We were extraordinarily pleased with everything: friendliness by staff including restaurant, everyone was eager to please. There was a great light in the bathroom for reading. I simply moved the chair in to read while my husband slept. Perhaps a stronger bulb in the desk lamp would be helpful. We appreciated getting the morning daily paper. We highly recommend the Marriott Coronado Hotel.

We liked our room. They upgraded our room free. Pool was too cold. Some plants not maintained dying. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It looked like the outside of the hotel could use a little TLC. The staff was amazing! They were so courteous!

The staff was friendly, not to knowledgeable about things to do in Coronado but we managed. Our room was comfortable, the bathroom had a near perfect tub, enjoyed a soak in it! The first thing I did in the room was take off my shoes, the second was step on someone elses toenails on the carpet, not pleasant at all. Especially not at a Marriott property. Not long after that encounter my husband picked up a magazine he had dropped next to the bed and found peanuts on the carpet, there were also pencil shavings on the counter between the bedroom and closet area, found those when I picked up a black jacket I had put there. The grounds were awesome, the views of downtown were great, especially with all the holiday lights. I liked the location, the views, didn't try the restaurant or bar in the hotel but there were some good restaurants a short walk along a path next to the bay. Depending on why I was in San Diego I might stay there again but I would check the carpets before accepting the room and likely walk a couple of blocks and park on the street because parking is likely to cost even more next time.

The restaurant served steak but did not have any steak knives.

The Marriott Coronado Island Resort was just renovated and is a great resort feel. The hotel has a business and a resort feel almost to the point that the hotel is catering to both categories. Hotel overall atmosphere is cozy and quiet especially if we compare to hotel Coronado that we found very noisy due to the airplanes keep coming and going and cause quite disturbing noise. One weak point is that Mariott Coronado has no beach that can be accessed by guests. However, we think that Mariott still should make improvement in: 1. Breakfast Buffet: The choice of the food offered is not adequate comparing to the ones offered by same hotel level in Asia region. 2. Amenities in the room: No toothbrush, cotton bud, and shower cap are provided. Also special compliment toward one check in counter girl(forgot her name) who was on duty at that time. She was very helpful and seemingly dedicated to her work. We, for sure, will recommend Mariott Coronado to our friends and relatives.

Great views, great location, great employees. The gym location was awkward and needed updating.

The Marriott Coronado Resort was a great place to get away from it all! Lounging by the pool during the beautiful San Diego afternoons is a pleasure not to be missed. The island itself is a treasure trove of sights, sounds, and smells that you just don't get elsewhere. We were very please with our time spent there and plan on returning soon!

Big room, nice view even though it was not an ocean view.

Beautiful area. Expected hotel to be a bit more luxurious for the price/star level. Typical high-end Marriot property. Well kept and nice amenities. A little older, but kept updated with glass shower, soaking tub, and granite vanity in room. Our view wasn't the best, (a tree in front of the balcony and parking garage behind that), but we didn't pay extra for a bay view room. Staff was very attentive without us even asking. Water taxi was reasonable, convenience and fun.

On the water, clean, and great bathrooms. Tennis courts were not nice. Spa was average. Tennis courts were in disrepair. Spa was average. Bathrooms were beautiful, and the location was stunning.

No free WiFi and no free continental breakfast. Nice place. $6 for a bottle of beer at the Tide Bar was very pricey. Beautiful place by Marriott needs to get their prices in line with the current Recession we are in. I was under the weather with a bad head cold. 31 years to prepare for my son's wedding andI missed it by 1 week. All were very understanding.

Friendly staff. Small sign near entrance of building said something to the effect that materials used in building this hotel may be cancerous. I believe exterior siding was some kind of wood looking imitation.

The grounds were beautiful so the view from the room was very relaxing. The hotel grounds were beautiful complete with lots of tropical trees and water features and even an aviary; plenty of parking and multiple options for swimming, tennis, gym, spa and sauna's. The room was large, clean and comfortable.

Location & European feel. small bath area. This hotel feels like a small European hotel once you step into the lobby from the busy S.F. street. The location can't be beat.

The bay views are beautiful if you can get one. Quiet. Close to the ferry to San Diego. Parking is $22 a day!

The hotel was beautiful and we had a room overlooking the bay. Staff was wonderful and very clean rooms. The only thing that was not great about the hotel was the $22.00 per day to park our rental car. When we arrived at the Marriott Courtyard we arrived several hours prior to check-in time. Check in time is 3:00pm, we were there at 10:00am. Our room was facing the bay and checked us in very quickly. I never heard any other people on our floor our building. Everything was so clean and beautiful. My daughters, ages 7 and 11, loved the pool. The hotel has wonderful poolside service. We ate at the buffet in the restaurant on our last full day and it was also very good. I have recommended this hotel already to several of my friends.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the gift shop sells combs & bandages, the gave us some at the front desk when needed. The hotel was very nice and comfortable, with the exception of the pillows. They were very hard. The pool and whirlpool areas were very nice and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers or travelers with young children. I would probably not recommend this hotel to younger travelers who may be interested in more of a crowd or being closer to the action.

I liked that the bedspread appeared to be washable. It was cramped, didn't have fridge or microwave, and over-charged for every tiny service. This is a place forreally rich people who are happy to spend. It wasn't comfortable for our family with too young kids (age 4 and 6). My husband was especially uptight and stressed about staying here. We would have been much more comfortable to stay on the beach at the navy resort hotel where we would have had a kitchenette, separate bedrooms andbeach front.

Excellent service by the staff. Very attentive and helpful. The hotel is a bit old, and could use some modernizing. Parking fee was very high. Great staff, by far the best thing about the hotel. Room was comfortable, views are very nice. My one disappointment was the lack of free internet and high parking fees. For a supposedly 4 star hotel, I would expect free internet. They wanted $13 a day for internet and $28 a day for parking.
