very easy to find and check in. all the staff are very responsive and helpful. our room was supposed to be an ocean view and it was (kinda), room did not fully face the ocean. Laying on the bed you could see some of the ocean but until you went to the pattio door or set on the little deck you could not get a good view. It was not just our hotel but everything on the island of Kona was quite expensive like $23. dollars for breakfast buffet at the hotel. After reading this it soundes quite negative but all in all we had a very good and enjoyable trip.

This is a good hotel for families. You can keep an eye on your kids as they go from the infinity pool to the pool with the waterslide to the pool with the sandy bottom and then back and forth to the hot tubs. The poolside cafe is nice. The food is average. (My medium steak was really rare -moo!) The kids menu is universal -chicken strips, etc... Prices are, predictibly, high. The rooms are on the small side. The sandy beach/cove is great for the views, turtle watching, (lots of turtles), easy dipping and beginning snorkeling. The fishponds are neat! My kids loved watching the fish, eels and crabs. Maid service can be fast one day and slow the next. The coffee corner (mornings only), is a joke! It , was understaffed, SLOW, and they run out of muffins and bagels quickly. It's great to walk across the street to the King's shopping center and check out the restaurants and shops. The petroglyphs are close, too.

Too expensive for food and drinks - most guests eat out. $150 2-hour sunset cruise-watered down drinks, choppy sea, lousy piece of chicken with lettuce flying all around the boat, bad choice, etc. Hotel was fine -amenities lousy.

Beach Cabanas' badly placed on property for the huge price you pay. There was only one girl cleaning them and we waited 3 hours to get into our room at their suggested check in time.Food at the hotel is overpriced as are drinks so bring your own into the place.Long walks to the beach at ocean front prices.Stay somewhere else.

A nice hotel that has all of the resort feature boxes checked off. There is also convention facilities here. The beach is not very nice, but they do have some sailing trips that leave right from the hotel beach. There were some Sea Turtles on the beach to watch. The pool is a nice infinity pool and great for cooling off. There is a separate kiddy pool, but the older kids will all be in the adult pool. You will be charged $20/day which included internet, snorkel rental, parking and some free Mai Tai coupons. Don't waste your money on the hotel food, there are some good restaurants in the shopping plaza up the road.

I spent my last vacation at this hotel in Waikoloa and it will defintely go down as one of my best vacations. The resort is newly renovated and has a stunning new infinity pool with a lovely hot tub. It also had a 2nd pool so that the kids and adults seemed to have their own pools. There were plenty of seats around the pool, so getting a good spot was not a problem. The hotel was quiet and spacious, and had lots of great nooks with oversized lounge chairs where you could read or sleep in the sun or shade. I spent countless hours on my patio overlooking the ocean and sunset and would strongly recommend getting an ocean view room. The rooms were nice and new, and the service lovely. Make sure you meet the valet parker who does the magic tricks!!

Hotel personnel are friendly and provided a great service. Rooms are clean. The only complaint I have is that although the bed is soft, it is sagging in the middle. It felt like I was sleeping in the hammock.

We were able to swim with sea turtles, snorkel along coral reefs and kayak within the calm waters of A bay. Great beach with no surf or people. 2 Cruise ship busses with 120+ people arrived 1 morning to utilize the beach and activities but still was not crowded. In talking with them, they indicated that this was the quietest beach they had visited on the islands. The nearby Hilton is by far a better overall resort for pools and service but the Marriott location is far superior for young kids to experience the beach and ocean. Service is very slow but Merrimans and Starbucks accross the street at Kings Shops give alternatives.

The hotel has a modern feel to it and looks very recently updated. Rooms are small, yet comfortable and clean. Those with allergies to feathers and down, take heed. Or request to have these left out of room was not honored and my partner wound up with a severe allergy attack the first night of our stay. The hotel restaurants and room service food leave a lot to be desired and are very costly without providing a high quality of food. Also note, room service adds an automatic gratuity to your checks, however when you sign for it, they don't tell you that. (It is written on the menu, but my partner didn't read the menu so he wound up tipping 40%!). Hop on over to the King's and Queen's shops for far better food.

I wish we could have spent more time at the resort on the island. The resort is peaceful with great views and has a beautiful lagoon & gardens separating the rooms from the ocean. Both the ocean swimming and kids pool were great for my 5-yaer old. The room was plenty big for us and the bathroom was huge! We spotted geckos and other fun wildlife as we explored the resort. And, of course, nothing can be better than relaxing on the lanai after a long flight.

This hotel was amazing. At check-in in fact, they said they had gone ahead and upgraded our room to a king size ocean view room! It was incredible! The facilities, grounds and location of this resort exceeded every expectation we had. This would be a great hotel for both families and couples.

Long check in time due to someone calling in sick. Asked for an upgrade to the room and was told they did not have openings. From the lights that were on in the evening, they were not even 1/4 full. Friendly, helpful staff. Dining was overpriced, bland and so slow we left before dessert was delivered. Upon check out, they waived the dining bill. You will need to go to Kona for reasonably priced food.

This hotel has one of the best beaches in the big island Hawaii. I loved the location and there are a lot of things to do even if you're limited to just the hotel and its surrounding areas. The food is ok, but like a lot of places/restaurants in Hawaii, it's expensive.
