The resort is located in Kihei, on the island of Maui's beautiful south shore. The Maui Sunseeker is the perfect hotel for gorgeous Pacific Ocean views, seasonal whale watching and magical Hawaiian island sunsets. Maui Sunseeker is a newly renovated 16-room gay-owned and operated hotel. For the discriminating gay or lesbian traveler there is no other gay hotel, accommodation or resort option. Our location is convenient to Maui attractions such as Little Beach, the Iao Valley, Hana, Lahaina and the volcano, Haleakala. Arrangements can be made to enjoy the best of Hawaii such as seasonal whale watches, snorkeling, kayaking and biking down the volcano. Maui's best shopping, finest restaurants and luau's are nearby. Had an awesome view on the mountain, and exotic view of the beach. From our balcony, it was about 50 feet to the waters edge, and you can hear the waves every night! The private 3rd floor was perfect for sunbathing, and at night for eveyone to hang out and just relax. The hot tub also on the third floor was the perfect ending to each night. The junior exectutive sweet which we had had a terrific kitchette to save money on food. Bathroom was excellent and the staff was first class.I recomend this to anyone, plus we are already planning our trip back to maui, and we are definatly staying at the sunseeker! Might even try to upgrade to the penthouse!!!Thank you so much [...]!!p.s. [...] sessions are to die for!!!!

This was our first trip to Maui. The Sunseeker was a good deal. Our room was clean, and the bed surprisingly comfy. There was a little street noise in the mornings but not too bad. We were on the 2nd floor which was nice because of the view of the water and because we could leave the sliding glass door open at night to get the breezes and not feel unsafe. We did not run the A/C for our entire early March visit which was so relaxing. The hot tub on the rooftop deck was great especially after a day of snorkeling. Fun to meet some of the other guests there. The staff were friendly at check-in and gave us a tour of the grounds. But they were never in the office after 4:30ish so you were really on your own if you needed anything after hours. Kihei is a great location - an easy drive to the best beaches we found on Maui. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an unfortunate incident, a robbery from our car while parked on the beach. It was our own fault; we didnt' heed the warnings about leaving valuables in the car. Everything was taken, our I.D.'s, money, credit cards, hotel room keys. Michael, our host at the Sunseeker, was sympathetic and helpful, assisting us through this potential trauma in every way possible: he helped us look up numbers for cancelling our credit cards, ordered new locks for the room, gave us a cash loan until money was wired to the local Western Union. His patience and understanding helped to ease us out of our depression and outrage, and virtuallly saved our vacation. There are certainly more expensive and luxurious resorts here on Maui, but I doubt that we could have encountered more friendly and willing assistance.

They did a wonderful job of making a person feel welcome and helping to familiarize visitors of the resort to the surrounding areas of Maui. I would definitely stay there again.

The Maui Sunseeker was the perfect resort for our 8 day vacation. The room was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and the location was great! We knew we were going to spend the majority of our time adventuring and didn't want to spend all of our money on accommodations. It's not the Grand Wailea...but you are not spending $$$ a night either! Loved the clothing optional lanai, free wifi and computer center, clean beach towels everyday and the beach is just across the street. We had a great ocean view. Kihei is a funky little town and just a short drive to just about anywhere on the island. We went to Hana (3 hours), Haleakala (1 hour) Lahaina (40 minutes with traffic) and Wailea is the next town up the road on the way to Big Beach and of course Little Beach! Loved, loved, loved Little Beach! Clothing optional, great people from all over the planet and the best beach on the island. Clean sand, great sun, decent snorkeling in the morning and fun waves in the afternoon! More cool things about the Sunseeker, they provided a 6 can cooler in our room to take to the beach, they have a barrel of beach stuff (umbrellas, snorkels, etc) left over from previous guests to use and on our last day after check out they let us come back and shower on the lanai after playing on the beach. Can't say enough good about the Sunseeker! Great location and great price with super great staff.

My friend and I stayed here for our vacation. I am straight and married and she is lesbian. The staff treated us with the best respect and additude. They were always there to answer questions and had cd's you could take out and books to read. I never once felt like an outsider in a gay resort and would love to stay again! The room was delightful and the kitchen was adequately equipped so we could cook at our lesiure. The housekeeper was a dream and be sure to get a massage from their X. She is wonderful!!

My partner and I spent 7 nights this July and 7 nights last summer at The Maui Sunseeker. This year we upgraded to an ocean view.It was well worth the upgrade to see the ocean as soon as we stepped out on the private deck each morning and see the sunset the nights we were getting ready to dine out at some of the great restaurants just a short drive away further into Kehei. The room was clean and the property was beautifully taken care of. Just a walk across the street was a sandy stretch of beach. What a great location to all sorts of activities.

Sunseeker staff need help in dealing with guests. Check-in was rushed and we were unclear where anything was. Room was outside of rest of compound and you need to use key to get to other part of inner complex. Ran into another staff person next day who was hyper and quickly asked if he has aleady met us and then ran off. Awkward route of stairs to get to jacuzzi and computer area and visitors frequented the area to check out the place. Last day, we asked if we could have an extra hour before checkout and was briskly dismissed with a 'no' without any kind of consideration or pleasantness and then demanded to know right then if we intended to stay an hour longer as he would add a full days charge to the bill - we had stayed five days here. Word of mouth can hurt businesses like this and they seemed more interested in quickly chceking us in and then having nothing to do with us after. Dryer burnt the clothes - watch out. Room does have cooking faciliies which was a plus wih Maui restaurant prices.

Tacky and outdated decoration, Extremely small bathroom (I guess it was a closet before), Uncomfortable mattress, Very Noisy AC unit, A few ants in the kitchen + other aggravations that made us leave the place after only two days, I don't recommend this place to any one. The only consolation is a staff which is nice, welcoming and helpful when it's about fixing some situations they created.

The people at Maui Sun Seeker were great and very accommodating. The room contained a full kitchen and bath with complementary beach towels, beach chairs and boogie boards. The room had it's own garden patio with table and chairs. The garden was excellently maintained. The property also contained a roof top BBQ patio complete with a jacuzzi from which you can watch the sunset over the ocean.

Everything was great at the Sunseeker. The room was comfortable and very clean. The location was central so it was easy to get everywhere. The staff was very helpful with planning or anything we needed for that matter.

The Maui Sunseeker in Kehei Hawaii was one of the coziest accomadations we have stayed in. The rooms make you feel like you in a bungalow of your own with either a view of the ocean or a lanai filled with tropical plants walkway and flowing fountains. The clothing optional ocean view rooftop is great at night to soak in the hottub, or sunbath duing the day, and get a private massage. Its close in any direction for shops , beaches, water sports and restaurants. Its all here in Maui at the Sunseeker.

Staying at the Maui Sunseeker was a great experience. The staff were incredibly helpful, warm, and made you feel like family. Our room, which overlooked the garden, and had an ocean view, was comfortable, clean, and functional. The inclusion of the full-sized kitchen, was a great thing, as we were able to save money by cooking breakfast in the room before heading out for the days activities. The resort, although small, has the feel of home, and is conveniently located between gorgeous beaches, shoppping, and all the other sites that make Maui a vacation you won't soon forget. We'll be back soon!!

I think what I really enjoyed was the location at a much more secluded area of Kihei, and the spa area on the upper deck, set aside for privacy and enjoyment of the ocean without the interuption of other beach goers. The grounds are beautifully landscaped giving you the very feel of a tropical island and the staff was very helpful in finding things to do around the area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, all in all a very good experience.
