refurbishing work going on but did not cause any problems-excellent value for money.normally go to shearings hotels throughout scotland for short breaks but this beats them all for cleanliness,food and entertainment

This hotel was a total disaster. We had to ask for clean pillows because the pillows were so badly stained that the first night I left them on the floor because I could not consider putting my head on them (it was late when we found this out and reception was closed). The bedsheet that I had was so old and worn that it was all bobbly at foot level. They changed the pillows but left the old worn sheets. The shower flooded and the sealant around it was so black and horrible that you just did not want to use it. Generally the room was not clean and for what we were charged it was way way over priced (actually any price would be over priced as the room was just not clean). It was noisy throughout the night and you could hear toilets being flushed all night and loud voices outside the room although our room was at the end of the corridor so not sure how we had so much noise. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Please be aware that Full payment for my stay at the Hotel was taken from my Credit Card when I made my booking, through Late Rooms. This was a friendly hotel, Breakfast & Dinner was on a Buffet Style, with no restriction as to what you could eat, although the selection of deserts became a little sparse towards the end of the meal time.

The hotel rooms are very dated and in need of refurbishment, staff very helpfull, altogether ok for a few days stopover as the area is superb.

Basic no frills hotel, but excellent value for money. Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. Buffet style breakfast in the morning with porridge, cereal, fruit juices, fried bread, toast, poached and fried eggs, sausages, tomatoes, beans, bacon, etc. Very filling. Good buffet for evening meal as well. Hotel in need of refurbishment, but well worth the money. More suited for elderly customers, not really suitable for small children. Entertainment in evening was enjoyable as well. All in all a nice place to stay for a break.

The overall standard of furniture,fixtures and fittings throughout the hotel leaves a lot to be desired as does the standard of cleanliness.On entry the dooormat is a taste of what is to come,it is absolutely filthy.Worn,torn,dirty,sticky carpets,old,frayed,slashed seating.Damaged,scuffed,marked,broken furnitureand fixtures..Very old bed with mattress with protruding springs.Small smelly not very clean toilet/showerroom with exposed plasterwork.Bar area depressing ( apart from superb views) old food ingrained in carpets,,.Flaking paint everywhere.Ingrained dirt on windows and windows generally dirty.Dining rooom in need of a makeover and good clean.Was refused a refund as I had booked through laterooms.com

un pleasant on arrival givan a used room the room and hotel is very worn ie tape holding carpets down scuffs on walls holes in walls etc breakfast was buffet style served on saucer size plates upon collecting my plate i was guided too a table to be shared with three total strangers a which i refused and sat at a more apropriot table no more contact was made with myself by any member of staff needless to sas no coffee or toast did i get stopping in hotels every week this the worst ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
