The Hotel was top notch. I was disappaointed when I checked out and found that I had been charged $9.00 / day for parking. (hidden charge)

Nothing. It resembled a motel. Dirty. No Wi Fi, nasty, and cheap. this hotel should have been called the Marriott Motel. it is a disgrace to the Marriott name. it was old and nasty. Would never go back.
Date of Stay:
November, 2008
We spent 5 days at this hotel, visiting our daughter at St. Mary's and our son at Notre Dame. It's a little over a mile from both and even with a few inches of snow, it was no problem getting to the two campuses. I especially appreciated the enclosed parking structure... no scraping windows or digging the car out! I'm an Elite Marriott Rewards member and was able to both earn points and use the member's lounge. The breakfast there fits perfectly with our morning eating habits. The hotel is older, but has had a fairly recent remodel and is clean. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and for proximity to St. Mary's and Notre Dame, this hotel is hard to beat! Considering the price we paid for the package was roughly equal to the price of the airline tickets alone and it was nearly a perfect trip!

Very clean rooms, the bathrooms are small, i think the hotel is very overpriced on football weekend, the pool is old and dirty but the beds are wonderful!!

This hotel made our stay very pleasurable. The staff quickly checked usa in and saw to our needs in a professional, courteous maner.

Very clean and nice of attractions to visit within the hotel. Had to pay for parking. Nice hotel. It met all of our needs. Would consider staying there again if the opportunity presented itself.

Nothing seemed to work. No hot water, tub wouldn't drain, trash in room from previous guest, Do Not Disturb Sign absolutely worthless - maids knocked on door at 7am, garage renovations yet 8/day, elevators weren't working, room wasn't cleaned, never got fresh towels, very noisy hotel, Trash in hallways for days.

Room was clean and comfortable.

Location and quality service. Having to pay extra for parking. I enjoyed the stay very much. But I did not like having to pay extra for parking.

Nicely renovated rooms. Comfortable beds. Bathroom wasn't very clean. Hotel was nice & quiet. Parking too expensive. Friendly front desk staff.

The Marriott South Bend had the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The room was quiet - could not hear neighbors or the elevator which was just around the corner. The room service was excellent, on time and delicious. My only complaint was that I could not get the ironing board out of the closet so I had to use the desk to iron on. Also I appreciated the shuttle service to and from the airport.

Nice (and apologetic) desk attendant. Charges for parking & internet connection; just down the street is Holiday Inn Express with free parking and internet! Not again!

most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept on. we always bring our own pillows because i have trouble with my neck, but i really didn't need it this time

This hotel is in the process of updating. The fitness center is now up to date and has many machines to use plus free weights. The rooms are comfortable with desk and chair. Bathrooms are outdated but clean. Need to be above a silver rewards member before they allow any benefits to being a Marriott rewards customer. Location good for ND football games because bus comes by the hotel to pick up people. Easy to get to the campus this way problem is getting back a lot of people in line for the bus to return.

Great location in downtown South Bend, across the street from the College Football Hall of Fame. Everything has a charge, from parking to internet access.

After we parked in the parking garage everything was inside. Great in Dec. Small bathroom. Nice place to stay. Had plenty of privicy. Could easly hear the people in the next room which wasn't so great. But everything else was fine.

The young lady at the front desk was helpful and kind. The vent in the bathroom above the shower head was all covered over in dust. It was nice. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I am likely to return if I find myself in the area again.

It was quiet. Did not love the lobby decor. Clean and comfortable, well-priced hotel for a small city/college town. I would stay here again.

Good location, easy access to vehicle in parking garage, nice pool area. No free breakfast.

Hotel was amazing. 100% pay for parking. The amenities were second to none and the views from the rooms were fabulous. Very hard to locate if driving to.
