Romantic and quiet getaway for couples. Great adult pool. Well kept grounds. Nice 1.5 mile walk/running sidewalk that runs in front of the Wailea beaches and hotels. There are several beaches within a short walking distance. The beaches all have fine sand and no rocks in the swim areas. Right next door to the Shops of Wailea. Includes mid and high end shops with three upper end restaurants and one hamburger restaurant. Not as many family activities in the area as you will find on the west side of the island, but you can drive there (45 minutes). There is a car rental company on the property. Did not find any nightlife in the Wailea. There are several family pools on the property, but none as nice as the adult pool. There is a luau on site, but we did not attend. At least three golf courses nearby. Limited restaurant options on the property. One restaurant offers breakfast and dinner. A second pool side offers lunch. There is also a "hut" along the walkway that offers coffee, juice, breakfast sandwiches and muffins.

We loved staying at the Marriott Wailea Resort. The room and view was fabulous, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the surrounding beaches were clean and beautiful. We really only ate there for breakfast but would rate their breakfast buffet as excellent. This is a resort I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful, friendly atmosphere.

Heavy renovation over but a few things left in halls and public areas to be done. Rooms are repainted and retiled but have dated (but still good) furniture. Its on a cliff, but that just means a better view with a great beach a block south and a small snorkle spot two blocks north. The new serenity pool is quite relaxing. This was not the plush hotel stay of my life, but it was good, fun, and solid. To really be Marriott standards it has a way to go, but it was still pleasant and relaxing. Yeah, its confusing to navigate and a few staff still have an Outrigger attitude, but all things are relative to price. If you get a good one its a great value. If its the same money at the Hyatt go there.

We liked the location, however found ourselves spending a lot of time in Lahaina, which got to be quite a drive after a while. There was nothing to complain about at this hotel.

I'll keep this short, but sweet. I had a room with a tremendous view of the ocean, however, I was below the restaurant and above a pool and bar. It's a very LOUD combination late nights and very early mornings. Construction/remodeling efforts didn't help the quiet factor either. I would have liked carpet too, but I understand that humid environment might not be conducive to carpeting. I'd probably go there again if I got a better room.

Great location but hidden expenses...resort fee of $25.00 a day without a option to decline (included 2 drinks total and parking per day plus discounts at very expensive boutiques, dining discout on resort's pricy restraunts.

We had a great time at the Marriott. The hotel was renovated within the last year or so and it is a very nice hotel. We had a room by the pool and enjoyed our breakfast by the pool along with whale watching from the pool area. We saw whales every day and they were close enough to easily see the activities. The staff was very kind and courteous upon arrival and during the stay. I think most food in Hawaii is expensive and the breakfast at the hotel was overpriced, but that would not prevent me from returning. It was a great place to RELAX. The sidewalk along the ocean that is between the hotels and the ocean is a delightful place to get some exercise by walking the 1.5 miles from one end to the other. You will also be able to see the adjoining hotels and condos for comparison.

We celebrated 45 years of marriage by going to Mauii and could not have asked for a better time. We watched whales from our balcony, enjooyed the terrific breakfast buffet, had dinner in the bar area, walked along the edge of the ocean and when grand kids arrived we spent many hours in the slide pool area. It is a fantastice place and the hotel employees were always friendly and helpful.

Upscale, comfortable, gorgeous grounds, fantastic location! Long wait list for room to freshen up after checkout & before flight. The Marriott Wailea is now my new home away from home on Maui. The rooms are modern and cozy. Very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The hotel grounds are impeccably manicured, the pools are heavenly, and the location along the Wailea coast is spectacular! The rates are much more reasonable than nearby resorts, yet many of the same amenities are offered.

My family stayed at this resort in March '07. We had an oceanfront room near the kiddie pool and waterslides, the location was perfect. Our kids are young and they would have been completely happy playing at the pool and beach all week. The rooms were clean, comfortable but on the small side. We didn't spend much time in the rooms anyway so that was ok. The resort has been recently renovated and it looks great! However I would avoid rooms in their tower, I took a walk through over there and even after the renovation the tower still shows its age. The location was perfect, walking distance to shops at Wailea, walking trails, and the resort is right on the ocean. Any excursions are a short drive away. The weather in Wailea is incredible! Other parts of the island have trade winds, periodic rain or cloud cover but Wailea always seems to be sunny, warm and dry but still very tropical. Overall this is a good resort, not perfect, but I would stay here again with my family.

The room was nice. We had a partial ocean view with a balcony. The staff was very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. The only negative which wasn't very negative, was a small walk to get to the beach. The gym, was small, no view but could still get a decent workout. There is a jogging path that was beautiful.

We stayed at the Marriott Wailea for two weeks in January 2009. The hotel was awesome, the infinite pool was beautiful. We watched whales everyday from our balcony. We had a great few of the ocean. Never waited for a drink at the pool. Our room was clean/made up twice a day. Definitely will go back.

Loved the area, felt like the nicer part of Maui! Hotel breakfast buffet great, but construction during meal noisy...omelets were great! Pretty views, and liked the new serenity pool..for adults only. Parking is extra but included if you buy the "resort pass" for 20/day. Spa facilities nice. Hotel pretty easy to get around; very nice walking path along the beach with great views! No beach right out front, but beautiful ones very close! Rooms are redone, very modern and beds were extremely comfortable! I would stay here again!
