Great Hotel in a fabulous location one minute from the central square. Rooms were spotless -we stayed in one of the rooms with a shared bathroom, which was large and excellent value for money. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence.

The worst was the breakfast. Was really poor. The last two days we went to have our "cafe latte" at the corner bar!. It would have been grate to have air conditioning in the room, the first night was impossible to sleep. In general we had a good time there!.

with a roof terrace over looking the dumo and city...and being best price accommodation in the city as well as being walking distance to everything...it was worth every penny!

We stayed in Florence for 3 nights. And we didn't sleep well at all. The beds are hard et pillows very thin... The environnement was noisy late at night and very early in the morning. The breakfast served at the hotel is a real joke. Coffee was hawful and we only had some bread, crackers, butter and jam... The only morning we took it there, we went out to eat again...

Perfect sight to the duomo on the highest floor. Might be noisy.

the hotel has an excellent location, realy just 100 m from the Duomo, so we could enjoy the nightlife, the staff was helpfull, unfortunately between 6:00 am and 7:30 the streets close to the hotel were cleaned and we were woken up because it was very noisy, we had room for 4, but it seems to be duble room originaly and just 2 beds were added, so there was not enough space, even thought I will recomend this accomodanion to my friends, just it will be better to take two duble rooms instead of one quadruple

I had a little trouble convincing the guy at the front desk I had reserved two rooms. Other than that they were ver helpful. Decour and furniture is beyond minimalist: a bed, a night table barely able to withstand the weight of a lamp a small desk and a chair. No mirror. The shower was inadequate, measuring some 40 cm by 60 cm. One of our rooms was between the kitchen and the (very ample!) breakfast room, making it impossible to sleep beyond 7 am. Still it is unexpensive and perfectly located a few steps away from the Piaza della Republica. Good option if you are traveling cheap, else its beast avoided.

Service and attitude of staff was patchy, some good some bad. Excellent location and great value for money considering the location. Roof terrace has huge potential and great view across Florence but untidy & unattractive .... with a clean up and a rooftop bar would be fabulous. Rooms were clean & spacious bathroom compact but serviceable.

the best thing in the hotel is the location of the hotel.

The Medici offers a great feature, which is what attracted me to this hotel: their rooftop terrace. The city view is breathtaking, the terrace itself is very welcoming with tables and chairs and plants. Very nice. Our room had a window to the street, so it was extremely noise, specially on Sat. night when all the people were out and about until 3-4am. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is not it, but if you don't mind the city noisy. The hotel has an elevator, which is very helpful with the luggage. The room was spacious, bathroom was also large and clean. No t.v. or phone (ok with us!) Overall, very pleasant stay. Location of hotel is great!! close proximity to most mayor attractions.

Absolutely abysmal hotel. Not clean by any standards. No air con so very very noisy when trying to sleep with windows open. Staff indifferent - public area totally lacking in any useful tourist information. The breakfast was the worst I have ever had in 5 visits to Italy as was the hotel generally. If the view of the Duomo is the be all and end all for your stay in Florence then book but if not stay well clear. Staying at an hotel as bad as this could almost put you off Florence and that really takes some doing. Other than being very close to the Duomo and having an impressive view of the same from the rooftop there was absolutely no other redeeming feature whatsoever. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent location in the heart of Florence with a fabulous view of the Duomo from the terrace. Although the rooms on the 5th floor were comfortable, during the night there was some noise coming from the HVAC of the building across the street. The food offered for breakfast was limited to bread rolls and jelly. Next time I will be in Florence, I will definitely return to the Hotel and I will recommend it to my friends.

My overall review is good for the Medici Hotel...The things I would like to highlight is that there was no central heating...(there was hot water fortunately) and that towels, linens and duvets provided by the hotel were old and of bad quality. But, the location is so central and helps you to forget all the above small problems.

A very good option for an affordable stay in Florence. Realiable and comfortable hotel in the middle of the historical center of the city. WIll gladly repeat and use it as reference.

This is a very reasonable hotel for the price. The room was very basic, but spacious. No TV. Lovely view of the Doumo, while you’re on the toilet! :) There was a very odd shower in that it was just the faucet coming out of the wall - tiles noted the shower “area” but there were no doors or anything. And there was another odd faucet coming out of the wall by the toilet. A European thing that we’re not familiar with perhaps? Our door did not lock properly and the dead lock did not work. We made our own security system out of an empty Bellini bottle. Breakfast was the most basic we had in Europe – 1 roll each, packet of hard toast, American coffee, tea or juice. That’s it. Staff at breakfast was not friendly, but the breakfast room was nice. There is an elevator, location is great! Front desk staff was helpful when we needed them, otherwise they stayed to themselves. Overall, good value for the money. Inexpensive and very basic and best for the low-maintenance traveler.

In reference to the Hotel Medici, we were immediately underwhelmed by the rather cold, smug reception at the front desk. However, other front-desk attendants were incredibly warm and helpful. The breakfast was abysmal: meager, served grudgingly, lacking in general. In fact, I had to go after it in order to be served. The rooftop space is spectacular, however. The room was quite small, understood, but without the recourse of even a television during days of pouring rain, its smallness was claustrophobic and stifling. The surroundings are corporate-commercial, not what one would expect of Florence, just off the Duomo. This is not the hotel's fault, but soured our expectations nevertheless. I would not recommend the place in general, unless you plan to only sleep there, nothing else.

The hotel has been completely refurbished since I was last there four years ago, and they have done a good job. The location, in the city centre near the cathedral, is the outstanding feature. The terrace has superb views. Try to get a 5th or 6th floor room with a cathedral view. The only drawback is that the hotel can be a bit noisy with sounds from the street and from neighbouring buildings.

The hotel was fine for our one night stay, but I will mention things that others may want to know. In the lobby and elevator it smelled like sourkraut or sewage. But the rooms did not smell. We had 2 crying babies next to us, walls are thin. There is not a TV in the room and the towels are like tabelcloth material. We joked that it was like a monastary becasue there wasn't much to the room. Staff answered all questions although they weren't always happy to do it. Breakfast was the night before's dinner rolls. But it was clean, safe, and also in an EXCELLENT location within walking distance of everything you would want to see or do.
