In the past, we have stayed at Marriott hotels but this one was below the Marriott standards. Upon inquiring, we found out that it is a franchised hotel and not owned by Marriott Corp. It was obvious. As soon as the cab turned the corner, we knew we had made a mistake. The man at the registration desk was unfriendly and the maid always forgot some toiletries. The food in the restaurant was very good and service was excellent. The grounds were not as nice as we had hoped for. Would not stay there again. Stay at the Marriott Rivercenter instead.

If you like to walk, this is a great location. King William district a short walk from hotel was very interesting and in complete contrast to the ever popular River walk. Breakfast buffet at $13.95 was a good value for the quality.

What a great hotel. We were there just for a couple days break during my husbands business trip. The gardens and pool area are gorgeous and relaxing. While the location is perfect to go to the Mexican Market, Children's Museum and the Riverwalk. We'll be back for sure this summer!

I wouldn't return to this specific hotel, it was clean and the people were helpful. I couldn't believe it was a four star hotel, it was completely overpriced and didn't have the best of accommodations. I would've liked to have had one king instead of two full size beds and thought that was asked for but apparently that was too much to ask for.

Nice location and friendly staff, but no hot water for almost 24 hours. Maid took newspaper. Front desk twice promised to bring one up and never did. Dust behind furniture. Front desd either untrained or indifferent. Should not have the Marriotte label.

Great location, close to downtown activities & restaurants. Restaurant good, though decor is dated. Parking at $21/day should be factored into your decision to stay here at any price. Would and have recommended this hotel to friends.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel as a weekend getaway and we were extremely pleased with this hotel. The room and bathrooms were celan, and the hotel was only two blocks from the best area of the riverwalk. The hotel is very quiet which is not necessarily true of the hotels right on the riverwalk. I would stay at this hotel again for the location, comfotable room and good service. Really, about the only thing we did not like was having to pay 10 per day for internet and 19 per day to park our car. Otherwise, the hotel was perfect.

We found our stay at the hotel great. the bed was very comfortable and were the pillows. Most hotel room beds are hard and the pillows too big and hard. Very good nights sleep.

This hotel is a little oasis in downtown San Antonio. Just a block or two from the Riverwalk, this is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to stay downtown but away from the bugs and mosquitoes being on the river can bring. The courtyards are amazing, and the pheasants and peacocks roaming around add something unique and spectacular to the atmosphere. The kids that were staying there were totally entertained by them. The balconies are fantastic, especially if you smoke. The staff was friendly and engaging. Overall, this is a great property!

Very friendly although you do feel like you are in an older hotel. You do not get a good feel for it by the halls - but once you get to your room it is lovely. The beds are amazing and the furnishings are all updated and very nice. I would recommend this hotel for someone that is looking to save a little money but still wants to be in town and within 2 blocks of the Riverwalk.

Me and my fiance live in Dallas and just wanted a nice weekend away. The Marriot Plaza was a great choice of hotel. It was very clean, comfortable, and close to all downtown attractions. The staff were also very friendly and accomodating. I would reccommend this hotel and will stay there again when we visit San Antonio.

Hotel staff was great. Rooms were fine-bed was very comfortable. Very disappointed with the location. It was at least a 4 block walk-15-20 min. and with small children-frustrating!

Ok hotel if you don't plan to walk to the Riverwalk at night felt the distance was too far and not safe to make that walk.

Hotel was great. Quiet, peaceful, nice rooms and great service. Desserts from room service weren’t great but the food was fine.
