I came on business and brought my husband along for us to enjoy a mini get-away. Our room was so comfortable! The Staff were exceptional. It was great!

Quality bed, linens plus the food and room service was great! I felt the HVAC struggled to keep up with my preferred temperature while sleeping. Prefer not to.

I attended a conference here in April and found Griffin Gate to be a great place to stay. The room had a nice 42" LCD TV with easily accessible ports to plug in your camcorder or digital camera. The bathroom was a little smaller than I expected but adequate. The bed was plush and comfortable. The gym was great. All the cardio eequipment had personal TVs. And the grounds were well kept. The only gripe I have is that they charge you $12.95 for a day's worth of Internet. No one does that anymore and yet Marriott sees fit to do this.

We arrived at 3 and check-in was supposed to be at 4. Of our 2 rooms, only one was ready. That was fine, except after 3 assurances later, we were able to access our second room at 6:15 - and the bathroom wasn't clean, nor had the room been vacuumed. This hotel supposedly underwent a 20 million renovation, but we couldn't see it. The bathroom is small and the ceiling is the same height as the door with no ventilation. The furniture did not appear new, and there were no flat screen TV's. The grounds of the hotel are wonderful. Checking out was not great either - the bill was incorrect and it took them quite a while to fix it. This was not our first, but probably our last visit to Griffin Gate.

Convenient location, excellent amenities, clean. Needed bellman, receptionist could be more discreet (not saying room number aloud). Great place. Recommend it highly. Will stay here again. Free parking is cool. Amenities (pools, gym, gift shop, golf course) are promo. Front-desk employees could be better trained but are earnest and helpful.

I stayed here with a friend who was on a business trip. The room was large and public places were beautiful. The room lacked a clock, of all things. The staff was great, the room was clean and we had fun. I will recommend this property in the future.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly, the room comfortable, and the public areas were inviting. I enjoyed the 'build-a-salad' menu item.

Great location, great rooms, great bedding The Marriott Griffin Gate was a wonderful resort with golf, spa, pool, dining, a bar, and shops. Many rooms have balconies and you can dine outdoors overlooking the golf course. Bedding was fine quality and so comfortable.

"We found this attractive resort deserving of its three star rating. Good service, attractive room and very fine dining options in a small city where outside choices are limited."

The girl at the front desk offered me services I never knew about and never knew to ask. No free wireless internet.

"we stay all over the east coast and I have to say that I stay at this hotel because of the temperpedic beds, the great old fashion service people use to feel. Every one is treated prof. from the kids going to the horse events to the weddings that are over the top. If you are traveling with dogs they except them and respect them. go to golf club house for good meal at good prices."

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and professional. Common areas were beautiful and inviting. The carpet in the room was quite dirty, not great when you have a baby/toddler. We really enjoyed our stay at Griffin Gate. It was the epitome of Southern Hospitality. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were more than adequate. Everyone raves about the beds at Marriott hotels, and this one delivered! I even like the toiletries at Griffin Gate. The floors in the hotel room really needed a good cleaning - often overlooked by many hotels. The breakfast was overpriced and mediocre other than the omelet bar. The Denny's right beside the hotel was a better choice.
Date of Stay:

Room was small. Arrived at 5:30 room was not ready. Check-in was at 4 had to wait 30 minutes for room to be ready. Staff not helpful at all. Outside the window we had a great view of broken beer bottles and other less than favorable items that should not have been there.
Date of Stay:
May, 2009
Clean, comfortable. Noise level. Great hotel - except for the noise from the wedding reception going on in the semi-permanent tent outside. Was trying to go to sleep at 10pm, had to be up at 5:30am - but the band outside played on till midnight.
