Near major shopping and restaurants, bellman helpful regarding parking. Paying about $15.00 a day for parking. Nice hotel, possibly renovated, has been in the area for some time but looks fresh and clean. Nice room, staff was helpful and courteous.

I stay here routinely for business - probably 50 or so nights this year alone. It's the superior hotel in the area. The Del Amo mall is directly across the street. The staff is very friendly. They have a Starbucks and the Rain wine bar in the hotel. The in room dining menu is a little deeper than the standard Marriott., and the concierge is one of the better ones. The pool is half indoor and half outdoor. I really like the way the grounds are kept and the fire pit in the evenings. Althoiugh I have brought my family here, it's not ideal for families. However, neither are any of the other area hotels. I give the Marriott South Bay a solid 4 stars.

Very nice hotel. very clean, beautifull spacious lobby. I would stay there again. My only complaint, the elevators took forever.

This hotel is convenient for the business traveler. Free WiFi in the lobby was convenient. There is a Starbucks in the lobby which is great for the coffee or tea drinker.

my wife and i love la, we rented a car because torrance wasn't near metro so we didn't know what to expect. see i really hate driving in l.a. but having a car in torrance was great because we had access to drive along the coast and see a lot of beaches. we will stay here again

Clean and quiet. The price of breakfast and having to pay for parking.

It looks like I am two weeks early, because the new lobby to be unveiled looks breathtaking! Rooms were spacious and clean..but I'll be coming back for the new lobby experience!

It's Marriott-Outstanding hotel. Parking is too expensive-parked on the street. I only stay to sleep for 6 to 8 hours a night and the hotel offers many amenities that I don't have time to utilize. It's an experience that delighted me very much, though I was physically there for just a few short hours. HD TV was very attractive and downstairs bar area is just outstanding, though not used by this traveler.
Date of Stay:
June, 2006
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! It is lovely, very clean, well-located (a mall and restaurants are across the street), and the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. I have stayed at 5 star hotels that didn't have service as great as this hotel! We'll stay there again next time we go to LA!

Parking was over priced. $17.00 per night parking was excessive. There was no ice bucket in the room or a convenient ice machine. You were totally dependent on the staff for little amenities. These little things bothered me enough, that I would not stay there again.

Nice atmosphere, polite staff. Only have one elevator running in the night.

Very nice. Extra fee for parking and internet, however free internet wireless in the lobby.

Average hotel at best. The people working here were all very friendly.

Lots of activities at this hotel. Rooms were not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Hotel was very nice but the rooms could use upgrading to fit-in with the rest of the hotel. Workers could be nicer to customers.

Very comfortable and very clean and nice. Parking was expensive.
Date of Stay:

Accommodating, friendly staff, convenient location, lovely environment with nice outdoor seating area. As above, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Lovely environment. Close to shopping, movies, and many good restaurants. Seating outdoors with fireplaces is inviting. Dual indoor waterfall feature is beautiful.

The possibilities of using the fridge, microwave, desk, etc. Noisy stairwell with luggage rolling downstairs. Impressed with the friendliness of the manager and the fact that they go the extra mile to make you comfortable and satisfied.

Beds and linens were lovely. Did not have free wi fi in the rooms. Nice lobby, fantastic pool and exercise room, well maintained. Excellent beds, linens and pillows, clean, friendly staff.

Long stay conveniences, didn't need Kitchen, LR etc. Week or more would be perfect stay hotel. Clean, well maintained, including pool and spa areas. Only stayed through the night--gone by 4:30AM, so I wasn't able to assess more completely. I would enjoy staying there again and for a much longer period of time.
Date of Stay:
December, 2008
Comfortable room. Parking costs an extra $14. Great hotel, good location to Long Beach Airport, parking cost ($14) ruins the value.
