The McKinley Grand Hotel was not as grand as anticipated. While it certainly has a historic charm, my husband and I found that our room was in need of repair. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, carpet in need of being restretched or replaced, etc. I was intially displeased with the room but found the hotel staff to be very welcoming and accomodating. Once we had settled in, we ate at a near by restaurant. The location of the hotel is great. There were several places we could go to eat within a short distance from the hotel. When we came back to the hotel we anticipated a restful night's sleep but were disappointed. Loud talkers, people laughing and running up and down the halls, woke us up at 3:00 in the morning. We notified the front desk of the noise but it did not seem to improve. Upon check out we were a little tired and upset about our stay. But the employees at check out didn't seem to care. The man that checked us out barely looked up from his computer and never asked, How was your stay? Perhaps he alreay knew from our faces that it was not grand.

Very nice lobby. Slow restaurant service. Excellent location, very nice lobby. No parking and no vending machines.

Only real problem with this hotel is the service...it really is lousy. Put a card out for room service the night before and it was still on the door the next morning (I see from other reviews this has happened before). Rooms are comfortable but not outstanding; rooms are also clean. I would just rate this place as average, maybe like a 2 1/2 star hotel. Much better coffee can defiintely be found elsewhere too.

I actually was in Canton for a memorial service, and I was traveling alone. This hotel is a really lovely place with an excellent, friendly, helpful staff. I felt totally safe, and the room was large, with a luxurious bathroom and beautiful bed linens on such a comfy kingsized bed. The only thing I missed was being able to eat breakfast or lunch on Sunday morning because their restaurant is closed,. The young man on the desk told me of a place closeby instead. There was a large, loud wedding reception going on Sat night, but I did not hear anything in my room on the 3rd floor. This hotel is directly across the street from the First Ladies Museum. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again anytime.

The rooms were clean. The shuttle drivers always were so polite. I will be making many trips to Canton over the next several years.

The staff was very friendly andthe room was clean. Nothing. I was very pleased with my stay at the McKinley Grand. The staff was very polite, the room was very clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable. I wish my stay would have been longer than one night! I didn't get a chance to check out the workout room or pool.

I arrived at 7pm wanting a nice dinner before retiring for the evening. I was surprised to find the main restaurant closed. I was told a limited menu was available in the bar, but there was a convention in the hotel and the bar was literally packed with only one bartender and one server working. I was finally able to eat after 9:30pm! I placed the breakfast order placard on the doorknob at 11pm, so I could have breakfast in my room the following morning. 20 minutes after the breakfast should have been delivered, I opened the door to find the placard was still hanging on the knob - never collected overnight.

overall the hotel was good. the only problems were that they did not have my room booked when i got there, but was taken care of. the price of drinks at the bar were extremley over priced. 4.25 for a beer? a little much. food was decent. overall pretty good stay.

It is probably one of the nicest hotels in the area. The hotel check in didnt go too well but they tried the best they could concidering a huge football team just checked out and the fact that it was Labor Day weekend didnt help. Now I did move from 3 rooms because they were not cleaned properly. The 3rd room was clean but smelled of smoke even though the room was a non smokeing room. I attribute that to the last guest who checked out not the upkeep of the hotel staff. They immediatly re cleaned the room and deoderized it as well. Now I must say I am a clean freak so I went over everything again with paper towel and a organic cleaner just to make sure but, It was spotless they did a fantastic job. The bed was comfortable and they kept the towels comming. Overall I liked the hotel. The Cons would be the gap in the door to the hallway was annoying with light and sounds of people chatting in the hallway. Also the parking garage that is attached by a walkway was a little far at times but thats just cause I am lazy. The downtown area has improved since I was last there but make sure to stay in the parking garage to make things safe. But thats with most dowtown areas even here in Austin,TX. I will stay there again.

Location. No full length mirror, cold hot tub, mold in bathroom and broken curtain. Staff indifferent, room clearly not properly cleaned (mold in bathtub), uncomfortable furniture, wonderful bed/linens, not women friendly.

The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of historic sites and great restaurants. Visited the hotel restaurant too - the food was good and the service was great! They provided a free shuttle to our event at the Civic Theatre. The room/bathroom was very clean. Bed was comfortable with lots of pillows - a great overall experience. I would go back again.

My wallet was stolen from this hotel and used at nearby businesses and charged 150. When I questioned the staff they said they had not had any wallets turned i. Their staff was rude and accused me of losing my wallet somewhere else. Their manager has still not called me back after leaving three messages. Obviously a member of the staff found my wallet in my room and stole it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

The room decor and comfort exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff was not very eager to help me with my bags especially considering parking was around the corner and I was traveling with a 5 year old. The hotel exceeded my expectations especially considering what I paid. The room was quite nice, clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant staff was very nice. The front desk staff was friendly enough but not very eager to help or offer suggestions on getting around the city.

Very nice hotel. Best in the area. I travel quite often to this area and have stayed at a few different hotels, but this one is exceptional. Lobby is most elegant like a big city hotel. Rooms a clean and the bed is the most comfortable I've had. Restaurant has good food and is priced moderately for the market. The sales staff is extremely professional and met all of our needs. Meeting rooms are adequate, but the service is nothing less than perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Very close to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Downtown area has some unique restaurants.

Beautiful downtown hotel with reasonably priced parking! This beautiful hotel is a real gem in Canton OH. There is a spectacular chandelier in the lobby that makes you feel like you have entered a hollywood set! The staff was welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised with our visit. After reviewing the hotel online, the 2 star (out of 5)rating was a concern as were the pictures appearing on the site. However, upon our arrival, we discovered this is an absolutely beautiful hotel. We were taken care of by attendant and dedicated staff. We were made to feel quite comfortable and enjoyed our New Year's Eve stay tremendously. The room was clean and meticulously well kept, as was the rest of the hotel. We had a safe and fun New Year's Eve here and would definitely consider doing this again.

Nice comfortable, great lounge with a spectacular bartender, very nice common areas. Parking. This hotel was very nice, rooms were upscale, lounge was upscale but not stuffy, common areas were really nice - even have a classic car museum within the hotel.

Very nice atmosphere, esp Early American Themes. Aroom with 2 double beds, too small for my wife.
