Would not recommend this hotel to friends. Poor customer service especially the one on charge of parking and luggage, they are rude and careless, ruins the experience.

The service and friendliness of the staff was impeccable. I paid a great price through this website. I was moved up to a higher floor just by mentioning it was my first trip to Atlanta. This hotel was within walking distance of all major attractions downtown and a very easy commute from the Airport using Marta. The room was beautiful and the full length windows made the views fantastic. Yes they were undergoing major renovations but they did everything to minimize the disturbance. There is a small mall connected right to the hotel, which is great if you just want a quick bite to eat. I highly recommend this hotel.

The elevators were beautiful but slow. Unfortunately, the personnel was poor. Our room did not get serviced 2 out of the 4 nights we were there even after requesting it. The concierge was rarely there and when we found one he recommended a horrible restaurant. The restaurant in the hotel was good but had small portions and was very expensive. The location was convenient but that was the only positive.

Beautiful hotel, all the 5star amenities. High Velocity is the pub style restaurant, Sear is the gourmet pretender. Enjoyed High Velocity's food better. The indoor/outdoor pool was great, although there is a roof panel missing, so in March it was a tad chilly in there. Close to all the downtown attractions, Coke, CNN, GWCC. Only thing missing was a Business Center with Internet access. Had to pay 40 cents per minute at the FedEx place in the basement, which of course was not open 24 hours. Did not want to lug my laptop.

We opted for the aquarium package which was basically rack rate but included free parking (normally 25 a night) and 2 tickets to the Georgia Aquarium. A good deal for the money.Hotel is beautiful with a classy understated style in a soaring 50 story atrium. Rooms are comfortable, clean and up to date. Water pressure was okay on the upper floors, but not what I'd call great.the pool was unavailable for repairs, this disappointed us greatly. We selected the Marquis because of it's lovely indoor/outdoor pool and even asked about it when making reservations and were not told that it would be torn up for a refurbishment not was it mentioned at checkin. Even though I called the hotel directly to make reservations, I'm pretty sure I was transferred to a call center somewhere that obviously didn't have the information about the pool. I expect more from a hotel like this.

The view from the room. The concierge was fabulous, the valet service was great, the check in and check out were a little slow. The room was smaller then I expected the but beds were the best I have ever slept on in a hotel.

We attended a recent sporting event in Atlanta and stayed here. The hotel was booked solid and we checked in at "prime time". Though the place was mobbed, the staff was pleasant and efficient. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. We were just there over night, so we didn't get to take advantage of all of the ammenities but appreciated they were available. The only complaint was with regard to the parking. The hotel lot was full and we had to park at a location down the street. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

We were in Atlanta for one day, to see the Braves/Pirates game. We took the MARTA to the hotel, since the Peachtree Center stop is right above the Marquis. It only takes 16 minutes from the airport to this stop, and is only 1.75, one way -- good deal! The only snag was once we rode up the steep escalator to the Peachtree Center food court, there are 2 sets of 3 steps...not very luggage-friendly! Since this hotel is obviously geared toward the business clientele, a ramp on one side of these stairs would be appreciated by the travelers! All in all, the hotel is opulant and busy! We stayed on the 22nd floor and had a fantastic view of the town. The room was small, neat and clean. The bed had a down comforter and plenty of feather pillows. The Pulse nightclub was hopping all evening, and I was hesitant that I may hear the noise, since the hotel has one large atrium in the center, but that didn't happen...rooms must be very well insulated. We used the MARTA again that evening to get to the Braves game (via a shuttle) and one more time to get back to the airport. After the game, we were looking forward to munching on one or two of the many food establishments found in Peachtree center, but they were all closed, and it was only 9 p.m.! We knew there was a Hard Rock nearby, but didn't know if it was safe to walk to, so we ordered a pizza through room service. It was okay, but we only got one plate and place setting! Would expect more for our 25.00. Stay here if you need to be downtown...I know I will.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta but it is still quite a distance from the greatest tourist attractions (ex. Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, etc.). At day 1, we went to the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola. At day 2, we took a taxi to Zoo Atlanta and the bus from there to the Underground Atlanta. Then we also got tickets to see the CNN Center later that day. The hotel has a very nice restaurant. We had our best dinner there of our trip. It also serves great breakfast buffet on the weekends.

The atrium was amazing. The tube televisions. You can tell that the hotel has been recently renovated and looks great. The atrium was beautiful and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. However, the TV left much to be desired.

Even though I was a part of a large convention that tended to overwhelm faclilities, the staff was alway friendly, helpful and curteous.

Not only is the Marriott staff wonderfully friendly, everyone we encountered in Atlanta was friendly. We were able to walk to the GA World Congress Center as well as to other hotels holding meetings related to our convention. What is harder to find is good dining close by. We walked about 20 minutes down Peachtree towards the Art Deco Fox theatre and found a variety of good restaurants in the "Midtown" neighborhood. Also shopping is almost non-existent in the hotel area, other than a very small mall across the street (which has the only close drugstore). Those were minor downsides. The hotel is good and the hollow interior structure is stunning to view from the glass elevators. The upscale restaurant serves an excellent breakfast - we didn't use it for other meals. We ate breakfast at the mezzanine bar one morning because the restaurant line looked too long - the bar had a simple menu, but enough to satisfy us.I strongly recommend taking MARTA from the Airport to Peachtree center and walking the short distance to the hotel - it's clean, fast and less wasteful of cash and gas!

While the Room was very clean and the staff somewhat helpful, the "riot" atmosphere was very unpleasent. I'm not sure if it was the guess staying at the hotel, but for 3 nights there were people screaming from the balcony into the lobby.... all kids of noises. The staff shouldn't allow that. I think that while the hotel is clean and presentable, I would rather stay in a more peaceful hotel. June 2009.

I feel when a hotel such as the Marriott should be noted when booking the hotel is under construction. Lots of noise and some of the sundry shops were closed and only street access to the adjoining shops. Very noisy at times and the drop off was street side. Inconvenient

The hotel location was excellent for our trip (visiting downtown Atlanta attractions). The staff was very helpful and attentive. The room was nice and clean, but nothing particularly special. It didn't have an LCD or Plasma TV, or a DVD player, and there was a fee for the Internet connection. Also, the walkway to Peachtree Center (where the MARTA station is located) was closed most of the weekend, which resulted in us dealing with panhandlers about 50% of the time. There was a convention going on which created a fair amount of noise in the atrium. We were able to get a room up on the 29th floor, so we didn't have to deal with the noise in the room. However, if you're looking for a quiet place for a vacation stay, I would be wary of this hotel and the convention hotels in the area (the Hyatt, Westin, Hilton, etc.).

Great restaurants and great workout facility.

The hotel is very nice, it?s very big. The rooms are comfortable. However we had to ask several times for somebody to come pick up the trash after we had been gone for the whole day. Never changed the sheets. Thay left everything almost untouched. Bellboy got upset because he had to help us with some bags, he was rude eventhough he got a very big tip.
