I plan a lot and look at every detail when doing so. I read a lot of reviews before choosing the Mayfair and got both good and bad. A lot of the bad was about the hotel staff. I had a great experience at this hotel. It is very nice, the rooms, the ambience, the cute balconies (all had a hot tub and a little hammock type thing (nobody mentioned this in the reviews), it was very romantic, the staff was azmazing. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The hot tub fee is only charged once ($30). Some people said it was $60 it was not. There is a lot right outside the hotel, movie theatre, Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, etc. The only negative thing is that it was about a $30 cab ride to South Beach. It is close to the beach (about 15 mins or less) but cabs are expensive. We didn't have a car b/c the fee per night is I believe $25 for a car at the hotel. You can save money by eating around the hotel. The pool I thought would be bigger but it was okay. The rooftop "club" said it was open Thurs-Sun in the booklet but it is NOT open on Thursdays. Definately a place for couples, not for families or groups of friends. If you want to be away from South Beach but still close enough to drive its perfect. It was not noisy either.

The hotel is in a great location and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Having said that, it was extremely noisy at night - even into the wee hours. The night club on the roof of the hotel is much too loud! Our room was even located facing away from the club. I don't know how you would be able to sleep if your room was actually close to that night club. Don't know if we would stay there again because of that. Too bad, because other than the noise factor, we really enjoyed our stay there.

We stayed at the Mayfair while in Miami for our son's graduation. It is a smaller, boutique hotel. The rooms are very attractive and meticulously clean, the bed was comfortable and they actually had a power strip which was very convenient for recharging our various gadgets. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were within walking distance of good shopping and several restaurants.

I stayed at the hotel for a week in the middle of October, the location across from CocoWalk is great for entertainment and dining choices, however if your room faces CocoWalk the noise can be heard in the room. The rooftop pool had just been completed and is a nice place to relax in the sun! Coconut Grove is a laid back area, if you're looking for a party destination head to South Beach but if you're intending on relaxing the Mayfair is a fine choice.

Location. Parking fee. Obviously a hotel that has seen better times but it is still in excellent shape. Coconut Grove as an area mid-week is great and the hotel is in the middle of it all.

Excellent hotel. The staff was horrible!! 1st we had to wait for 1 1/2 hr for a maintaince person to come and start the hot tub for us and after he got there he told us "that why we kept calling the front desk, that he knew he had to come to the room but that he was busy" After been charge for things we didnt even order they still had us wait 2 hrs after we check out for the manager because he was the only one allowed to refund the money in the our acct. This really ruined or 1st day into our honeymoon!! Wouldnt stay there again!!

The Mayfair was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the room amenities for just great. I liked the large plasma TV as well as the smaller one in the bathroom. I also loved the large bathtub. This location was perfect for everything I wanted to do in Miami; close to the beach, excellent dining in walking distance of the hotel. Only thing that was annoying was parking was a bit expensive for the hotel but I found alternate more reasonable parking a few blocks away. Finally, the noise due to the contruction of a new elevator and new pool on top of the hotel was a little loud.

Location. Poor service - bad attitude of staff. Their staff do not care about guests. When using the pool, there were no towels and when we asked for them the staff said sorry we ran out and made no effort to get towels for me, my wife or my children!

Hotel was extremely nice and I will definitely revisit. I was locked out of my room for a little while and it took the staff a while to resolve the issue. That was the only problem.

I always enjoy my stay at the Mayfair. My last trip was somewhat diminished by very poor quality WI-FI signal in my room. Construction of the soon to be openned rooftop pool in no way inconvienced my business stay.

Good location and trendy. Noise level in room very loud. This hotel was very trendy and in a great location. The room was very nice. The only complaint is at night the noise from the bar and the street below was so loud I couldn't sleep and had to request ear plugs. After that it was okay.

We had a great time in Miami and the hotel was a big part of it. we were in the Coco Walk area which is where there is great resturants, shopping, live music and more right accross the street. We did not have to leave the area if we did not want to. The room with the Japaneese hot tub as stunning. The bathroom was butiful and very spacious. It was great to watch the flat screen TV in the bathroom while I was doing hair and make up. I will deffinately stay there again.

Our family love this hotel! The beds were plush. The large screen TV was really nice. The space was really nice. It had a love seat couch and dinette with plenty of space. The bathroom was over above average: the bath tub was much larger than most and very comfortable to soak in. The shower head was a large rain type. The toilet was in a seperated but you could still veiw the TV (that was in the bathroom). The honor system for beverages, snacks and personal items was wonderful for us since we were traveling economically, carry- ons airplane, trains, and buses. The restraunt was fabuluos. The hot tub was a disappointment. It wasn't ready for us as I had scheduled and it wasn't serviced daily as quoted nor was the area cleaned up daily nor fresh towels. But the ambiance on the porch was perfect. Bamboo, bird of paridise, and bougiville between the rail and wall created a relaxing feel, and the furniture was a ratan lounge couch with a draped awning above.

Don't bother staying here unless you have a dog and no other place allows dogs. I've had better service in an "along the highway single star motel". Lousy experience consisted of: forgot to clean the room, then waited an hour to get clean towels, they forgot our wake up call, forgot to bring up the car even after two calls, had to wait 15 minutes for check out person to finish her chat with friend to get checked out. Met with general manager... arrogant!

The Mayfair was very comfortable, the room was very great. About a 42 screen TV in the bedroom area and a 13 in the bathroom. The jacuzzi on the balcony was very romantic. Valet parking was very expensive, $25/night. ?There's public parking across the street and one or two blocks away also. Across the street is shopping and food in a wonderful area called the Coconut Walk. Would recomend for couples looking to spend some quality time together.

Upscale, likes the marble floors in the room. Snobby staff - elevator attendant made me feel like I didn't deserve to be there. Hotel was clean, upscale and very nice. I have to pay $26.00 for valet parking. Usually hotels come with free parking.
