Location, beds, and staff. Over-priced food and drinks. The Vienna Marriott: A very nice hotel in an ideal location. It is hard to love a city as cold, wet, and gray as Vienna was for us in mid-May 2009; but it is easy to love a hotel with the wonderful beds, friendly staff, and ideal location that we experienced at the Vienna Marriott. Best of all, we got a great discount on the internet (more about that later). In Vienna the better hotels are strung like beads along the ring boulevard which encircles the Innere Stadt (former old town). The Vienna Marriott is located on the east side of the ring between the historic Radisson SAS Hotel and the modern Hotel am Parkring. Although the Vienna Marriott does not have the fantastic Danube views of its sister property in Budapest (in Vienna the Danube is some distance from the city center), it is across the street from the Stadt Park and its famous gold statue of J. Strauss Jr. From the hotel it is a 10 minute walk through the park to the Wien Mitte train station, which serves the Vienna Airport by CAT Express (fast) and S-bahn (cheap) trains. Similarly, the Stubentor and Stadt Park U-bahn (subway) stations are each a 5 minute walk, and tram lines 1 and 2 stop directly in front of the hotel. Best of all, the Stephansdom and heart of the inner city are just 10 minutes away. The Vienna Marriott is definitely a 4 star property, but our standard room lacked a few of the usual 4 star amenities: no robes, no slippers, no coffee or tea pot, and a mini-bar with no space left for personal items. The TV is an older CRT rather than HDTV. There is an internet connection, but there is no radio or iPod dock. However, the rooms made up for this in other ways. They are comfortable in size, about 300 sq.ft. total. The beds are fantastic - pillow top mattresses, ultra-high thread count sheets, extra long duvets, and a choice of four pillows of various sizes and densities. The decor is an attractive, understated Empire style in pale green and

We had a great time, the hotel was wonderful and a nice retreat since the weather wasn't very nice while we were there. There was plenty to do.

Excellent service and quality. Concierge was very busy. We were treated to an excellent room and given the royal treatment (chocolate covered strawberries upon check in).

The Vienna Marriott was superb on evey level of comfort, convenience ans accessibility. There was easy access to the train station (for airport connections) and within easy walking distance to most of the best attractions in the city. I wanted to take that bed home with me. I would stay there again.

Best location in Vienna, very quiet rooms. No coffee machine in the room. The Marriott probably has the nicest location in Vienna, 1 min away from the most beautiful park in Vienna and 5 min (walking distance) from the city center (Stephansdom). The rooms are nice, clean, and very quiet. The staff is very friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much, it was just perfect. The only thing we missed was a coffee maker in the room, but his actually did not bother us much.

The location was great, the staff was terrific and ambiance was really nice. The furniture was not as upscale as some hotels I've stayed in, but the bed was fabulous! I would definitely stay here again! The only thing I didn't like was that you had to pay to use the internet.

Warm atmosphere, quite music, excellent bed, support staff. Staff don't know about the special programmer in the room, bell cap involve me to take a taxi with over expensive, bathroom need renovation. This is my favorite hotel in Vienna.

Central location, comfortable. No coffee/tea set in room, ugly inner yard view from the window. Conveniently located for exploring the old city and for transportation from/to the airport.

Friendly service, good bar. No free wireless internet. Nice hotel in good location just inside the parking, close to Stubentor metro.

Room was large, good view, room away from park side was quiet and ice machines too. The hotel exceeded expectations for standard rooms of star level. Staff was helpful, lobby refined, live music in lobby lounge/restaurant on some evenings. Convenient/safe location, taxis were abundant and reasonable rates.

Location, attractive. Rooms a little run out for four star. Rooms a little run out for 4 star hotel, location and staff excellent. Too expensive for the location.

Friendly helpful staff, relatively good location. The concierge gave us the wrong train station written info to Krems costing us a 2 hour delay. It is our second stay at this Marriott hotel. The executive floor is significantly much better so it's worth the upgrade (65 euro) if luxury comfort is needed.
