We had a great time. We were able to use the beach for some swimming, but the ocean (and sea) here are just not all that swim friendly. Beautiful scenery though. The hotel did not have a lot of activities planned, but we had no trouble finding excursions and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was average at best at the buffets, but we failed to take advantage of the "reservation" dining, so that may have been great. Overall it was a great value and we'd recommend it to anyone looking to visit Cabo. Oh, the beds were REALLY firm so you may want to prepare by sleeping on a board for a few nights! Okay, not quite that firm, but not overly comfortable.

when we checked in they tried to give me a garden view room and i had been guaranteed an ocean front. after i showed them my confirmation of the ocean front room the front desk tried to charge me 68 per child extra. the pool was dirty and the lounge chairs were 80% old and broken. the food was bad and the restaurants dirty. i would never stay at this place again! it is an all inclusive yet every one of the staff is waiting around for a tip.

Fabulous time at the Melia, went for 1 week, all inclusive. Felt like a smaller boutique hotel as it only had 300 rooms. One of the only swimming beaches at a hotel in all of Cabo. Staff were always friendly and some of the most hard working people I've ever come across. Pool, rooms, lobby, lobby bar, restaurants & food, beach, staff, activities, location (20 mins to Cabo, or 20 mins to San Jose) and some of the best golf courses we've ever played. We cannot wait to return next year for 2 weeks and we will be bringing a bunch of extended family and friends!

Most of our time was spent lounging at the pool. It made for a beautiful and relaxing trip. I was concerned about the location of the resort, being so far from Cabo, but this was not a draw back at all. We had a great time, and the food was excellent!

Positives: Very clean hotel. Friendly & nice staff. Great pool area. Negatives: Extremely long wait for food at hotel restaurants (except buffet. e.g., waited over 1 hour for appetizer & this was not just one night), food not that great, beds are extremely hard, no wi-fi (charge is ~ 6 / 30 min to use), shuttle times to town (Cabo or San Jose) are limited, taxi to Cabo San Lucas is 50 round trip and San Jose is 40 rt, very small gym & treadmills and one of the bicycles were broken during entire week stay. FYI: Took vacation during first week of March. It gets chilly at night, bring a light coat! Cabo is an expensive town all around from hotel amenities to drinks at bars (4 jagebombs @ Cabo Wabo = 50). Definitely do the Cabo Adventures Outdoor Adventures zip lining! But, save the 200 on the dune buggies...very lame, slow paced, single file driving, machines broke down a lot. Had fun but definitely preferred Cancun.

My husband and I just got back last night from Cabo- we wanted a nice, affordable getaway for 4th of July weekend, and we definitely got it!Overall, the Melia Cabo Real is a great value for an all-inclusive resort. The rooms were good, although we could tell that they are older- we could see some cracks in the door frames and the lamp shades by the beds need to be replaced. The daily cleaning staff was very good, however, and cleaned and tidied things up daily (they start early, so expect a knock on the door at about 10).The staff and front desk staff were very attentive. They went out of their way to make sure our needs were taken care of. A few notes to those venturing outside of the resort: first, the city bus goes into Cabo and only costs about $.70- another couple said it was safe and easy, so we tried it and they were right. We ended up taking a taxi back to the resort since it was getting dark, which brings me to the second point- if you take a taxi, make sure you get the taxi company's name, the name of the driver, and where you were picked up. We forgot our digital camera in the taxi, and by the time we realized it he was gone- the front desk (I think [...]) offered to help us track down the company, but we didn't remember enough details of where we were when we were picked up or what the company's name was. We were hoping he would bring our camera back when he realized it was there, but no such luck, unfortunately.About the food- the food was average, and not as good as some of the other inclusives we've been to in Puerto Vallarta and Cancun. Breakfast and lunch buffets are at La Pallapa, which is outside at the pool (beautiful views!)- breakfast is pretty much the same every day, including an omlette station and lunch varies from day to day. There is also a food bar at the pool, which offers pork tacos, quesadillas, hamburgers, hotdogs, ice cream, etc. I recommend this if you're enjoying youself at the pool and don't want to get dressed to eat!For dinner,

We just returned from the Melia and can't stop talking about the this place. It was the perfect distance from the city of Cabo, which we found very noisy, dusty and had alot of construction, but we did find quite a few really cool places to stop for a cocktail. However, the Melia was clean and picture perfect. The rooms were always clean, but the beds are a bit on the firm side. The food was pretty good at the buffet especially breakfast where they had everything you could want. Our dining experience at La Terraza and Kujira were great, the food is excellent and we did not have to wait very long for a table, maybe 20 minutes tops. Make sure you order 3 or 4 things off of these menus, as the portions are small. The evening were a little chilly, but if you are prepared and know the weather before you go you should be fine, we never needed anything more than a light jacket. This place has alot of activities during the day such as water aerobic classes, zip line, beach walks, spanish lessons, pottery and jewelry making clases, and pool volleyball. Cocktail service was a little slow around the pool during the last few days of our stay, but our favorite waitress, Elena, was off those days. We were able to book our activities, such as fishing, ATV's and the whale watching cruise that we took on the Bucaneer Quenn (which I highly recomend) in one place right at the resort. We loved this resort because it had everything you could want under one roof, and it was a safe and clean place to enjoy our vacation. We will be returning to Cabo and the Melia in the future.

My husband and I LOVED our stay at the Melia Hotel. The staff was SO friendly and professional!! The facilities were beautiful. The drinks were the BEST. We had such an amazing time there that we didn't want to come back. The only minor suggestion is that the bathroom should have some upgrades. That's about it. Highly recommend this hotel!!!

For the most part I would recommend this resort to friends. Rooms were clean, felt safe, middle class people, comfortable. My only complaint is that the dinner resteraunts (japanese and Mediteranian) were very BAD!! We put our name on the wait list 1 hour prior to dining and it would still take 2 hours to have our order taken and food delivered. Breakfast and lunch at the buffet were great and had excellent wait staff there. Next time we will be dining out instead of waisting 2 hours a night on trying to get dinner!!! Overall I would come back again!!!

My wife and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon through Orbitz. We got a great deal including airfare and our room for 5 nights. We were very happy with all of the staff (greeting us with a cocktail upon our arrival). As far as all-inclusives go, the Melia had really pretty good food, and there was always a place to get a drink (poolside bar 11am-6pm, lobby bar 5pm-1am). The Melia is about a 20min drive into Cabo San Lucas ($25 cab ride, or free limited shuttles from the hotel and back), which we enjoyed because we felt like we were a bit away from the action, but could easily get into town. The Hotel isn't that new (built in the late 80s I think), but they do a very good job on upkeep and updating. Overall we had a great time and we were sad to check-out to come home!

Staying at the Melia hotel made me enjoy Cabo more. The view from my hotel room was breathtaking. The room was quite spacious with 14' celings and a nice balcony with comfy lounging chairs. The staff was absolutely phenomenal - they literally catered to your every need. The hotel had various activities for adults and kids. I liked the all inclusive dinning. However, I would have preferred if they rotated between restaurants instead of dining at the same one most of the time. I would highly recommend taking the Shuttle to the Cabo San Lucas town. It's free and you get to explore the town. There are several small stores as well as boutiques. I'm not much of a bar person but there were several bars for those who like to party it up! There are also many activities to choose from such as snorkelling, jetskis, whalewatching, horsebackriding as well as tours. I took the Pirate Bucaneer sunset Cruise. It was fun but I think it is definitely better to go as a group. I also went horsebackriding. I highly recommend this for couples. The view along the path was beautiful and serene. I will definitely come back to Melia with family or a group of friends!

This is the first time that I experienced an all inclusive and it was great, the whole place the food, people, and drinks, could not ask for a better place to stay.

We stayed at Melia Cabo Real for 6 nights and 7 days for our honeymoon. The resort was absolutely amazing! The pool was huge, and we always got a lounge chair to rest on. The drinks were good, the food was good, and everyone was extrememly friendly. We mostly lay at the pool and relaxed. We visited the beach, and even got to swim next to the breakwall. I was disappointed that the beach bar wasn't open, however I understand the reason, being that not too many people were down on the beach. Our only complaint was the mattress in our room (2412) was very uncomfortable. We woke up every morning with our backs in such pain!We had massages by the ocean, by [...], which were wonderful. Very well priced as well! The items in the gift shop were a bit overpriced ($8 USD for shampoo, $9 USD for deodorant, $20 USD for sunscreen!). Next time we know to bring plenty of our own so that we don't have to spend that money.Overall, a fantastic experience, and we will recommend visiting this resort to everyone we know!

This hotel exceeded my expectations!! It was a great place to relax! The beach is swimmable. The staff is very helpful. The drinks and the buffet are all very good quality. The Mexican Fiesta is very fun for adults and kids and the food is delicious. Although it was all-inclusive I would always tip my servers. The only bad thing I can think of are the matresses they are a little uncomfortable other than that stay here you will not regret it.

We wanted an all inclusive resort. When you view this hotels website, it offers 4-5 restaraunts, however during our stay there was ONE buffet and ONE nicer restaraunt available. The nice restaraunt took reservations only and it was booked solid within 10 minutes of taking reservations every day. This was a honeymoon trip - and the staff was not very accomodating.

I wasn't expecting the Melia to be as nice as it was. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. Favorite thing: Pina Coladas. They do something magic to them.

Very nice location, can swim from beach and snorkel at the right time...hard to find in Cabo. Resort almost exactly between Downtown Cabo and Downtown San Jose, so a rent a car would be an idea......

The hotel had alot of thing to do for everyone. They made it so you would'nt have to leave the hotel unless you wanted.
