My entire family went on vacation. Both sons, wives, and 2 grandsons. Only 5 minutes from the airport to the hotel, and a 10 minute bus ride into Puerto Vallarta. Went into town several days to see our favorite places, spent the rest of the time at the pool with everyone. Staff was simply GREAT, rooms were very clean and very nice. The food was above average for an all-inclusive stay. We will definately be back in the near future.

The food was great and wonderful beach friendly staff. Small refrigerator that did not work well. Our room was over the bar for the first few days, but we were changed to a great room by our request. This was a very nice hotel. We liked the all-inclusive. The room was nice and a great beach. The staff responded to our requests in a timely manner. We would recommend it to anyone wanting a great vacation in Puerta Vallarta.

Have beem at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed my stay. Employees are helpful and security is good. Have stayed at places with nicer beaches. Variety of food at the all inclusive is good and several restaurants to choose from for dinner. Location not far from the center of town and area is safe. Nightly stage shows with different themes.

I love the Melia and have been back multiple times. The location is great- not too far from town and close to the Marina. Staff is very friendly and our room was nice with a good view. Many families and quiet. No constant game announcements at the pool. Breakfast and lunch are the best! The local bus is always available to take you to town. I was happy that Puerto Vallarta was safe as ever. We can always count on a relaxing week.

We didn't know much about the hotel before we got there, but our overall experience was amazing once we got there! The people that worked there were all super friendly and accomodating. The food was incredible (breakfast, lunch and dinner!). They had a good variety of imported and domestic alcohol (and not the cheap stuff either!) and really tasty drinks (Margaritas, Mojitos, Cups of nothing). The crowd at the hotel was mixed; a lot of families but also some couples and younger groups. The hotel had activities to accomodate everyone and I would definitely go back there, especially when I have kids. The hotel was only 10-15 minutes from downtown and very easy to get to by bus/cab. The only downfall was that the beach was pretty small and nothing to really rave about. The last bar in the hotel closes at 1 am so if you're one of those who likes to party all night, take a cab into town to keep the night going! Trip was altogether great and we definitely got what we paid for!

We spent our days laying by the pool relaxing and reading! When we needed something to drink, either a waitress was close by, or one of several places to go get something was close. I was traveling alone with my 17 year old daughter, but felt safe with her the whole time. We never had to leave the resort because there were enough restaurant choices and evening entertainment for us. We wanted true relaxation and time together and that was exactly what we found!

Though I have never been to Mexico or a all-inclusive so I have nothing to compare it to, this was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Grounds were kept clean and neat. Pool was nice. My wife really liked the activities and shows at night. We traveled to Melia for a wedding with a group of about 30. The wedding was beautiful on the penninsula. Food was OK, the Italian restaurant was the best. Looked like a nice place for families, although we did not travel with our kids. I would not hesitate recommending resort to my friends.

This was our first all inclusive vacation and our first time in Puerto Villarta. Our trip was at the end of February, 2009. We plan to return to the Melia and would like to take our teenage children, next time. The Melia is a great place for couples or families. The food was fabulous. The pool was clean, refreshing and the service was first class. It compared with 5 star hotels I've stayed at in the past. The only thing I will do differently on our next trip is take a taxi to and from the airport. The taxi ride is only five minutes from the hotel and cost approximately $5 for a couple or family, round trip. The shuttle service was $52 and included pressure to listen to the timeshare pitch. In fact, the return shuttle didn't come for us, so after waiting for half an hour at our appointed scheduled pick up, we took a taxi. If we didn't have the shuttle service, we would've jumped into a taxi when we felt like leaving, without waiting for a scheduled appointment pick-up. Taxis are available on a second's notice, both at the Melia and the airport. We took a taxi to the Molican flea market both days we were there and bartered for a few good deals in silver souveniers for family members that couldn't travel with us. It only cost $8 each way by taxi. We used US dollars for everything--even at the market. There were always plenty of chairs by the pool. There never was a need to rush down early in the morning and put towels on chairs to reserve them. Drinks were plenty strong, but you could ask for specific liquor brands. The pool bar did have quite a few bees, so I never chose to linger there longer than it took to pick up my drinks and return to the pool's edge, where there were no bees. I would HIGHLY recommend the Hotel Melia in Puerto Villarta. But grab a taxi from the airport to the hotel and back again. It's a lot faster and cheaper! What a great way to relax and thaw in the middle of winter.

Went to the nightly shows that were done by the same group of 10-15 people and they were very talented. Never been to Mexico before, but I feel like I received the best treatment. If you are looking for real authentic Mexican food-this would not be the place to go. Everything was very "American" for food selection.

Had a pleasant experience at the Melia. Even though it was advertised as a family hotel,it was not a problem. Ate out every other day to experience the local restaurants. Especially around the marina. The staff were excellent. Never a problem getting what you needed. Would certainly go back to the Melia and recomend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful time. We were there for 3 weeks starting Feb. 1st to the 22nd. This is the second year we have done this. Not once did we have a bad moment. The service was excellent and the staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. We had extra treats in our room in the afternoon quite a few of the days i.e. chocolate dipped strawberries, cheese plates & wine which was a very pleasant surprise and very much appreciated. The food was good but not exceptional but after three weeks anywhere would get repetitious. Liquor was abundant and a great selection of drinks - couldn't get Canadian Rye Whiskey though. All in all, hotel is great and will probably go back again next year.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are very nice. Beaches/pools/etc. were clean. Rooms always taken care of. Food was really good for the most part. Transportation could not have been any easier, especially from the hotel to the airport and main city...and back! Definitely would recommend this vacation.

The Melia Puerto Vallarta overall was comfortable and on a par with other all inclusive properties. I was impressed with the friendliness of the hotel staff and the check-in/out process. Location and access to outside restaurants is not so good making all-inclusive the way to go if you are staying here. Access to the internet was not so good and it would be nice if guests were allowed to use it for free.

I have been going to the hotel for over 6 years. The staff is helpful and seem pleased to serve their quests. They are starting to remodel their rooms. The food is good but I found that the food in Cancun was better but the Melia is an excellent place for the price when selecting the all-inclusive plan. The rooms are large with a balcony. The bathroom is all tile with tub with shower. The facility isn't far from the city and airport. Safe and bottled water is included. In Cancun their was a $2.00 charge daily for use of the safe and a charge for all bottled water. Close to bus line and many tours will pick you up at the hotel and return you after the tour is over. The Melia has the largest swimming pool in Puerto Vallarta. You can walk from the hotel to the Marina.

Overall I feel like the hotel was great. The room was a great size with a great view! I loved the large bathroom but I wished the bathtub would have been a larger. The hotel was great. The food was great but I would have liked more sit-down and order restaurants, and the drinks were great. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

The Melia Vallarta has a uniquely Mexicanambience which we found charming. Our room was large, clean and nicely furnished with two comfortable chairs for relaxing, a large closet, iron and ironing board. The bathroom facilities were modern and the toiletries provided are first rate. The balcony was not conducisve to outdoor sitting -- small and very sunny. The food in the restaurants is excellent. The buffets have much to offer. We are two adults, however, we were impressed with the scope and variety of family-oriented programs for children of all ages. The hotel is an easy taxi ride from the airport and also to downtown. The marina is within walking distance. The neighborhood is safe and pleasant for walking.The public areas of the hotel are attractive and inviting. The beach is small but adequate. Service is excellent.

The Milea in Pureto Vallarta was a beautiful Resort. We went Mid-September and it wasn't wall to wall people. The staff was excellent willing to accomidate us in every way. The grounds were very well manicured and beautiful. Our room overlooked the gardens and the Pacific Ocean. The location was wihtin reach of downtown by bus and taxi.
