The beds are very comfortable that you melt away. The location is everything with this property, it is dead middle of the action held downtown. And you are not very far from the beach, but your still close to water.

Great location to water front restaurants and mall. You have to pay for parking in public parking garage.

Our stay at Marriot Norfolk waterside couldn't have been better! Great location in downtown Norfolk, friendly staff,Shops and resturants across the street with an arcade for the kids!Shulas Steak House in Hotel and Starbucks coffe in lobby first thing in the morning.Heated indor pool with several Jacuzzis.Room Service menu reasonably priced and extreamly friendly, informative staff. Will make this Hotel the place to stay when in town to watch my ODU college girl play lacrosse.Who could ask for more?Compleatly Satisfied!!!!!

The Norfolk Marriott Waterside was wonderful. Everything is walking distance so you don't need to rent a car. The staff was great and very fiendly. We had a water view which was spectaculary. The room was a good size and the food was wonderful. They make homemade granola...yummy! Room service was very reasonable. I totaly recommend this hotel.

Our room had a fantastic view. The smell of pool chemicals by the elevator on our floor. We had a corner room with a wonderful view of the water. The room was comfortable and clean. Especially appreciated the Chair and ottoman. The staff was very friendly and helpful - the bellman could have been a tour guide.

Just when i thought the Marriott chain couldn't get any better, they go and out do themselves again. From check-in to check-out everything was perfect and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.Only thing i would comment about is the parking arrangement......all the parking garages are privately owned and none belong to the hotel, so plan on spending about 14 a night for parking. Still not a bad deal though.

I spent my night not being able to sleep. Due to kids playing until 3:00 am and making noises in the soda machine room. and the pool is on the 6th floor. Terrible choice.

Great indoor pool, they were updating several Jacuzzis with great views. Check in. Great indoor pool with nice views from the pool area and the room we stayed in. They also had several private Jacuzzis on the balcony with views of the waterway. However, we had a problem at check in. Somehow we didn't show up in the system even though I had the confirmation number. The woman helping us asked us to step aside so she could help other guests. I was given the impression that this would be quickly and easily resolved. I waited for over an hour with a tired and hungry two year old until she finally called Priceline and everything was sorted out. Also, the walls were paper thin and we were awakened during the night several times by noisy neighbors.

I was recently in downtown Norfolk for a wedding and chose to forego the wedding block that was set up at the Sheraton Waterside across the street and instead stay at the Marriott. While the Sheraton has in fact been newly renovated ? my experience with the staff there was completely horrid. I was MUCH happier at the Marriott. The property itself has a more luxurious feel & the rooms are nicely appointed and have a classier look and feel than the redone Sheraton (which still smells of paint). Bathrooms are of good size ? and best of all, everything was EXTRA CLEAN. Room service came by promptly during my two night stay and cleaned the room from top to bottom. Service was friendly and polite in my few interactions with them. The property is conveniently located to all area attractions, with Nauticus and the waterfront one block away, and the huge MacArthur Center / mall a short 2 blocks out the front door. Also ? to the people who constantly complain. The hefty parking fees are not the hotels fault ? they go to the city of Norfolk and you will pay them regardless of where you stay. Thank you Marriott waterside for a great stay!

Decor, location, ease of access. Business center. You have to pay for interner access on your own computer in your room. The hotel itself is very nice, excellent decor, good location and close to everything. The place was great.

I arrived at the hotel 2 hrs. before checking in to find out that there wasn't no king size beds available after making reservations 5 months in advance. The only parking that the hotel provided was valet only which was * per day, everyone else had to park in a private owned parking deck cross the street at your own risk. which also charged * per day, plus because of a event that was taking place I was charged a addtional * on that Saturday. The front desk wasn't pleasant at all, very poor customer service.

When I pulled up to the hotel, I saw a guest get mugged infront of the hotel. There is NO parking close to the hotel and the property smells of mold as soon as you enter it.

It was located just blocks from the Scope Arena. The elevators seemed to run slow. She immediately ran and got us both a cold bottle of water! Very impressed. Our room had a partial view of the river and we could see the cruise ship that was docked as well. Very comfy bed!
