Beautiful views from the rooms. Staff are superb and very welcoming. This appears to be a converted condominium and looks quite shabby in parts. The rooms are nice but we found a roach in our room which is never a good sign. The bathroom was extremely tiny. The walkways to the rooms are indeed slippery when wet. Hotel was packed with British tourists who are nice but boisterous. Overall a pleasant experience but hotel could do with some serious renovations.

My husband and I were very disappointed by this hotel. When we checked in, the room that we received was not a king size bed like I reserved online. When we got to the room we were on the 6th floor and there is a hugh fan of some kind that was on the main floor. When we went on the balcony you couldnt even sit outside because of the noise from the fan and when we went to lay down the beds were vibrating from the fan, and we were on the 6th floor. Not worth the price that we paid on Orbitz at 242.00 per night. BUYER BEWARE!!

My husband and I just got back from our third year at Marriott sand Key. He is a quadriplegic and the acccomodations are nearly pefect. If you have a handicap they do a great job to accommodate you The boardwalk is fantastic! You really don't need a car at all. We had a great week again! GREAT STAFF! Only 1 complaint....they charge 9.95 for internet. However you can get free access in various hot spots.

Thought the location was great with gulf view on balcony and ocean view from front entrance balcony. You can watch schools of fish swim in bay areas and beautiful yachts at night. Staff was helpful and friendly. Micro and fridge are great asset. Clean and roomy. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough.Only complaint is pool hours (only until 10pm) and poor internet.A little on the pricey side but willing to pay for clean room.

Every one at the marriot sand key was extremely friendly. I enjoyed the causal laid back attitude of the hotel. The rooms were wonderful; over looking the bay. It was a great experience I can't wait to go back with my family or some girl friends.

The staff was very helpful with all our needs from the day we arrived to the day we left! Sometimes our room wasn't cleaned until late in the day, like about 5 p.m. We had a wonderful time. The whole trip was great.

This hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We had a balcony right over the bay water and outside the front door a balcony that looked out at the gulf. People were so friendly and accommodating! It was a walk to the beach, if not a golf cart ride. The room we stayed in had a small living room with couch, chair and large flat panel TV along with a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. The bedroom also had a flat panel TV. Services were outstanding when we called. (Once for butter and once for equal) They responded immediately! Can't say enough! Would definitely stay the again!

Observations about this location:- The name may suggest to some that it is on the beach but it is not and the suite is not exactly what I would call a suite.- TV has limited channels, especially for kid e.g. does not offer Nicklodeon.- They charged us for high speed internet access but this was not clear on the website (talked about some special business package that included phone and wireless internet but did not specify that youu cannot get free high speed access which is something even budget hotels now offer as standard amenity).- The front desk was not verry friendly when talking about high speed internet and did not inform us of any kid programs at check-in either (something that our check-out person was surprised to find out).- The pool is great and the staff around the pool was friendly. If you are looking for a Beach Resort - I would say for the price, not exactly.

Should have a people cross over to the beach/ocean side. The road outside the hotel is too busy to cross with children.

We loved the Marriott Sand Key. The check-in service was excellent. Upon check-in, we were given a small tour of the lobby, restaraunt and shops. We were told about the kdis programs and shown where to go if we chose to particiapte. We stayed for 4 days/3 nights. One night, my daughter was working on her homework and needed white out. The front dest was happy to give her a bottle. On the final night of our stay, I had a terrible headache and my children wanted a snack. The gift shop was closed. My daughters came back to the room and told me it had closed. They called the front dest and asked if there were vending machines where they could buy advil and snacks. The front desk told them to come on down and they would open the store for them and just charge our room.! That is service. The restaruant had amazing food and excellen service! My children loved Lisa, the macaw, who greated us each time we walked through the lobby! The rooms were nice, but not what I had expected for the price, but the service made the price well worhwhile! This will always be our hotel of choice in the Tampa area! 5 Stars from me!

The first room given to us did not have a balcony and the window was broke and would not open or close. The repairman did not fix the window correctly, but did open it (then it would not close all the way). Anyway we switched rooms the 2nd day and the room was nice and had a balcony (bay side). Friendly staff here and you can take the buggy to the beach (gulf side). Maggie Mae's next to the hotel has affordable and good food. Hotel food and drinks are a little pricey, but we did that a couple of times. Stayed 6 nights, overall a nice trip.

We stayed here an entire week, from September 20-27, 2008. Our stay was extremely pleasurable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to accommodate our needs -- drove us to and from the beach, offered us free bottles of water when we would leave the hotel, cleaned our room at 5:30 PM when we forgot to remove the "do not disturb" sign, helped us when we were having computer problems, made dinner reservations for us, etc. The hotel was beautiful inside and out and was very clean. The pool area is right next to the bay and is wonderful. The pool is beautiful and has mulitple waterfalls. There is a nice hot tub, cabanas, and a tiki bar. We only ate at the hotel once. We had breakfast, and they had a very nice buffet. Our room was very nice. It was a 2-room suite, with a bathroom. The one room was a sitting area with a couch, TV, sink, refrigerator and microwave. The other room was the bedroom, with a balcony overlooking the bay. When you looked out the front window next to the room door, you could see the gulf. The room was very nice and clean, although I would not describe it as ultra luxurious. The only real drawback to this hotel is that it is not located directly on the gulf beach. It is very close and you can walk across the street to it. Also, the hotel offers a free service to drive you to and from the beach any time you like. But it just isn't quite the same as being right on the beach. Other than that, it is a great place.

Staff was wonderful, beautiful pool area, loved the boardwalk. Rooms were nice, had fridge/sink. Don't waste your money eating at the hotel, there is a dunkin donuts on the boardwalk, as well as restaurants, ice cream shop, a grocery store and gift shops. Beach access is thru a hotel across the street. Would stay again!

I was at the Marriot for a wedding. It was organized and ran smoothly. The room was nice, I enjoyed the view of the bay and pool. The pool was a good family pool. Children enjoyed the water falls and volley ball net. I enjoyed the poolside service. I liked the fact that the parking was convenient and free.
