?: As we are a town centre location, parking is on street only but there is a long stay car park a couple of minutes away and it is possible to park here all day for about £5 if people are not wanting to use their vehicle.
