Date of Stay:
December, 2008
It has clean comfortable rooms. For me, it provided a very convenient location at an affordable price to spend the night to continue traveling.

Near the airport. They charge $23 a day to park your car. It is secure, room cramped, halls always littered with dirty dishes, good fitness center.
Date of Stay:

Best place to stay if you have an overnight layover between flights. Couldn't be more conveniently located.
Date of Stay:
October, 2008
For a short stay in NY, it is the best option, they offer shuttle to the train station that puts you in Manhattan in 25 minutes, the hotel quality is better than any hotel you are going to get for this price in Manhattan. I had to stay overnight in Newark for a connecting flight on the next day, and I went to Manhattan on the train, and took it back on the evening. Cannot beat that convenience, plus you are close to the airport. The hotel quality was excellent.

My wife and I travelled to Newark on vacation and decided to stay by the airport thinking it would be more convenient so we could forego the rental car. Mistake #1. Though the hotel itself was nicely located on airport grounds, absolutely nothing was even remotely close. If you wanted a grocery/convenience store, forget it. If you wanted "fast-food", you need to take the (free) shuttle to the airport and eat at the food courts. Getting to Manhattan was a bit inconvenient: option 1 take shuttle to airport (free), connect to airTrain to rail station (free), take NJTransit train to Newark Penn Station (7.75 one-way), transfer to PATH to NY (1.75). Option 2 take taxi to Newark Penn Station (20, taxi does not turn on the meter for some reason and charges a flat rate), PATH to NY (1.75). Option 3 take hotel shuttle to airport (free), take pubic bus #62 from Terminal A to Newark Penn Station - 20 minute ride (1.35), PATH to NY (1.75). Or you can take a combination of the 3. As for the hotel itself, it is very clean, staff is friendly, indoor pool was a nice touch along with a pretty good fitness center (both closes late - 11PM). For a hotel in the middle of the airport, you cannot hear a single plane takeoff/land! What you can hear is the screaming kids in the hallway at 1, 2, and 3am (called security many times, nothing was done). If I had to go back to Newark for visits to NYC I'd probably NOT stay there for the sake of convenience, I'd probably stay near the PATH (Hilton Newark Penn, or Courtyard in Jersey City both adjacent to PATH and forego the extra travel between EWR and the PATH stations.

Mariott was ideally located on airport property, particularly if you had an early flight.the next day. The hotel provided prompt, courteous transportation both to and from airport. This hotely was also convenient if you wished to visit New York City, as there was ample public transportation to the city from the airport.

Location. Faded Glory - poor quality and design. Faded Glory - poor condition.

I finally found a way to like NYC -- that is stay at the Newark Mariott - cheap, bigger rooms - everything -- and commute to overpriced NYC for $25 return by bus of cheapwer by train -- simple!

This is a "fine" airport hotel. You can be in downtown Newark in a matter of about 15 to 20 minutes and about 20.00 cab fare. If you simply need airport convenience, then this hotel is fine. The food is great in the bar. Particularly make a good Reuben sandwich. The "midrange" restaurant is just okay. For the price, get bar food. I haven't eaten in the "upscale" restaurant. Clean rooms, decent ammenities.

The hotel has the slight advantage of being on the airport grounds. I would NEVER stay there again. Had I been expecting to stay more than one night, I would have left. The rooms are chintzy and cramped. They charge $10 for Internet access which conked out after a few hours and at no time allowed me to send mail and could only receive mail on the web. They cut corners in every way possible. They have two overpriced restaurants which limited menus. I ate in one which had terrible food. You can do much better for less money elsewhere.

The bed was great. Everything was great. Great room decor and the bed was very comfortable. Room service was fast & quite good.

comfortable rooms, ideally located on airport with good shuttle connection run by hotel

This hotel is definitely a bargain. It's clean ,check in was smooth , and best of all was the room. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets were so fluffy it was everything i hoped for. the only thing i didnt like was the shuttle service it was at least 45 minutes. and the restaurants are way too expensive. the sports bar was nice. if you want a bite to eat stop off before you get back to your room. overall I definitely highly recommend this hotel.

Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott is located on the grounds of the airport. They have 24 hour shuttle bus service that runs every 15 minutes. If you have an eaarly morning or late night flight this is a nice place to stay. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. With all the airplane traffic they are incredibly quiet.

Good Hotel very easy to reach from any terminal and very close to Rent Car

This was a good value for the money. Clean rooms. Staff was not overly friendly or went out of their way to get your luggage. The only downside is that no one would answer the phone when you called the front desk or operator. We had some noisy neighbors and although hotel staff said they were calling security, the problem was not resolved. This only occurred one night out of our 4 nigh stay. Overall, I'd recommend staying here.

Lots of people were standing behind front desk and not doing anything.

I needed to catch an early flight from Newark. The people at this hotel put me quickly at ease, woke me up on time, got me to my gate perfectly. The room was so comfortable I wish I could have stayed more than the one night!
