Spacious and luxurious rooms by European standards. Fair distance from the main part of the city.

My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon visit to Rome in May 2008. I had actually stayed here once before for one night waiting on a cruise in 2006. The staff arranged a car to pick us up from Leonardo DaVinci airport, the price was reasonable and driver was friendly and recommended a nice restaurant at the top of the Spanish Steps (Ciampinis). The hotel is very new with a friendly and helpful staff that speaks English well. The rooms are comfortable with nice bathrooms. When we were there in early May the pool was closed so we didn't get to try that. There is an onsite restaurant, but we did not use that either. The problem with this hotel is the location, the hotel is located about a 20 to 30 minute shuttle ride from the Vatican City area. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle, which when I was there the first time had two drop off points (the Vatican area, and Piazza Barberini). The last time it was only the Vatican area, which fortunately is right by a subway stop. It makes it difficult having to plan your day around the shuttle rides, and the last one back to the hotel leaves at 11 p.m. If you don't mind the shuttle, then this is a nice, comfortable hotel. If you plan on making alot of trips into the city then this might not be the best place for you.

This hotel is a scam! We needed a taxi to the airport. The taxi driver who drove us to the hotel from the subway said it would cost * from the hotel to the airport. When we got to the hotel they said it would cost *. We had to go to the city and call cabs ourselves - it only cost us only *. The hotel has a deal with some local taxi drivers. If they call the same taxi drivers, they split the cost between themselves. There is nothing walking distance in this area either.

Hard to find due to poor directions. Though hotel was very nice with a good quality resturant.

For Italy excellent international quality standard. Poor security, back doors open 24 hours with access control to hotel.

hotel info stated ""4 miles from the Vatican."" It tool 25 min by cab and 45 minutes by hotel bus. That really ruined all our plans. The hotel was beautiful and the staff excellent.

Courteous hotel staff willing to work with you to provide an enjoyable stay. The free shuttle to Rome was a free-for-all, needs to be managed better.

Great overall experience! Rooms are large and bathrooms are wonderful! Hotel is very clean, staff is wonderful. The bar and food is a little pricey. The hotel is not in central Romw but a 30 minute busride outside. If complimentary bus is full, a taxi ride costs about 20 Euros. Not too bad. Could see that being an issue in high tourist season. Beautiful city and hotel!

Staff was very helpful, they had a bus to town. Internet was very expensive.

The hotel was very clean and the staff FANTASTIC. The restaurant was expensive but very tasty. The shuttle is a 50 seat bus and was full one of the times we tried to use it. A cab cost us around 15 Euro to the Vatican.

Upgrade your room if you can. The bus service was a great feature. Our room was wonderful. The restaurant was very good, but expensive. Room service was good but there was a nine Euro charge for room service above the food cost. Still, it was very quiet and comfortable.

Free shuttle into Rome. Cost for what we received.

Quiet and safe location. For a first time visitor, it was very difficult to find out where the hotel was, or how to get there. The hotel was very nice, in a great location, quiet, reasonable, and provided a free shuttle service near the Vatican or the underground. The mattress was very stiff and lacked a decent box spring. The bar menu was limited. The hotel restaurant was very upscale for dinner. The morning breakfast buffet was outstanding.

Clean, friendly staff, great shuttle and nice lobby bar. A bit old (worn) although quite clean. Food and beverages quite expensive. Overall, nice hotel but not the 4 star luxury one would expect in North America. The hotel was quite clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not enjoy the upscale dinner restaurant although the food at the lobby bar was good. The breakfast (again expensive 10.5 Euros for Continental and 16 Euros for American full breakfast) was quite tasty with fresh baked goods, etc. The drinks at the hotel lobby (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were quite expensive. For example, a diet coke was 8.5 Euro and my father had a double scotch that cost around 15 Euros. We did hear other patrons shocked about the drink prices. The coffee and tea drinks were nice and came with little cookies - a lovely touch. The free shuttle service was good going into downtown Rome. Overall, a lovely hotel, the rooms a little older looking but very clean, the staff was lovely.

Nice room and facilities. Good restaurant. Shuttle was important feature. Location was very isolated. Unable to get coffee for our room without doing room service. No clocks readily visible. Very nice facility and rooms. Hotel restaurants offered good food and service but cocktails were expensive. Location is very isolated making it near impossible to walk anywhere for entertainment or casual exercise; however, the hotel shuttle bus helped greatly and the cab service was excellent (but expensive). Would definitely go back to this hotel!

"our stay in roma was nice. the thing about roma that wasn't pleasant was our hotel. for the most part, it was ok. the hotel from afar looks grand, it is not very nice at all. our beds had hair in them. the shower was terrible. the breakfast was awful. but because roma is such a beautiful place, the hotel became a very small issue. the shuttle "

The pool was nice, the bed was large, the staff were helpful, it had a tub. The food at the restaurant was terrible. The hotel was very nice. It was located a long way from Rome, however the shuttle bus was available. I would recommend more shuttle bus times. If the shuttle bus filled up, then you were out of luck. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was terrible. Overall a nice hotel and I would go back.
