Friendly staff, good location next to Convention center, very nice room, easy walk to the Canal and local sites. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Friendly staff. Location a little iffy. Hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. Pool left a lot to be desired - only about 4.5 feet deep. Work out room was average.

1. The bathroom sink was clogged on the first day. We asked that it be cleaned up. In the evening it was OK, but then clogged up again quickly thereafter. 2. The coffeemaker 2.1. Had not been cleaned. 2.2. Had stale water in it. 2.3. Was placed in a cabinet under the TV so that it's back could not be opened for pouring water in. 3. One cannot enjoy walking the street on which is the hotel is located because of the presence of a large number of vagrants.

Hotel was clean, beds very, very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Shuttle bus driver went out of his way to give us a tour and was full of information. The only downside is that the hotel is extremely expensive. (My trip was paid for by someone else).

I was in town for a tournament that my daughter was paricipating in. I choose the Marriott because it is so close to the Richmond Convention Center. Overall I had a good experience with the hotel. The initial staff member I encountered at check in was a little unfriendly, but everyone after that was great. Booking through, Orbitz, I got a room rate that included breakfast and was much cheaper than if I tried to get the same room through Marriott. There aren't a lot of places nearby to eat so getting a free breakfast was a HUGE factor in choosing to stay at this hote.

No free internet, parking stinks and $. Parking crew broke my key fob and wouldn't do anything about it. Recommend parking across the street for much cheaper!

For good reason, there are a lot of people shuffling about for the conference center and easy to find restrooms. The room had nice soaps, excellent soft pillows, but also had the typical mildew smell near the AC. Look in the closet for the hair-dryer.

Very friendly staff. Great rooms with comfortable beds. The $18 charge for parking! Great hotel. Very clean, new smell (not perfumed).

The hotel is being remodeled by floor. I was in a remodeled room and it was fine. The hotel has a problem of lack of sound proofing. At 5am I heard numerous Blackberry alarms. It is probably not an easy fix. Dinner service was slow but the food was good.

We stayed in Richmond only as a way-point between hiking Old Rag Mountain and our eventual destination of Williamsburg. It served it's purpose. The hotel itself was very clean and rooms were recently remodeled and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating. The only downside was that we had to travel out of the hotel for a decent meal because their restaurant is not yet open (expected Aug 2009 according to the signs). Richmond itself seemed pretty rundown and wasn't the type of place we felt safe roaming around. There seemed to be nothing open on the weekend around the hotel in the safer downtown area.

The Marriott in Downtown Richmond Virginia, has a very pleasant and personable staff. The Hotel is close to many historical sites, and museums, as well as fine dining. The Hotel has a great work out facility, as well as a generous size indoor swimming pool for laps. The rooms seemed a bit outdated, not equipped with a refrigerator, or microwave, but did offer a coffee maker and hairdryer. The convenience of a starbucks located in the hotel lobby was a nice perk!

Loud visitor to room across hall could not be shut up.

Clean, efficient, meet basic needs.. No restaurants nearby, near a seedy area. We were there for a graduation and needed a place to stay overnight. The hotel met our needs. The price of the hotel from Priceline was excellent, no complains.

Excellent renovations. Slow valet parking service. With a major renovation almost complete, the Richmond Marriott has reclaimed its position as the best downtown hotel for business travelers.

Extremely expensive valet parking, but it was easy to find free street parking on a Saturday.

The staff was the most pleasing people to deal with. No vending or drink machines on the room floors.

Hi speed internet access and the staff. The bathroom was not properly cleaned and refurbished during my stay. They have glasses in paper but once I used a glass after my room was serviced the glass was washed out but still in my room.

Room was big and beds were very comfortable. Pool water too hot.

Very attentive, andwell trained staff. Undergoing renovations in the lobby - first floor. Great staff, great location, very positive experience all around.

Location - near next day meeting. Richmond did not feel safe.
